This was hard going, even on an ebike! Really struggled with fitness on this ride, big miles for me. Combined with a very rocky climb at times this really pushed me into another type of riding.
Massive thank you to Nigel for inviting me along, and meeting Noggin and Trowt as well. So many laughs on this ride, it made the miles pass far quicker when blowing out my ####!

I did this ride yesterday after watching the video thinking it looked awesome. Unfortunately as I didn't have those 3 to show me around, I was making constant nav errors. The video says "this is brutal" but it doesn't show the real brutal hike a bike. Then there was the brutal winds yesterday. That ridgeline above Dovestones is very very savage if ridden in high winds. Also a good few stiles to lift over throughout the whole route, and one section alongside the railway lead to a locked 10 foot high spiked galvanised steel gate. There was no way I was climbing over that. What I had to do instead, was climb down a 12 foot wall, with my bike balanced at the top of the wall, and then I had to balance on an unstable pile of rubble to carry my ebike down from well above head height. All this is what made it hard going to me

Christ almighty did this comment make me laugh 🤣🤣🤣 I was destroyed after this ride, the rocky section at Chew Plantation was just endless pain, even the 3 guys got lost at some points, I honestly think they just make it up as they go along as a fair few discussion were had about which way to go 🤣🤣 Glad you had the same adventure as I did 🤣🤣 Welcome to the club 👊

@@ElectricMountainBiker the rocks on that ridgeline go on for ages dont they? Try doing it in high winds then that really is savage up there. Did you get out with those 3 again?

@@grannyjone yeh got back out with them again and was the same brutal sort of ride 😊 I need to organise another ride with them in the near future now as not seen them for a while.

Not on an E bike on this trip is crazy . Great ride and laugh guys . Glad you made it looks very challenging the uphills as well as the downhills
