What's the best way to get a solid glue up if the slate boards have different contours. Is it just strong clamping or heat/ steam? Have you run into this issue?

Congas are made from staves, not tambour, it would take a ton of decks to do. Plus with the amount usable length from each deck for doing staves he'd likely be limited to making bongos. It would be rad though!

I’d love to see a project where you create a tiny rope elevator (obviously made from skateboards) that you could use to lower skateboards down from the loft to your work area. Would be a cool mechanical type project (like the stairs) and probably make your workflow a bit safer/easier so that you don’t have to carry down pieces all the time. Love your channel

The other reason to use epoxy instead of wood glue is shrinkage. Wood glue is about 50% water and that dries off but epoxy doesn’t shrink which ensures a solid lamination.

Call me old fashioned but I would have loved a clean walnut base and a nice 5/8ths-ish steam bent walnut trim around the top to conceal the ply and add a unifying aspect. I think the walnut would allow the skate boards to speak a little louder... but I'm too lazy to try it myself so all I can say is, this looks sick.

you also designed a killer stool here, simple cylinder with the decks around the outside and again a solid accent wood on top, either flush, inset or slightly overhanging the base, pretty sure all of those variations would look great!

I guess you could do segmented staves instead of steam bending, then cnc it into a circle to fit around the piece too. Probably easier and you could likely get a continuous grain too.

What if... You built a feed through sand blaster? Think of it like a box with a 2x10 inch section in the middle with a row of sandblaster nozzles at the bottom shooting up, and a collection box below for used sand to get collected and recycled. Then the feed through apertures will have dense bristles maybe recycled from a brush, as well as rubber flaps to stop the sand getting out. Then all you have to do is feed the skateboard though upside down, and it will get sanded. What do you think?

Just had an idea for your de-gripper bat. Cut a slit in it. Then you can start lifting the tape, slip it in the slit, and not have to keep pulling up enough to wrap the whole bat.

I'm going to be the extremely annoying guy and say "it's time to upgrade your audio". Love your videos but this one was especially bad with the background noise during parts with you talking to camera. A simple solution might be recording your Airpods to a Voice Recorder app and syncing in the edit, or if you don't want to deal with that step, a wireless lav mic right into the camera if that's possible? It might come across as a petty comment, but it's worth it imo!
