The duograph is just INSANE. I cannot believe there is a split second chrono available at this price! The only thing that has kept me away is the thickness. It's a BIG OL' BOY and I can't pull it off! But all things considered - chronograph movements are complicated enough to make (and often thick!) Let alone a rattrapante! So perhaps I should be a bit more forgiving on the thickness ;) Loved this video Teddy! AS ALWAYS!
Minus crystal the watch is 12.5 mm thick. Pateks double chrono for 250k is only 2mm thinner. Closest to the duograph in the segment that I know of is Iwc, theirs is about 5k more, and 44mm with 17mm thickness and 60m water resistance.
Lovely watch! Recording the split seconds between grilling different thickness of steaks to a cool medium rare is very practical. Seriously, always great content!
Breitling is the number brand that’s consistently putting out great releases in the last few years. Today, Omega took that crown with the white dial moonwatch.
I has a (pistachio dial) B09. Not cheap, but it is a lovely watch. Dial is gorgeous and the movement looks fantastic. Not cheap, but the bang for buck ratio with the Premier line is excellent, imho. And it’s nice that it has the heritage - i.e. not just a generic ‘retro’ look.
I love the duograph. recently i just read an article on the split seconds complication and was shocked that so many brands produced it in large numbers, but also that such a delicate thing was even in military use. I wish that Breitling continues with this and brings more complicated watches in such a price.
Definitely one of the most underrated watches out there! Not only in the Breitling catalogue. Tbh I didn't get why Breitling didn't advertise this watch more. It was just thrown on the market with many other new pieces from the brand. Unfortunately I have small wrists otherwise I definitely would have picked up this piece!
It's good to reward ourselves sometimes . While I'm not one to spend on high-end watch (I spend too much money on travel, lol), I can appreciate your gorgeous and timeless watch. I love how it's a symbol of all your hard work. And i choose NKUWAN every time honestly
Oh man such a beautiful watch but I don't get why companies keep making watch features overlap the Indices. That's so unbelievably ugly to me and I would never buy it.
That’s not Breitling’s first split-second chronograph… I got a Navitimer Rattrapante in 2019. Weirdly it got discontinued quietly and didn’t have much recognition
yes no buyer would use that split second but one cannot deny the unique movement perfection or stop admiring the engineering behind it . will it justify the price , to each his own.
Beautiful watch, the Nivitimer 8 / Aviator 8 is also such a nice watch, deserves a highlight view for sure with the clean dials (especially the date only version). Breitling really stepped their game up with the recent releases
The size is a deal breaker for me. As for Breitling, I cannot wait for the first production of the Universal Geneve. Hopefully, they produce models in 38mm case sizes.
Very, very cool watch even tho I'm not a big fan of Breitling designs. Not sure I'd ever shell out such money for it, but if I really wanted a duograph I'd probably have it under consideration given the alternatives. As a side note, I have 2 COSC-certified watches and they didn't keep their accuracy even for half a year so I don't put any value on it...
I dont know if I'm the only one that when I hear "split seconds chronograph" I think it means it measures to a "split second" as in it's got a high beat frequency.
This is a cool and interesting watch. I think the buyer of this watch will be a more sophisticated watch person, as it is less practical than other complications.
agree ... fit and finish and value on these breitlings are amazing. only issue iv had with this and the moonphase chrono is thickness. Im not even a very pick and own many mid tier brands... but thickness on breitlings is just a tad too much to accept.
The watch is only 12.5mm thick without crystal. Pateks double chrono for 250k is only 2mm thinner. It is not possible to make a double chrono without some thickness.
Over 15 mm thick so it won’t really slide easily under a dress shirt yet it has a leather strap for a “ dressy” look but a blue face and a 42 mm size for a “ sporty” look . So it’s a sports chronograph , aha , I see . So not really chicken, not really fish , kinda like tofu maybe ? Who needs a split seconds chronograph ?It only makes the movement more complicated and more expensive to service , and it being an “ in-house “ movement means it will have to be serviced by Breitling who will charge nicely for it. Lastly Breitling do terribly on the secondary market ; so should one ever want to get out of this that 11 grand would become around 4 grand very quickly ….
Teddy one help needed which is watch to look forward for life time among these brands IWC, brietling, bell and Ross, speak Marin. Which is the best to buy with date feature. Please reply
If Breitling gives this movement a diet and puts a flat crystal not a 3mm crystal gets rid of chunky display back makes it at 12.5mm or they would have a 5 year wait list on this watch, the dial colour and finish is insane. Beautiful complication.
Can’t wear it to the office. It won’t fit under a dress shirt cuff. Can’t do sporty things with it, it’s gonna be too heavy and get stuck on things. Leather strap feels weak.
@@WatchsNBoots My favourite is a black dialed Grand Seiko. Great finishing, dense black and so legibility is excellent even in low light. Also it is accurate to within 10 seconds a year. I also have a Casio Oceanus that is bluetoothed to my phone and is never more that one second out.
As usual with Breitling, the crown is a deal-breaker and the pushers don't match or compliment it. It is also too thick ... and it's a Breitling. This isn't the 90's.
In Toronto canada I buy a super super clone I bring it to a rolex expert he say it was real rolex . Unbelievable. Your super clone look just like mine. You a expert but a regular person like me will never know. Imagine on NKUWAN
