I feel like a lot of weapons needed to be rebalanced around 45% burst, it was a good change for stamper and splash but feels a bit unnecessary on everything else so it has to be adjusted with the main. A bit of paint and efficiency would go a long way for this weapon I hope it gets changed.
This is the exact reason i took issue with the burst nerf. Burst got nerfed because of 1 or 2 weapons excelling with it and because of that every other weapon that has it took a fairly heavy unnecessary stray nerf. I wouldve much preferred them doing a nerf to those 2 main weapons instead of nerfing the sub and harming other weapons because of it Nerfing an entire sub is a massive risk because you end up with a lot of situations like this where weapons are worse than they should be because of a single change made because of a completely seperate weapon
@@NotSnak But burst bomb itself was too strong, stamper and splash were just the only weapons with it at the time that also had a good main and special (even stamper’s zip wasn’t amazing at the time but the main made up for it). Some other weapons, like c-dowsers and carbon-d, just rely on it pretty heavily and it could have eventually been a problem with future kits/games where they might not have burst.
@@hugoshires5162 i dont really agree. Burst bomb was only op on those 2 weapons because they were already incredibly strong main weapons alone. Carbon deco despite getting an amazing kit isint top tier. It's good but it isint op, and no other weapon that has burst is op either. Burst wasnt op splash and stamper were and because they were every other burst bomb weapon took an unnecessary hit
@@Chase247 lol, maybe I should make a video about wanting third kits, with stamp, with fizzy and kraken, and making a challenge where you can make custom kits!
Honestly that’s why I don’t hate the Vanilla Kit, I need to keep my Ink for fights, so I’m ok with placing traps down, refilling, then pushing up. Long range, Hungry Weapons need more utility subs rather than straight damage ones
That's why I started playing the whole weapon differently and more aggressive using burst bombs less and relying more on the turret mode to finish fights before they realize I'm there, I would use my sub to catch someone running or to start a fight from a longer distance
I recently did a randomizer bingo challenge for 1 rotation and it was the vanilla Dousers on zones. While i do agree that the weapon could use a few buffs of its own. Burst in my opinion does not 'EXACTLY' Synergize with the weapon Entirely The vanilla kit Had mines and killer wail, both location and damage related subs, the Custom douser has burst and Tri-strike and burst does not synergize with strike all too well, because burst with all these paint related specials hardly does enough damage/paint to counter something like tri-strike. So i think It was given a kit that did not really work well with its ink efficency, and in the little time ive used it it kinda Felt like it was trying to be a weapon that can AGRESSIVLY take over. SO the kit i would like to have instead of the kit that we have NOW is either Burst bomb- Big Bubbler, Angle shooter-Tri-Strike, or Point sensor and super chump. The burst bomb- big bubbler would combo well, and provide for an aggressive take over of a specific space however would need some additional help, The Angle shooter Would be able to mark enemies who managed to avoid a tri-strike while still providing a bit of distance+ the paint the landing spots could help keep folks within the target area. The point sensor would be able to help find a LARGE group of enemies allowing for adequate chump usage and depending on comps could allow for you to live for a bit longer while you try to clear an area quickly for your team
Agree. I do remember with the regular Dowser Dualies, ink consumption wasn't really an issue, especially since Ink Mines barely use any ink. And I hardly needed to recover all my ink. But with the Custom Dowser Dualies, it's difficult to even throw 2 burst bombs. Sometimes I use the Carbon Roller Deco, can throw burst bombs around with no issue and still have some ink left to retreat or attack with the main weapon and recover safely. Other weapons with burst bomb I recall let you throw 2 burst bombs on average and still have a decent amount of ink left.
idk why but for some reason i really don't mind the bad ink consumption on dousers. maybe it is because I play Dynamo every now and then but all I run with dousers in terms of ink consumption is 3 subs of Ink Saver Main and LDE and it seems to be enough for me.
Remember when splashomatic was op at the start of the game? Remember how instead of nerfing splash they decided that burst bomb was the real problem and nerfed it instead? Well that’s why dowsers suck today. It’s all because the devs thought they should be clever and nuke the game instead of actually fixing splash. Same thing with s blast too.
That's true but I honestly think that Burst Bomb nerf was healthy as it shouldnt be spammed on certain weapons. Id rather they just adjust certain weapons consumption to accommodate for the burst nerf instead
I’ve been learning the custom dousers recently and it’s going really well! I see myself improving quickly. The only problem I have is the darn ink consumption
IMO douser help with other dualies bc for me I some times spam the dodge rolls on other dualies and limiting it helps me only use goods and smart dodge rolls
Honestly, the build that has been working out for me most of the time is LDE + one main of main saver and just have 2 subs of run speed and 2 subs of intensify.. (the rest of the build is self explanatory) Sure I've ran into situations where the burst I threw completely cost me my life but this is the setup that has mitigated those chances the most
@dannyiskandar_z6535 do you have any sub power up? And I'll be honest I think you only need one sub of intensify with the burst bomb assisting you but that's just me
Just got splatoon 3 and when I had 3 golden tickets I used one 🎫 to get this weapon cause I like the kit and I wanted to start off using Dualies since I never really used them during splatoon 2 but I was heavily disappointed in them because of just the ink consumption they were basically unusable I would run out of ink so fast and in extreme situations where I should be at dodge to escape but I was either too low on ink or had no ink at all And then with how long it will take in recovery to even have a usable amount of ink basically made it impossible for me to use. So I ended up using my 2 other tickets to buy the n zap 89 (my main from 2) and the aerospray rg which I’ve been using for the current splatfest right now and it’s been pretty good.
i actually really like the fact you can't roll when using double burst on this weapon, personally - it feels like it adds a layer of strategy to it, whether you feel you can to stick to your guns as an anchor or are going to need the roll in a pinch. it's like a less mindless cjet, i suppose
I just went back and looked at your previous comments on the channel. I assume you're referring to your comment on my vanilla douser guide about needing to run main saver on the vanilla kit. As I say in the video, I still don't think the vanilla kit needs any main saver, that kit is perfectly fine as is. I'm arguing for the Custom dousers specifically. So I wouldnt say you were right the whole time ;)
Hello as someone who fell in love with dualies, i don't like using different yeah my normal setup is 1 pure quick super jump 1 pure ink saver main 1 pure quick respawn And even with the ink saver i feel like i never have ink, especially if i use burst bomb. I think that's why the weapon is bad tbh, lesson of the day. Play CDS for a long range dualie or splatoon 2 splat dualies for a burst that works
Definitely agree with this, I hate how almost every new weapon has problems on release and most of them are still bad today S blast is really hard to use and burst bomb doesnt help Noone plays big swig Nova has no reason to be run (besides inkjet) List goes on....
@Boomtendo4tw with how fast paced splatoon 3 is you can't always wait for a teammate to do that, especially since dousers are a pseudo aggressive weapon
I mean I honestly disagree. I feel like you’re limiting yourself too much with gear which is why it feels hard to run ISM and ISS. Especially some of the utility subs you mentioned I your guide like IA or Sub Power Up, I honestly find that in my experience I’m not getting much value out of them on this weapon. Now I know you definitely have more experience with the weapon, but like, I think that if you were to free yourself on the gear front a bit more, you’d be able to run more of other abilities that would make a noticeable difference in how the weapon feels. I think that the reason I think this is because I have a completely different approach to the douser dualies than you do. Especially with the custom kit, I see it as an aggressive option, while you look at it as a support, I think. My douser dualies build includes 1.1 QR, a main of ISM, and two subs of sub saver. Your builds generally lean into a supportive mode that tends to sit back more. While that’s fine, I just think that the way you decide to play the weapon is impacting your gear freedom a lot.
When you play at a higher level, using the dousers aggressively like youre describing just doesn't work, it's too predictable. some japanese players were trying to make that work with a qr build, but that trend has since died off. If youre playing in lower level rooms you can get it away with it but as soon as you take it into a high level x lobby or comp setting, it falls flat. And you specifically mentioned sub power up, im not sure how youre not getting value out of that when two subs lets the burst bomb match the exact maximum range of the weapon. without it you cant even reach opponents that the main weapon can. also, as i mentioned in the video, i HAVE tried running builds with more main saver and sub saver etc. unless youre running a monstrous amount of it, it honestly barely makes a difference. and that other gear youre missing out on is simply not worth it if youre truly trying to take advantage of the main weapon. if you want to be playing an aggressive burst bomb weapon youre much better off just playing splash
@@Chase247 honestly I kinda forgot to consider that yeah you do play at a different level 😭 so yeah I definitely understand why it might not work as well
