Strange times however I feel little sympathy. Remember that nearly every single one of these writers routinely injected their media with mockery of a certain group; a group that wasn't exactly open about the current workforce replacement that is underway in their country. And now that the shoe is on the other foot, now that these propagandists realise how utterly expendable they are they lament and ponder "how could this happen?". There replacement however will not be of the flesh but of silicon, strange times.

It seems as though the studios and the actors and writers can't seem to approach each other for talks without bickering before discussions ? What did they hope to accomplish with that attitude ? Perhaps all parties involved should use arbitrators who can reason with each other in a more professional manner.

Basically the writers are throwing a huge tantrum because they can't get everything they want, some of which is ridiculous. The studios hold all the power so they are just being trolls. This is really just twitter taken into real life. It is comedy gold honestly.

Both unions got too fat. There was never, NEVER! Enough work to support them. Was it a dues grab? Likely. Now the surplus is blocking a deal. So writers want the studios to accommodate all these members with 10 writer writing rooms. Streaming studios can’t hide the books. The government will eventually enter in on that. There’s enough blame to go around. But the writers must cave on the man power. The studios are not running a public assistance program. They’re not here to support bad union membership conditions.

Considering the lack of quality and the overt agendas they've been pushing through their product, I wouldn't care if all of them suddenly had to look for real work. You need public support and support from other non-movie related unions for your strikes to be successful. Hollywood smug actors and writers have made the public hate them and their jobs, so the prospect of the writers strike succeeding is looking pretty grim. The power of the Union is in the name itself: Power comes from the ability to unite people together on a same cause. If your Union consists of people who divide opinions among the public, your Union is doomed to fail.

@@jeremyrobinson9660 The dumbest demand is having a complete writing staff for length of production when you only need a couple for revisions after the scripts are all approved.
@jeremyrobinson9660
@jeremyrobinson9660 11 месяцев назад
@@zippymufo9765 Maybe? Depends on the production. Longer season productions can hold more writers who do more than just write one script and do some revisions. They aren't all just sitting around waiting for their turn to do a rewrite. The group dynamic is good for creating quality content. I agree they will need to probably give a little on this but its not a dumb demand.
@zippymufo9765
@zippymufo9765 11 месяцев назад
@@jeremyrobinson9660 It's a dumb demand to impose arbitrary numbers. They're just upset because the previous method of writing season episodes as you go has yielded to writing all of the scripts in advance, which means they don't need a full staff to the end of shooting. As you say, "depends on the production" which means that each production should hire the amount they need and no more. The notion that writers are being "deprived of production experience they need to be future showrunners" is ludicrous, because 99 percent of them will never become showrunners and the 1 percent who rise above will gain that experience as they're promoted.
@jeremyrobinson9660
@jeremyrobinson9660 11 месяцев назад
@@zippymufo9765 eh, in negotiations you start asking for more so that when you meet in the middle you get less than you asked for. We'll see what the final agreement is. For now, the studios don't want to budge at all OR EVEN NEGOTIATE so I'm not sure putting it all on the writers is productive or accurate. But I agree they can't expect to have the same system in place as before. But they do need a way to make it worth being a writer in the first place.

Hollywood shares the top of AI abuse. They need to take what they dish out. People have intelligence too most notably evident in the PityParty and they're the element setting the pace for AIs occupation of people's lives. It's like all privileged behaviors. They wag the dog everyday for the most privileged and create new ones. Tip of the spear. Crack of my....said one line about the Mimicks. They create the mess and hardships and then insulate themselves from it watching the vulnerable groups squirm and dishing out a charity here and there that doesn't scratch the surface in the wake of the fascists tools they use to get rich. Affirmative Action measures need to be taken to address imbalances at the top and bottom not just the bottom which hasn't even kept up with the wealthy's belaying most of the tax burden on people that are conscripted into non-paying jobs.
