At 2:25 in you are talking about the deeper hardbodies. You mention shorting them up so they don't run as deep so I take it that you are trolling them. I didn't hear you mention what speed you would you troll them at for Fingermark (or Snapper).

Depends. The faster you go the more the lure digs in an deeper they will go until they loose stability an blow out an roll on the surface.. but technically for trolling just slow idle speed is all you need especially for (fingermark) sometimes for barra at certain times you can troll up to 2-4 knots an still catch them when they are aggressive. But yes idle just in gear speed is all you will need. Then when the current is moving faster an the wind is blowing an waves are pushing the boat around. You will have to have a little bit more speed just to get moving along. There is so much in trolling an there really is a art to it an takes along time to master an understand.

@@tobyneill21 5 to 7 kts works well for Mackerel which is all I have trolled for before. I read "idle speed" to mean as slow as I can go. I’ll give it a try. Thank you.
