Truck driving is a great career, as long as you’re smart. Nothing like it out there. Easy to get swooned by the highway. The peace and solitude, seeing new sights every day, pulling over and sleeping whenever you want. I loved it. Almost 30 yrs as an o/o and loved every bit of it.

You are right. If someone wants to get in your truck while you are sleeping, they are coming in. When I first started driving long distance I heard stories about people going so far as to make a small hole in the sleeper compartment and spray ether in there to make sure you didn't interrupt them. I don't know if it was true but if someone is determined they will find a means. Stay safe out there.

Hey OTR Bandit good video, yeah the Lease purchase is a 1099 truck driver and the lease purchase gets the benefits of the owner operator as you get to write off lease payments just like equipment payments at the end of the year for taxes. And all the write offs as a owner operator. You basically get double pay for leasing a truck with a company. $1.22 - 1.79 a mile depends on the company. Some companies do a percentage of the load pay. Most truck drivers are using the company to make more money then just .50 or 60 cents a mile. Sorry for the rookies coming into the industry doing such low pay as new truck driver. Most leased purchases programs have to be truck driver for at lease 6 months present experience within last 3 years. I always say if I am going to get double pay and tax benefits to use and save my money and then move on. I not worry about getting there company truck. I plan on buying my own truck and trailer in the future. So keep building money and doing things for the future. I think I seen the your blue beast rolling through KC. I was coming in from the East going through KC to Tyson in Edwardsville West of KC. Shooting through I-70, Take care and keep that blue 389 moving down the road.
As long as it works for you brother, that’s all that counts. That’s definitely what you should do. Get your own truck and trailer and then start your own company and run for yourself. You’ll have some extra responsibilities that way but you’ll make the most money that was as well. I was in KC on Tuesday running up to Iowa. I don’t know if that’s when you saw me.
@OTRBandit yep that the game plan, own company carrier and get going. Already have insurance qutos. Get everything rounded up. Will probably cook my numbers a few months getting everything good with paper work state and feds along with drug testing done. Plus get truck and trailer up to par too. Already have a drug agency found local pool and reasonable price. And has connections to labs across USA. So looking good so far. 👌

Just received my seal guard yesterday. Found one online for $275 Worth every penny in my opinion. I hope the tires will last. They definitely ride better than the ones I had on here before.

That scheme has been around for years and just before lease is up they will cut the loads on them and they will let the truck go back. Then Prime will sell it again Prime will probably sell it a couple of times making money on it each time before they let someone pay it off by then its junk. Bandit my dad died in 2010 I remember him everyday when i see the two old trucks he was in business with here in the shop I keep them up and in use a little mom just pasted this April thinking about them both brings tears. I'll catch you out on the road on day the more you keep coming east. I still run them paper logs too

@@OTRBandit hello bandit I just got home a little bit ago from my post op appt it went very good my inscion is healing up pretty fast but my neck is still swollen a little bit and he prescribed me some steroids 2 try 2 loosen up the inflammation and he got down on my back surgeon for not keeping up 2 his end of the pain control control I just wanted 2 let u know how it went u know have a good night my friend drive safe

OTR Bandido is it possible to do ONLY one 34hr reset a month by using recap hrs? I know you have to take the mandatory 1/2hr and 10 hrs out of every 24 , but if you have recaps every day to.pull from can you stay hard runnin for 30/31 days
