If any of you are feeling down at the end of this video, I would like to offer these encouraging words of Saint John Bosco from another dream called, "The Countless Lambs." They were discussing why some of the boys who had lost baptismal innocence appeared as lambs with sores and Don Bosco said: “Do not be afraid. They are healed and they will disappear. These sores are now no longer dishonorable. They are like the scars of a fighter aren’t dishonorable. A fighter who, despite many wounds and the enemy’s best efforts at beating him down, has become victorious. Therefore, they are honorable scars!”

God bless and protect our youth as they have been under such attack especially with impurity as pornography is so rampant. God bless us older folks too as we need to keep our thoughts pure too. We need to filter our thoughts and actions.

I teach 7th grade Ccd. In our unleashing the gospel curriculum as required by the archdiocese of Detroit we have a lesson on purity. Although I do pray that parents take responsibility for teaching their children their children these things . I have them for an hour a week, they are their true teachers.

11:15 yikes. This is so depressing. What’s the point of confession and absolution of sins if this has any truth to it? Breaks my heart to think of my son who just celebrated his first holy communion but has lied. That’s a mortal sin therefore this scene applies to him.

Dude...I get it. Innocence is wonderful. But the tone of this post is dangerously close to Jansenism. The world is overwhelmingly populated by sinners, and 15 minutes of syrupy schlock about Purity and Innocence carries the greater danger of discouraging the potentially penitential. Worse yet, the self-indulgent sentiment of "I am SO pure" is biblically fraught with risk. Please take heed.

Staying free from mortal sin and preserving your innocence is far from Jansenism. That's how you go to heaven. You do realize you're criticizing God Himself in a way, because He chose to reveal this vision to Saint John Bosco.

As a person who was sexually abused as a child and then addicted to pornography before I knew it was a sin, hearing all this DEFINITELY brought back the s*icidal self hatred that the devil has been trying to lure me into for a long time. Sure, God can heal you, but you'll never really be perfectly good and lovely and pleasing to God again even if I stay pure for the rest of my life? Why would I want to live anymore? Thankfully I know God well enough to know I shouldn't despair and self-delete, but hearing this still stabs my heart so deeply I can only pray that God allows me to die soon. Maybe the issue is presenting it out of context of God's mercy?

Most people today will lose their innocence well before they knew what they had much less protect and treat it like a precious jewel. We have something better; the blood of Our Lord.

@@inedanap6253If you refrained from sins after your baptism and gaining the knowledge of the sinfulness of your previous actions(porn etc.), you sins are remitted indeed and you have never lost your innocence in the first place. Getting abused is a horrible act afflicted against your will. Ergo, you retain your innocence formally and perfectly, according to Thomistic Philosophy. "It[virginity] is common to both sexes, and *may exist in a woman even after bodily violation committed upon her against her will* ...Virginity is irreparably lost by sexual pleasure, *voluntarily and completely* experienced."-Catholic Encyclopedia "Actual sin is that which man, after coming to the use of reason, commits of *his own free will* ."-Catechism of St. Pius X.

God gave us His only begotten Son; He gave us the sacraments; God gave us confession: He gave us everything we need to make it to Heaven, whether we've lost our baptismal innocence or not. THAT is how merciful he is to us and we should rejoice and be grateful, because one mortal sin alone is enough to merit eternal Hellfire. We should be grateful and joyful to confess our sins. I don't know how culpable you were in later sins, but I certainly don't think RU-vid is the place to discuss it, you need to talk to a priest. But whatever happened, it does NOT give you the right to accuse a saint of Jansenism, simply because he praised the beautiful virtue of purity. It's an incredible message that shouldn't be cheapened. If anything, it should convince us to try to defend the innocence of children. Don't turn inward, turn outward and try to help people and spread the message that one's baptismal innocence should be defended at all costs.
