Can you pleaseee help me my sims 4 needs to be updated and will not update I have tried to repair the game and still nothing every time I try to update it tells me “Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission. Please choose "Yes" when Windows prompts you for permission.” and also tells me that my download has been paused… Can you please help.

This EA app is absolute garbage. No fixes work. It's just saying the app is "taking a long time to load. Hang tight while we fix the problem." Sick of this garbage. But thanks for the video. I know now this isn't the problem. Its EA itself and its server. This happens every now and then and every time I have had to wait days to weeks to play sims 4.

We can try to clear the app’s cache - click on the 3 dashes in the top left corner - help > app recovery > clear cache We can also try to log in & out (make sure you know the credentials so that you don’t log out and don’t know what to type it!) or uninstall & reinstall the ea app Hope this helps!

Do we use any mods? We can try to remove all ts4script files from our Mods folder & install the updates for them (if we did update the game, too!)

I found out the problem for me was the fact I had the current Reshade downloaded. I used DLC 10/11/12 or whatever. Literally I uninstalled Sims4 from reshade and it works fine.

My ea always logs me out even when I check the keep me signed in box. I have to login almost every time and I have a long email and a really long and annoying password I’m about ready to change my password to something simple so that it doesn’t take me so long to login. It’s so frustrating I miss origin 😭

Ahhh it happens to me, too! I found that always having Wi-Fi on (so not disabling & enabling it all the time and just leaving it enabled at all times) makes the app not log you out 🙏

Oh wow, the clearing of EA cache actually worked. I was not hopeful since it seems the official Sims 4 forums online did not know how to fix the issue.

can anyone help me? my ea app doesnt have any type of search bar, i only have the home option which just shows me sims4 packs and library that doesnt have a search bar!!! i also dont have those three lines on the top left corner like everybody else does :( I cant find a video that has this same problem :(

Hello, my problem is, my mods or cc for furnitures ive downloaded won't show up in my buildmode, only in the buildmode because my accessories, clothes and makeup are still there and the furnitures I've downloaded was also still there in every houses I've build, the designs was still there but i can't find them anymore in buildmode. They're working fine yesterday but when i played it again they don't show up anymore. It only happened when i tried downloading the Mc command center, then i tried to delete it because maybe that mod was the problem but no, they're still not showing up

Hey!! Do you use windows 11? We might have to install an update for the media pack on windows, here are some instructions support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/media-feature-pack-for-windows-n-8622b390-4ce6-43c9-9b42-549e5328e407 Let me know how it goes! If that’s not the case, then we might try to do sth with the mods/backing up the game & repairing the game via EA app

I just installed the EA app but my Sims won't play at all. Also my EA app is not even working like I can't even press anything cause it's just pure black. I tried to uninstall it too and did more stuffs to try to fix it but it's not doing anything. Is there any way to go back to Origin?

hey there, I have the same problem and I've also tried so many things for the past year.. unfortunately you can't go back to Origin. They force everyone to use EA, because that one is taking over Origing. When you know something that works, let me know!

I downloaded the life tragedies mod and it ruined my sims!! My audio sounds like a scratched CD. I deleted the mod, uninstalled the game, reinstalled, same for my PC. Cleared cache, like idk what else to do?!?! 😭

Resetting the mods folder always does wonders for me, hope it helps you too!! I’ll write down the steps for that 1. Turn on cc & mods 2. Apply changes (if those do not apply, i have a fix for that ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ejP49zTg7FM.html > close game 3. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old (keep the Mods old folder in your TS4 folder) - do this with your game completely closed 4. Remove these files from The Sims 4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (this way we remove any temporary corrupted mod files, similar to getting rid of cache!) 5. Launch the game & close it rightaway 6. A new Mods folder should appear in TS4 folder (make sure it has the resource.cfg file inside!) 7. Copy all of your cc - clothes and furniture - (but no script mods or functional cc, things like life mods, restaurant mods etc) from your Mods old to the newly generated Mods folder 8. Download the updates for the mods (if there are any! If there aren’t, we gotta be patient a little bit & wait until those updates show up🙏) 9. Put the updated script mods into your new Mods folder PS. Clearing the EA’s app cache might also help! Click the 3 dashes > help > app recovery > clear cache (make sure you know the credentials before doing this)

What works wonders for me is just cutting + pasting the Mods folder onto desktop (this is going to take your mods and cc out of your game) and then opening the game to see if it’s actually a mods problem! Then deleting all those ts4script files inside the mods folder & putting the mods folder back to see if anything changes for the better Hope I made sense 🙏

Please anyone that could help I'd really appreciate it , just yesterday I bought a custom bundle of Game Pack , Expansion Pack and Stuff Pack. The purchase did go through it took my money and I got the verification email but when I go to search the items to download them on the EA app it shows them as if I haven't even bought them but in the Sims 4 app it says that I already own those packs that I bought. The EA app doesn't show them as owned and therefore I can't download them unless I "purchase" them again. Please someone help me with this issue, I've tried everything I can do so far.

try to reload the app and then press the three dots next to sims 4 and press “manage add ons” it should show the packs leading you to download them

Do we use lots of script mods and cc? What always does the trick for me is deleting all ts4script files from the Mods folder & then installing the updates This, paired with resetting the mods folder should definitely help 🙏

I was playing games in EA app just fine, then a couple weeks ago suddenly it says I have no games, even though I have the games right on my computer. I even re directed it to the games and still nothing... WHY would a game launcher have this issue? Having your games is oh idk... THE WHOLE REASON YOU HAVE A GAME LAUNCHER!?!??!

If you access your EA account by going onto the settings section (in EA app), and if you go to payment/purchases, do those pack appear as being bought?

@@Darielle hmm payments/purchases... I don't have that in the EA app or I do not see that section in there! At the top I have: my account, application, download, my playtime, family playtime. In my account it just shows my account and connected accounts.

So did we buy packs on both platforms? You can check that on your account & see what purchases you’ve made On steam there’s also the option of adding a game that’s not in our library so that may be why

Heya 🫶🏻 we can surely sort it out! Did we exit the game? Can we save it? If you’re okay with losing that progress in that save, then we can exit it This is mostly a mod issue So here’s what works for me! - exit the game - open the documents/ea/ts4/mods folder - write in the search bar ts4script - write down all of your ts4script mods on a piece of paper (so that we know what mods we’ve used & install the updates for them!) - delete all those ts4script files - write in the search bar the name of each individual mod (the ones we’ve written on that piece of paper) and delete any other files that have the same names (some end with package!) - go into your The Sims 4 folder - delete localthumbcache (this is going to clear our game’s cache, just like we do with browser cache/cookies, those are temporary files!) Another method we can try is resetting the mods folder, but let me know how it all goes 🫶🏻

I've done all the steps, my game won't even repair. I can't update, says they had a problem. Eventually I will just stop playing the sims if this keeps happening cause it's all the time too often that ea bugs out

I tried updating the game about 10 times. I tried repairing, clearing the cache and restarting my computer. I finally took out the MCCC mod(not sure if you have that or not) and when I went back into the EA app, it didn't show that I needed an update anymore. Very strange, but it worked. Even putting the the mod back in, it's working

I'm having a good time , i think i like it more than sims 4 cause the base game just has more personality with the sims and just the mechanics in general, biggest cons are game does feel outdated, sometimes randomly freezes for 30 secs if too many things going on, sims look kinda ugly ngl( some mods help a bit) .I had like 12 dlcs on sims 4, i only have 2 on sims 3. the mods are better on sims 4 way better. maybe ill get more dlc on sims 3 , game freezes and sims look weird compared to sims 4. i would like a remastered sims 3. I am upset about all the dlc i bought on sims 4 and cant even download the game .

We can try to reset the mods folder, for me this is what works in any kind of issue (game not working/crashing etc) So here is how to reset it; 1. Tick those mods&cc boxes in your game options & apply changes (if those d at o not save, you can fix this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ejP49zTg7FM.html > exit TS4 2. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old (keep the Mods old folder, cuz we will use it later on) 3. Delete the following files from your The Sims 4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (this will get rid of any mod temporary files, it's very similar to clearing cache from your apps!) 3. Open sims game & close it rightaway 4. A new Mods folder should show up in the Sims 4 folder 5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder 6. Download the updates for your script mods (if there are any! If there are not, please wait until we see an update for them🙏) 7. Install your updated script mods into the new Mods folder

Hiya, resetting the mods folder might make a difference You can do that by renaming the Mods folder into Mods old (and keep that folder there bcs we are going to copy our cc from there) Then open the game Go to game options > other > make sure your cc and mods are enabled Apply changes Exit game Reopen the game Exit straightaway A new Mods folder should show up You should be able to update your game now Then you can copy your cc ONLY from the Mods old folder (so we are not copying mods because most of those are broken after update) to the new Mods folder Then we can google the latest updates for each mod that we used Hope this helps 🙏

my game won’t open anymore, when I delete my Cas cc it opens but it loads very long and it crashes. When I put it back (my custom content, it wont open?) i also repaired my game it wont fxcking open. i’ve been spending HOURS today and i’m literally tired. i’ve never experienced this. how the f do I fix it?

Hiya, we can try this! - open the mods folder - type in the search bar ts4script - write down (on a piece of paper/notes app) the name of each mod - delete all those ts4script files that showed up - search each mod once again in the search bar (using the list we’ve written beforehand) - delete any additional files tied to those same mods - go into the sims 4 folder - delete the localthumbcache file (this is a cache file, a temporary one and it’s very similar to clearing cache our browser, so it just gets rid of broken temporary files that piled up overtime) - if we still want to have those mods in the game, then we can google them + install the updates (only if there are any, so if the mod is old, it’s best to skip it in order for our game to work properly) Hope I made sense & hope this helps you! 🙏

Then we can try to clear our ea’s cache file + cut & paste our mods folder onto desktop (since it might be also a mod issue) - just go into the ea app - click on those 3 dashes (top left corner) - go to help > app recovery > clear cache (Make sure you know your credentials before doing this since it might log you out, for me, it did not log me out so it was all good to go) Then we can try to cut + paste the mods folder onto desktop (and don’t delete it), to figure out if it’s a mod issue Open the game and if it launches, it most surely was a broken mod issue as well as a cache issue So we need to download the latest versions of our mods as I mentioned earlier Hope I made sense 🙏

Hello! We can try this! - open our mods folder - search ts4script in that search bar - write down on a paper the names of all mods that show up (so we can know what mods we’re using & install the updates afterwards) - delete all those ts4script files - search their names individually (there might be some mod files named the same way that end with package) & delete those ones as well - clear our game cache (we can do that by deleting the localthumbcache file from The Sims 4 folder) Another thing we can do is reset our mods folder, but do let me know if that makes a difference 🫶🏻

That could be related to having broken mods in the game Do you use mods? If so, that’s what I do after every single update and it works for me! - opening the Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods folder - searching inside the search bar (of your mods folder) ts4script - writing down the name of each mod (on your notes app) - deleting all those ts4script mods that appeared in the search results - renaming the mods folder into mods old (this is going to reset our mods folder, so we’re going to have the mods old as a backup folder for our cc & mods - so keep it there - and another new mods folder that we’re going to use to install the UPDATED mods) - open the game > go to game options > other > allow script mods & enable mods cc (tick those 2 boxes) - apply changes > exit the game straightaway - launch the game once again > check if those mods options stayed enabled > if so, close it straightaway - a new mods folder should appear in your EA folder - google your mods (from that list) & only install the UPDATED ones in the NEW mods folder - as for the cc (the files that end with package), you can go into the mods old & copy all those files + paste them into your new mods folder

Can someone pleaseee help me my sims 4 needs to be updated and will not update I have tried to repair the game and still nothing every time I try to update it tells me “Origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission. Please choose "Yes" when Windows prompts you for permission.” and also tells me that my download has been paused… Can someone please help.
