This Winter Will Be NUTS for the East Coast 

I love to sit by my fireplace and admire the beauty of the snow.

I for one love snow, I love watching it fall. Not so much the fallout of it but I can't help it. I feel like this winter we will get non typical winter weather and in abundance.

Yes snow every week for NC would be fine with me as I am retired but its bad for working folks. I never saw a flake last year so I am not going to get my hopes up at all.

It is not unheard of in Maine USA to have no snow over Christmas, but it is rare. I am always disappointed when it happens, it doesn't feel like Christmas without it. So, I do l like your prediction for a snowy winter this year and am looking forward to it. However, I am not looking forward to power outages.

Tell ya what, my man. I live in Staunton, Virginia, which is in the West-Northwestern part of our State. Usually, we average 8-20 inches of snow in the Late Fall-Early Spring timeline. I received a major shock, when, last winter, even we here, in Staunton, received less than 1 inch of snow ALL WINTER LONG! The Jet Stream definitely played a major role in that, and, as I remember, we had a rather pronounced La Nina Season, which, of course, limited the possibilities for snow. We had at least a couple of major shots of frigid air, so we definitely experienced some of that "Light a Fire in the Fireplace, and stay warm" Weather. Every morning I take my dog out for her morning walk. I’m seeing a lot of nuts from the trees on the ground for the squirrels. Me definitely thinks it’s going to be bad winter and winter is going to come early

That kind of makes me laugh. 5 to 6 six inches is a big snowfall. I don't consider a large snowfall until you reach at least 12".

I live on Cape Cod off the SE coast of Massachusetts. I'm hoping for a real winter here with a snowpack. The plants have suffered from mild winters and then suddenly a deep freeze for a few days. I've lost all types of plants and shrubs because of this. 🙏🇺🇲✌️😎

I remember some years up here in the northeast where we’d have 5 feet of snow on the ground at a time. Been too long since if seen that kind of snow pack. Sounds like this year might be the best bet

Live in Ocean County, southern NJ for past two years, and maybe two inches total. Buffalo, NY, three hundred miles North, forget about it. Blizzards!

I love mild warm winter's. Im in Massachusetts and the past few winter's were very mild and warm. I hope its not a bad winter with tons of snow.

I live in the mid west. Last winter they predicted that it will be "nuts". It was very mild with little snow. They are predicting the same this winter. I'll believe it when I see it.

I live in Greenville Alabama. 45 miles south of Montgomery. The Weather here is about as crazy as you can imagine. When they don't forecast rain it rains. That happens sometimes. Until 2021-2022 winter season, we (Greenville area) were tempting fate since 2009-2010. I watch WYFF and will keep watching and heeding Chris's advice.

I remembering hearing this somewhere before. Ah, yes. Last year's forecast around this time of year said the same thing and you know how much snow we got? Under 2 inches with DC not even seeing an inch. And lo and behold it has the same prediction this year. Not going to happen. Trust me ......

I’m in north texas right now where for the next ten days it looks to be anywhere from 105-108! I’m looking forward to the wet and cooler weather it looks like is coming. It’s ridiculously hot here and has been for over a month. I know it’s texas but the older i get the harder the heat is on me.

I've always referred to your "snow bombs" as snurricanes, LOL. We only get heavy snows here in Charlotte, if the storms tracks through Atlanta, picking up all of that Gulf moisture.

Only thing I hate is when it’s cold for two days and snow is coming but heat wave comes in and turns to rain. One year that’s all it was . It a disappointment when you have to work in it.

It looks like us in Upstate NY might get a bit more snow then the 36" we got last winter. I do recall a nasty blizzard the year I lived in Gastonia NC when we got about 15" - and didn't (couldn't!)leave the house for 2 days until the poorly equipped state and city could clear the drifts

In 2015, during the months of February and March, we had the largest amount of snow in New Brunswick, Canada, since official recording of weather. The amount was approaching 700 cm for the city of Saint John, for those still using feet, that is about 23 feet. I'm hoping that we don't get that much again because of el Nino.

Look what happened in Buffalo last year they called it Lake Effect oh. It's going to be interesting my heart truly goes out to the homeless and the unfortunate.

Im in southwestern Arkansas and i love the snow. Something that we don't get a lot however. We actually got 23 inches of snow in February of 2021.im 63 and the most I've ever seen before that was 14 inches

Does anyone ever notice that when these "forecasts" don't work out, these weather forecasters NEVER admit they GOT IT WRONG!

From somebody that lives in the snowbelt in Northeast Ohio. It's funny for somebody to talk about 6 in of snow as major or big snow. If lake Erie doesn't freeze we get what's called lake effect snow. If you get really cold air out of the north going across the lake that isn't frozen we get like 2 ft overnight. It's crazy but I guess we're used to it cuz we know it's coming.

Snow is fun but I hate loss of power.

I certainly hope we have a normal winter here in Pennsylvania. I want to see routinely getting snowfall rates of 2 to 4 inches of snow a week. I want the snow to arrive mid December, and I want the ground to be Snow covered through December, January, and February.. I am not a skier, I do not own a snowmobile. We need snow cover to reflect the sunlight all winter because the Earth is actually closer to the sun in the months November, December, January, and February, and-the Earth is furthest from the sun in months May, June, July, and August. Apogee/perigee.. I don’t know how much the fact that the Earth tilt has changed a little over 1° over the past decade. that could account for the fickle weather we’ve been having. we need that snow cover to reflect the heat of the sun away from the planet during the winter months for the northern hemisphere to balance, the overall temperature of the planet.. according to the geological records, our planet is a couple thousand years overdue for the next ice age. Ice Age occurs like clockwork approximately every 10,000 years. The last Ice Age was the one that created the Great Lakes in North America were the ice was 2 miles thick in parts. Does that sound unbelievable. Will consider this. The ice Cover on most of Greenland right now is over a mile thick and more than 45% of that ice sheet..
