I am a sister to 3. Our mother disappeared when I was 4. Very mysterious circumstances. Long story short, all her siblings and us 4 children all believe she's still alive in a witness protection program. A book was written about so many murders happening in our very small town around that time. I pray I find out whether or not she's alive before I'm dead. Yesterday was my birthday and I would've given anything to have been able to spend it with her.

She split. Do people know what horrible things the mental health profession did to people back then? Unspeakable things. And for money. This man was not her protector. I could tell right away she left for a reason. Don't be sad. She was better off in hiding.

My Uncle disappeared for over 40 years without a trace, however, the family was keeping information a secret. He was married at the time he disappeared, leaving his wife and children behind. He spontaneously reappeared, having committed bigamy by marrying another woman where he was living in Texas and had other children. Ironically, his Aunt, my great Aunt, disappeared as well when she was in her 30's and never returned. It was said she ended up in Montana, supposedly the case, because she had children show up spontaneously over 40 years later. Again, family keeping things hidden.

What a sad story! I have a sister who disappeared in 1980/81. She did not want to be found. She worked as a stripper n later (drug addicted to needles of all things) as a prostitute...in the city where we were born. Had I seen her last week, the police could check it out. Since that is not the case, I would need to hire a private detective. I have not the means, nor inclination to search at this time. I will die, never knowing the facts. Of course, I have made my peace with it long ago. I am the last of my small immediate family. This story here....well it was long ago before social media. In those days, results were not immediate. Also much easier to create documents n change identity. We must accept what is not in our power to change!

That's sad. I wondered why friends or family don't search more for people missing that are involved with drugs or that type of thing. I know people distance themselves from their families, but still after so long of not hearing anything family should wonder. I guess they can't unless they hire a private detective.

i have a sister that came to visit ''home'' every holiday, from '''preparatory high school'',and left home in the sixties. that is when i last saw her, i was only three years old. my memories of her although vague were good memories. she hugged me and i told her that i loved her, she said the same to me. i remember her having a coat that had a furry collar and in that collar was a tiny mouse pin. i miss you suzanne. if you see this please come home and look me up. im still in the same town where i was born, i'm now sixty but still remember you. my kids and hubby want to meet you.

George Carter 1st off she suffer from dementia not Alzheimer's but im pretty sure she was able to enjoy a nornal life when she 1st left but i dont think she wanted to be found either when she ran away but since dementia sometimes erase the bad memories from ppl mind but when they showed her pictures they said she was delighted to see her old place of employment but they didnt say she was delighted or excited to see a picture of Robert so maybe he was abusive. But she did enjoy sometime having a normal life.

Dovahkiin Tim I think it’s rather that the person was abused then something to do with “men.” If a man was being abused by a woman and the husband ran away, ofcourse we are not blaming the person based off their gender but rather what happened to them.

@3:04 and @6:18 APPARENTLY she wasn't suffering from any mental disability at the time before her disappearance if she maintained a job and had a husband sooo it makes perfect since that she did not want to be found which I concluded (and her caretaker confirmed my suspicion) that her husband was abusive and probably drove her crazy! @bess allin I speak just as good as you spell😉
@bozboz133
@bozboz133 6 лет назад
Yakiraziah Baht Israel that didn't confirm that he was a ass at all Don t condemn a man with no evidence because I just went through as of a few hours ago a divorce to a very functional mentally ill woman and not even 1 hour after divorce I'm dealing with drama with our kids. She may be the one who is the problem. No evidence stated he was a bad guy but it stated that she had issues.
@bozboz133
@bozboz133 6 лет назад
Yakiraziah Baht Israel the information flat out said she was having problems with mental health issues did you not hear that because she was a female so it must be her husband's fault???? She made the rest of his life hell because if the assumption he killed her and her body never found eff her she was a train wreck!!!!! Poor guy probably loved her like I will always love the woman I married but not who she became.

It's just a fact that some people want to leave the life they have and never return, for their own sanity I suspect, it sure as hell beats the alternative, suicide. It's about bloody time we actually took some responsibility for the way we make people feel about themselves. Of course families will say, oh there was nothing wrong or he/she was happy, that's because it suits them not to analyze their own shortcomings. Very sad.

:( sad the husband died never knowing what happened. Even if he had been an abusive ass he deserve to know what happened and deserve to know that she had left him. The story makes it seem like he never remarried meaning that if she'd only gone away for a week or two it might have struck a chord with him and made him a better man so that she could go home.

This sounds like a clear cut case of a psychogenic fugue. Travel is a key aspect of it and the person will have amnesia often forgetting how they got there, their past, even sometimes aspects of their own personalities. This is not some conspiracy as some have suggested. Unless she is lying and intentionally ran away I'd be willing to wager that it's this extremely rare phenomenon. It falls under dissociative psychiatric disorders and that she already struggled with her mental health could be a clue to her being susceptible to it. Either way I'm glad to see that they found her.
