Really don't feel its an exaggeration to say if United can get a few more sales over the line, sign Ugarte and another CM/ST cover that this summer could be the best our club has had in over a decade.
As a genius at recruitment we won't sign another striker unfortunately. Mount this season will cover the 8/10 & false 9 positions. Need to try signing Ferdi kadıoğlu..but Brighton are favourites would also have to sell Mctominay most likely to have enough cash he's around £25/30m. I have No doubt Ugarte will sign on loan with obligation to buy. My striker list goes 11 deep and we got the guy I wanted in Zirkzee my second choice was Solanke. The cheap option was Guirassy plus he was experienced but yeah Dortmund snapped him up lol
Need LB big time so Shaw can be a back up LCB he's a better option then Evans who should be 3rd choice LCB. The RCB options are top notch Yoro De Ligt maguire but I do know De Ligt can play LCB comfortably.
*Finally rewatched the Game* Our best signing class for over 10years 1.Mazraoui starting, plus the bench quality coming on (Garnacho,Zirkzee and Delith) 2.I did not realize how big Zirkzee was and he was triple pressed on every possession, obviously he was no secret to Marco Silva. 3.We the fans have every reason to be excited this season, I encourage everyone to re watch this game. *Just watch the bench quality.*
GK: Onana- Bayindir RB: Dalot-Mazroui RCB: Deligt-Yoro-Maguire LCB: Martinez ?? LB: Shaw-Malacia ?? (this is where we definitly need a player who can also play at lcb; Hermoso free might be a good one) DM: Casemiro-Ugarte CM: Mainoo-Collyer (might need a back up for mainoo, but it isnt necessary) CAM: Bruno-Mount RW: Amad-Antony ST: Zirkzee-Hojlund LW: Garnacho-Rashford That squad if they stay fit can easily get top 4. The quality in it is criminal to not get top 4.
Maz and Dalot can both cover LB. We'll be playing three at the back in possession, with one of the defenders either slotting into a double pivot or Dalot or Maz to operate as a RWB when Amad operates in the right channel.
I’d still want another LB personally. Even if it’s another short term loan. We currently have 3 full backs covering 2 positions. One of which has a history of injuries. Shaw hopefully will be fit some day. And Malacia the same. I’m not convinced Amass is ready yet. Leaves a hole imo
Ugarte + a LB plus getting rid of McTominay, Lindelof, Anthony, Sancho, Casemiro & Hannibal makes it absolutely perfect window and definitely the best this century
@@civildiscourse7626 Collyer can provide cover n hopefully we get Amrabat back too; Casemiro is a big earner n his legs are gone. His motivation seems gone too tbh
This is not open heart surgery, the players who have left are all obvious end of contract or players who were not in the starting squad. We have sold no one of significance, open heart would be removing Lindelof, Maguire, sancho, Mctominey, Casemiro, Ericsson and I would make a sacrifice as well in Rashford to show no one is bigger than the club. One sale In wambasaka is not the summer we needed.
TO SELL A PLAYER SOMEONE HAS TO WANT TO BUY THEM!!! If suitable bids came in for any of those players they’d most likely be gone.. but most are on more money then the average premier league player and wouldn’t join as the star of the team.. so they ain’t going to
@tony perhaps you didn't understand what Rangnick meant by 'open heart surgery'. He said it can't happen in one transfer season, Ineos are on the right trajectory
We've sold or released nine players so far. Lindelof, Mctominay & Eriksen are probably going. Nobody wants Casemiro or Sancho because of the fees we paid and the wages they're on, we can't force clubs to buy our players when they don't want to, it doesn't work like that, nothing in the real world works like that. As for selling Rashford "to show nobody is bigger than the club", that's kids' stuff, we have adults running the club.
@@creepingbrain Spot on, mate! It's mind boggling how many fans can't understand how contract works. We can't simply ship players when NO CLUBS are literally interested in any of this average players with premium wage. As much as I want to get rid of these players, they are rightfully able to decline personal agreement from other club when the offer doesn't suit them, Harry Maguire to West Ham last season was the prime example of it. The heart surgery started from when we appointed proper footballing executives, fixed the wage structure for new players and established winning culture on and off the pitch. As for the outgoings, I completely understand if they prioritized those with just 1 year contract left. Ratcliffe himself said it would take us 3-5 transfer windows until we get proper squad. 1 window transfer down, I am quite impressed with what they've done so far.
Open heart Surgery is not about fringe and reserve players leaving. It was always about selling the first team players downing tools i.e Martial, Rashford, Marguire, Shaw, Pogba, Fred, Mctominay, Sancho etc.
@@oseboodigie8406agree. The reason all the managers have liked mctominay is because of his professionalism and willingness to do what the manager wants.
The rest are fine but McT ain’t one of those guys, always gives his best on the pitch and wears the badge on his sleeves. His head is always in the right place. Scores crucial goals. But the rest i agree mostly.
Its not that we are witnessing change, its that it is well reasoned, structured, intelligent change rather than change powered by last minute desperation and/or delusions of grandeur! THAT for me is the biggest thing we have seen since Sir Jim took control. I have openly admitted that i supported Qatar. Not because I wanted insane transfer windows, but because the appeal of clearing the club debt and allowing us to operate purely on our profits (as we used to do in the past) was hugely enticing. But im happy to say that, so far, Sir Jim and Ineos have acted with the upmost professionalism and ability, and the future is beginning to look bright again. Truly, this time. What a time to be a United supporter. 💪 🔥
We need more quality in depth in the midfield. Oyedele has a football brain and skills. He is very composed on the ball even under pressure and is quick when he seeks a chance to take the tackle and can beat the press.ETH needs to keep and use Oyedele to play in the early group stage of the Europa or Cup to gain more first-team experience. No need to repeat Pogba's mistake.
@@sagekevo3285 Casemiro is a CM just like Mainoo. They do a bit of everything. Casemiro role at Real was to support Modric who was the ball passer that made the team function.
@@BySixa Yes I have watched Casemiro hundreds of times. He is not a DM but he can throw tackles in midfield. A DM or DH sit in front of the defence and are like a defender that screens the defence. Claude Makélélé was a master of midfield defence and Casemiro is not that type of player.
People don't understand his age factor and how bad UTD defence was so all burden was on him . If we can rotate him he can still produce for UTD. Dumb fans come and bash him . Last season was not that good for him but he has in him he can do if our defence is good . CDM needs highest stamina on pitch ...
Nah Casemiro was not only terrible defensively last season he also offered nothing going forward… everyone is forgetting just how bad he was. He’s had one good game we need to slow down and see if he can still deliver
Definitely agree with the overall points here but 'LCM' cover is kind of a strange way of putting it. It's more of a 'number 8' cover. Indeed we have number 10 cover for Bruno in Mount. And number 6 cover for Ugarte in Casemiro and Collyer. But indeed no cover for Mainoo who's pretty much our only natural 8.
Left back is more important than striker in my opinion. With Shaw and Malacia constantly injured I think it's more necessary. Especially with Ten Haag's 4-2-4 I think we're covered upfront with Mount, Fernandes, Zirkzee and Hojlund. Maybe give Ethan Wheatley some chances too.
A good comparison stat would be the players we missed out on during those post Fergie, Ed Wankwood led TF windows. That would really balance out the horror of the past 10 years. Agreed this summer is a huge improvement. Finally feeling hopeful for the season ahead. C'mon United!
Probably because we have Shaw, Malacia and Amass there, and Dalot and Mazraoui can also play LB. And also I don't think it's quite as much of a critical position as some of the other positions, like CDM or striker.
@@JoeBob79569 Shaw and Malacia are injured. Amass is young and Mazzouroui should not be pressured. Try to use Antony in the meantime because at least he has defensive capabilities which United are lacking right now. Bring Hermoso if he is available for free.
If Ugarte is a loan (wotb), I'd keep Mctominay, don't personally like the idea of him leaving still, even though I know he's not perfect. A committed youth player, physical, determined, can get a goal. I'd move on eriksen, then I think we have enough there. Mount can play a bit deeper in certain games as well, particularly if ugarte is there (eg cover for mainoo role). Like others have said, I'd still want another left back. It was a really big issue yesterday that affected the whole team, and we're starting the seasons again without a left back. The two guys have serious injury records, we can't rely on them... And we can't have only 2 fit full backs playing 90 mins each game.... They'll get injured!
No way We want to get rid of these troublesome characters yet we are being in more in!!! Crazy 🤪 He slags his club of on holiday constantly Always flirts with a move away He won’t want to be second choice and can see him being toxic to our other 3 strikers, Rasmus, zirkzee and chido And his betting scandal still lingers over his head…
I think mact is one of the few clutch players we got .... Not saying he should not be sold.... But just scared about the goals .cuzz those finishes when we need with rashfotf out of form idk who is gonna scorr them
love UPTV but this video gave me a headache. never left a graphic on screen for long enough to understand or take it all in. just lot of transitions and choppin and changing!
Disagree. After Ugarte, if there is an urgency for us, it is at LB. You cannot go into the season with Dalot as the starting LB and hoping that a 17yo Amass will be able to cover. A LB on loan is compulsory.
Can someone please tell me which of United new signings would get into any of the top 4s teams? None of them would. I'm baffled by people suggesting this is an incredibly successful transfer season. It's lots of players but they are all average and mostly players unwanted by the their current clubs.
I think, it's better to focus on getting the Ugarte deal done ASAP and focus on the footballing side. In my opinion, transfer sagas can be dramatic and can unsettle moods in the camp. Some players can be moved on and some should just be seeing out their contracts because they can serve as good squad players for a season (e.g.hannibal and ericksen for mainoo) This will also create a good path for some good academy players to come through.
I do not think we do not have a chance of this happen this window. Ugarte in and maybe one more (Amrabat??) and a couple more out is as much as we will do.
Psg signed ugarte for 50, his value has dropped. Both parties want to move on… we should hold firm and pay no more than 40mil. Remember we signed di Maria for 57 and a year later sold him to PSG for 44 mil 😂
I think so far it's mainly due to player contracts running out, and previously United would give them a bumber new deal even when the majority of the time they didnt even deserve an extension never mind a pay increase, Phil Jones getting a new contract whilst he was still injured comes to mind. Ineos at least are not that stupid. However i question if they are ruthless enough when it comes to players like Maguire and Rashford who must go. But they also have their difficulties because they're trying to get rid of players on huge contracts that they didn't originally give. Radcliffe said it would take a few transfer windows and I think that's easy to see, so got to he patient. As long as the players all stay fit and we finally have a consistent style of play, ideally keeping the ball and attacking. Or maybe a deep lying player maker. LCM: id probably go for a box to box physical (tall) midfielder to win duels in the air and carry the ball forward as rotation option. Striker- id only want a striker whos known for their professionalism and experience rather than ego and huge salary. Im thinking a Henrick Larson type striker who we signed years ago. Left back option, easy Kadioglu is the only one i want.
Buying another striker would be fucking ridiculous. We shouldn’t sell Erikson, 5 million is not worth what his cover for Kobbie would be. It’s only left back which would make any sense after Ugarte, if it makes any sense at all. We can always keep our money for another day.
What I’m most positive about is if Lindelof, Sancho, Pellistri (confirmed), Wheatley (loan), Hannibal all leave we have a great balance of depth and quality. It’s the central midfield and defensive midfield which is currently over stacked with numbers but lacks quality. Personally I would’ve liked if we sold Casemiro and brought in Ugarte&Amrabat. Then sold Eriksen, McTominay & Gore to find someone like a FDJ.
I agree with almost everything you said but ur squad building isn’t accurate imo cos our FB position (left and right), is one more injury away from being a crisis. So, I’d say if we miraculously get Ugarte on loan and sell all those players u mentioned, a CM and FB is priority.
We didn’t want Neves we want Ugarte, stop taking shots at him every time you talk about him, when you’re singing his praises next season (if we get him) I hope you’ll remember that he was the player that you didn’t really want coming to this club.
Ugarte on loan with an obligation to buy will be great bit of business & unless Eriksen & McTominay leave i highly doubt we'll sign another midfielder. Signing another LB is unlikely to happen unfortanately although we might revisit that area in January if Shaw is still struggling. All in all a window of Zirkzee, Yoro, De Ligt, Mazraoui & Ugarte that is a pretty good first window under INEOS imo. Squad Goalkeepers - Onana, Bayindir, Heaton Defenders - Martinez, Yoro, De Ligt, Dalot, Mazraoui, Shaw, Amass, Maguire, Evans, Malacia, Lindelof Midfielders - Mainoo, Mount, Bruno, Casemiro, Ugarte, McTominay, Collyer, Eriksen Forwards - Hojlund, Zirkzee, Garnacho, Rashford, Amad, Sancho, Antony, Wheatley That's pretty much a very good strong squad with good depth
If we do manage to sell those players especially Mctominay and get Ugarte on loan I think we wack a big fee on the table for Branthwhaite/Wharton or Ferguson on the last couple days of the window. 3 young players Ineos wants.
My problem with our midfield is we still don't have someone to give those Hollywood passes. That is the only aspect of Mainoo's games that he needs to develop. You look at Arsenal they've Odegard and Partey from deep midfield. United has just Bruno, maybe Csemiro but if he drops to the bench, who do we have to unlock opportunities with these passes?
Bro, why is no one talking about the youngster we signed from Arsenal? That’s not even mentioned in the signing list you gave. Make me more proud to be United fan. ❤
I think you have it wrong. I think Mount is playing up there because of injuries and a lack of other options. Mount and Ten Hag both said he was an 8 when we signed him. Also, Zirkzee is not a striker, hes a CAM. Therefore, we need a striker!
@@TomJ_3 What an insightful response 👏 Mount and Ten Hag have both actually said themselves that he is a number 8. Zirkzee played the vast majority of his games for Bologna in a number 10, rather than a number 9 role 👍
United clinging on McTominay is a war crime .. the only player that can actually bring us pure profit money to invest and we can't be ruthless enough with him ..
If this summer's transfer window proves to be the best since Sir Alex Ferguson's era, it may signal a pivotal moment where the choices made today redefine the club's future legacy.
They have opened up the chest and put the defibrillator in, but we have quite stitched up the wound yet, so the heart is being correctly but we are still in danger. The recovering will be long and maybe painfully at times, but ultimately, the body will be in better condition
Keep Eriksen as back up to Kobbie. He's a passer and, for a paltry 5 million, just isnt worth removing from the squad at the moment with such limited reaources in that position. Going by that list, and we will get injuries, we'll be incredibly light in the depth of the squad. I realy like Collyer but is he premier league proven? Definitely not...otherwise we will be lookikg at another season where we are incredibly light in midfield after an injury or two.
We need more quality in depth in the midfield. Keep and promote Oyedele into the first team. Oyedele has a football brain and skills. He is very composed on the ball even under pressure is quick when he has the passing range and can beat the press.ETH needs to keep and use Oyedele to play in the early group stage of the Europa or Cup to gain more first-team experience. No need to repeat Pogba's mistake.
Dont agree with your logic, we are losing way too much depth. Mids are too light, we should keep scottie. Arguably his run allowed Zirkzee to find the gap and score. He isnt “man utd quality” but his work ethic and love for the club is good enough in the rebuilding phase when we also need to retain some depth.
New LB is essential the imbalance at LB is there with dalot or mazraoui out there even though they are good Hermoso on a free made sense to cover CB and LB loan with obligation for ugarte pure gold idea to save funds this summer sell mctominay perhaps get amrabat as a backup and for me LB is essential
I still think we got the Joao Neves situation all wrong. Considering how much PSG paid for him we massively missed out on an opportunity there. I believe he will be the one that got away and we will be thinking of what could have been... If we had to sign him as early as we did Yoro and now be figuring out how to sign Mazraoui and de Ligt going into the final week of the transfer window. It wouldnt have been that difficult considering de Ligt agreed to personal terms fairly easy and Mazraoui moving was determined by AWB leaving.
Honestly speaking i would prefer casemiro to ugarte because of the passing ability casemiro has over ugarte which can allow casemiro to act like a deep line playmaker which would be wonder in our 4-2-4 setup
Do you not get it, he’s a sellable asset personally he should have gone years ago not need better strength in depth mcshite has been here for too long and has only had one decent season out of 6 if you want to climb higher up the table you need better players
Mount and Mainoo should be splitting that role all season.. Mainoo shouldn’t be playing 50+ games at his age.. he will be burned out.. Mount has to play there or it’s 60 down the drain as he isn’t ever starting as a 10
