This was their goal all along. Whoever thought they could keep their target gun or shotgun were sadly mistaken. The controllists will simply say "Oh too bad, but you just need to find a different sport to enjoy". And that will be that.
So according to the Scottish gov, shooting fixed targets is noisier than game or clay shooting. Riiight. Also, remember to answer the required 'about you' section' as well as section 6.2
The bigger question is wy are we being persecuted we are country people doing country things . It's the same as the couler or ethnic minority problem we need hower rights aa country folk
There is sadly so much wrong with how our country is governed and ran but being in the firearms community for around 17 years i just dont feel like enough people have the drive to push up against the BS we're faced with. I find that too many people will whinge and whinge but won't put themselves out to try and change things.
@@thepenultimateninja5797 as an individual yeah but it would be harder for them if there was an organisation to push it. Not the ones we currently have that mainly work on the defence but one that works on the offense but in the right way.
These short-form videos are essential to raise awareness of issues. Not many people are going to watch a long live-stream but most people will watch a shorter video like this. Kudos!
I filled this form in, not only the 28 day rules but a host of other crap, compulsory smart metres, recycling levies charged on all recyclable goods. Very wordy and long to get through. The 28 day rule is the last on a long list nicely tucked away so it will get missed by most. Talk about back door politics pathetic really. You just can’t believe this 2023, opening up permitted development rules to allow wind generators, solar panels ground pumps and god knows what all installed with no planning permission by who ever wants to. Free for eyes sores that just don’t work and don’t save the planet.
I just find it confusing how they are wasting all this energy and money attacking the law-abiding members of are society when there is real work to be done this country borders on lawlessness at this moment.
We’ll done for raising this, all shooters need to share with RFD’s, shooting organisations and mates. The only way to keep shooting is if we all team together and smash all these bloody annoying consultations.
Its a ridiculous overreaction to one range having problems with (influential) neighbours and an MSP being forced to be seen to be doing something. 100% sledgehammer to crush a nut situation.
It's taken me a while but I've finally got round to doing this consultation - thanks for the video giving concise and relevant information regarding the consultation - I can't believe how biased and misleading the entire question on the consultation is!
I don’t understand why people even want to shoot in the UK anymore. It just looks so uninteresting and save for this man, there doesn’t seem to be a soul in the entire community who wants gun ownership to be more liberal and in line with continental Europe. The NRA and BASC seem like they don’t care at all that the sport they’re dedicated to has been reduced so much over the past few decades. At this point it seems better to go on vacation and visit a range in wherever you’re going to.
8:56 The question reads to me as, summarised, "Do you have any comments?" so intuitively I'd answer "Yes" and then give a reason why the change is a bad idea. Am I reading this wrong? Edit: Please read the response below, the radio button answer applies to the overall proposal (So "No" means disagree) but you are still welcome to give a response.
Oddly, and rarely talked about, British losing their guns did not come without consequences. After the fall of France in 1940, Britain’s laissez faire attitude towards firearms routed them into a dire predicament. They found themselves with no firearms with which to protect themselves. Embarrassingly, soldiers unfamiliar with real firearms were required to drill with umbrellas, canes, and sticks. Americans, with a strong gun culture in place, stepped in to assist. In November 1940, the American Committee for the Defense of British Homes placed advertisements in United States newspapers and in magazines such as American Rifleman asking readers to “Send A Gun to Defend a British Home-British civilians, faced with threat of invasion, desperately need arms for the defense of their homes.” As a result of these ads, pro-Allied organizations in the United States collected weapons, with assistance from the National Rifle Association, and shipped 7,000 guns to Britain. Winston Churchill wrote in Their Finest Hour: “When the ships from America approached our shores with their priceless arms, special trains were waiting in all the ports to receive their cargoes. The Home Guard in every county, in every town, in every village, sat up all through the night to receive them …. By the end of July, we were an armed nation … a lot of our men and some women now had weapons in their hands.”
Here in Australia ( New South Wales) pistol shooters have to have a minimum number of shoots per year, a single calibre owner has to do a minimum of six shoots per year, if you have multiple calibre's that gets blown out to nine. But if you are a (fair dinkum) shooter it is an easy task. A rifle shooter depending on the endorsements on their licence, target or hunting have to complete a minimum of six shoots per year at an accredited range. Property owners can hold a permit for vermin control, but the minimum size of the property from memory is 25 acres.
