I found Brother “Al” here on youtube around 2016 and loved his storytelling and mountain biking adventures. On his channel he shared he was a kidney warrior and taking us to his weekly dialysis appointments. Having worked in Nephrology, I respected that he did not let his medical condition dictate and limit his life. Al showed us how he was LIVING and encouraging us to be #GoodHumans.
On this lovely day, Hubs and I were visiting #AugustaGA during the Iron Man competition where Al was vlogging. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to compete because of his medical condition. We chatted it up for a good while and promised to get back up to Augusta for a bike ride. Our next trip to Augusta, we were 20 weeks pregnant and didn’t get a chance to connect.
Sadly I learned of Al’s passing after not getting a response to DJ our wedding ceremony and noticing he hadn’t posted any new content. This was heartbreaking news but the kind comments posted online as Good Humans shared stories of how he impacted their lives was heartwarming. Al has been heavy on my mind lately and I wanted to share this video highlighting the positive side of being a content creator and focusing on the impact you may have on complete strangers who become great friends and family.
My mountain bike was collecting dust and spider webs in the garage until I took it out recently and have Al in my heart and on my mind every bike ride.
Love You Al!
