That poor kid screaming on the descent! My earliest memory of being on a plane, not only was it going to Fuerteventura but it was so painful on my ears! Great video! Am delighted to be making this route again in a few months time.
Nice video, I don't think the engine sounds are "abnormal" you were put in an initial climb hold which is normal out of London airports so inbound and outbound aircraft don't cross through holding patterns. Most Gatwick departures do that. But nice footage.
Amazing video! I've watched it about 5 times all the way through, and it's really getting me and the whole family in the holiday spirit! We're also doing exactly the same (Thomas cook Gatwick to FUE), and it gives me an idea of what to expect!
I have flown to fue for 5 years now and the best time to fly is on January on a six am flight it gives you a incredible sunrise over the coast of Africa
stuart curtis Thanks a lot! Yes, there is a big community out there of people that do not enjoy flying, takeoff and landing can be daunting for anyone! All you have to remember is that it is the safest mode of transport and you have a 1million to one chance of being even in a regular crash. The best part is watching out of the window and listening to the engines roar! As someone that dedicated most of my life to aviation, I love to predict parts of the flight, turns, climbs, descents etc. On most occasions, I would try to visit the flightdeck and have a chat to the crew! Talk to them about the flight and the aircraft. It's great to be able to meet who is flying the plane and get to know them. I doubt there will ever be a time that I will walk on to a plane and not be excited ahaha :D
Conor010 Aviation Channel ✈✈ Great video, always hate it when throttle is reduced ~30-45 seconds into takeoff. Makes you feel like the plane is defending and the engines are turning off.
HMCreviews Trust me, if the pilots believed that the aircraft would struggle, I don't think they would do it ahaha. In fact the 757 only has 2/3rds the available weight than it has available in thrust. These RB211 engines are extremely powerful indeed! If you didn't already know (sorry if I'm blabbing on about stuff you already know), commercial liners rarely takeoff with full thrust. If they did, it would be pointless and expensive! It can cause engine ware and it's very loud for the people living below the flightpath. On takeoff, thrust is reduced by a maximum of 25%, in general, the more runway they have, the most they will make out of it.
Haha! Yes, very true! Unfortunately, they don't seem to mix very well. You won't often board a plane with a baby that will not cry at all. Oh well... Thanks for your comment! :-)
Aside from the continuously screaming baby, which really put a damper on the last 15 minutes or so (and which also was obviously NOT your fault!), this was just an excellent vid. Very nice scenery and simply awesome sounds coming from those engines. Great job!
Thanks mate! I definitely agree with the screaming and yelling babies and kids! It is horrible knowing that they've spoilt a video when your filming, very frustrating! I'm glad they weren't screaming throughout the takeoff and climb as the sound from the RB211's is just phenomenal! Thanks again :D
Conor010 Aviation Channel ✈✈ Well, kids are kids right.......it's not like they're doing it on purpose or anything! Just call it an occupational hazard of flying. ;) It's just gonna happen sometimes. As I said.....your vid was still excellent! And, yeah, those RB211's were truly singing in all their glory there......I'd say they're my absolute favourite engine! Luckily, they often can be found on my favourite plane as well...the 757....which is very nice indeed! Many thanks to you for posting this great vid! Hope to see more great stuff from you in the future.
turbofanlover I guess... the B757 and RB211 are by far my favorite aircraft and engine, just wish that they were still manufacturing the 757 :( They'll be in double figures next year! I look forward to every 757 flight :D Thank you!
Conor010 Aviation Channel ✈✈ Yeah....it's really sad to see them being slowly phased out. All of us 757 lovers will just simply have to enjoy watching them (or better yet..............flying on them!) as often as we can while they're still around. :)
Great vid, really enjoyed it. Flown on 757's more times than I can care to remember. But why do parents have to inflict their screaming infants on everyone. It's so annoying for everyone else. Not a relaxing way to start a holiday
I completely understand the screaming though because I remember being on planes at a young age. The descents REALLY hurt your ears the younger you are and I'm so glad as an adult it doesn't hurt anymore! Kids on planes are often inconsolable, not at any fault of the parents, but because the pressure changes REALLY fucking hurt when you're a kid!
Parents, give that child the bottle! Babies can`t compensate the pressure on their ears, therefore the descent is painful for them - They can only relieve when swallowing fluid.
Do you know whether all of Thomas Cooks planes will be getting the new "Sunny Heart" livery? It's such a modern change from the previous design. Great video, shame about the landing! Subscribed.
I don't really know? As for all TCX aircraft without the full repaint, I don't think they will get it. The B752's are up for retirement next year (I think) so i doubt they would make any changes to them. I haven't heard much news about TCX and what they are doing with their planes :(. Thanks for your comment! Yep, a bit of a shame but we made it safely! ;)
hi guys I'm going to America to miami in September I'm super scared of heights I'm 17 years of age I will be 18 though got any tips on how not to be scared
My advice is enjoy it, you'll be nervous obviously as was I and I'm 32 not flown since I was 13 and also scared of heights lol. You have absolutely nothing to worry about it's a doddle 👍🏻
bazza81100 Lots of kids and babies on this flight. Thankfully i don't mind the A321. But it is like the A319 and A320, It is one cabin rather than the split cabins in the 757's. The A320 family aircraft all feel the same. Great sound though. Nothing wins over the 757 (especially the -300)
bazza81100 Since the aircraft was replaced, the seat plan changed. I was annoyed at check in since they were allocating everyone seats (bearing in mind i payed to select one on the internet.) But I can't fault her choice! She put me in 9A which was perfect! Couldn't have picked a better seat myself! Just a waste of money. I was hoping to get an evening takeoff but we didn't depart until about 11PM. Pitch black, you couldn't see anything. Didn't you say ur flying on a B752 next month?
I loved every minute, since it's my favorite plane and I've been wanting to go on it for years! Have loads of fun! There was no IFE but I was happy just looking out the window the whole flight! Where are you sitting may I ask? You'll probably we on G-JMAB as that's been doing that route recently :D The cabin was recently outfitted with new seating but the legroom is not that good.
To be honest I cant remember much but I believe they are Recaro seats (pretty solid) They are quite nice and comfortable, don't think they recline, airlines these days are scrapping seats with recline, especially with the tight legroom. If you have never been on a 757-300 before, you will notice how long it is! You probably won't hear much at the front since the RR engines are quite far back but you are lucky to get on one of 2 Boeing 757-300's in the U.K! They are known as pencil planes, if you didn't know already, I'll let you figure it out! :D We had no IFE but you might get lucky, not too sure. Have a nice holiday!
rose Mai Sorry form the late reply, If I'm honest, I can't really remember, but with past experience, the Spanish are really easy to get through passport control. They barely look at it!
i really want to fly again but litterally im commenting in the middle of the knight after arriving home from Austria and im goingcto kos (greek island) in October.
Same!! That's funny because i'm commenting in the middle of the night after just arriving home from Florida after an 8 hour flight. I'm going to Barcelona in October. That's kinda funny! :D
Apart from the baby screaming forever this was a brilliant video WHO takes a BABY abroad in a high heat environment?? Don’t they realise, babies sweat glands haven’t even developed fully. So they can’t sweat to keep cool, in my eyes that’s incredibly inconsiderate, not only for the poor baby but to passengers who have worked hard and saved hard to have a RELAXING holiday, only to hear a baby screaming it’s lungs out the whole flight. It’s dangerous and borderline child abuse, if you ask me I think the constant screaming gives it away smh 🤦♂️ Some people don’t deserve to be called parents, they are just self centred idiots.
