The Thomas Crown Affair, with Steve McQueen remains, along with Chinatown, my two favorite all-time movies. As for McQueen himself, he's my No.1 Guy. Always was, aways will be.
I was actually there for the filming of this scene. My brother was the polo player who taught Steve McQueen to play for this scene. He stayed with my brother’s boss while they were filming in the area. I met Faye Dunaway as well and, as an extra, I was filmed for a scene that ultimately got cut. It was a cool experience that I will always remember.
Filmed at Myopia Polo club, Hamilton MA. I caddied there during one high-school year myself. I lived just a couple miles away, on Asbury street. Big, big crowd, when they came and filmed. Same with Elizabeth Montgomery when they filmed episodes in Salem and Gloucester for episodes of "Bewitched". Visit the North Shore of MA and the entire area. History abounds. General Patton lived in Hamilton as well. About 4 miles from my front door. My father even fought under him in WW2. Small world. Lots and lots of history all about.
