+S3ISOR I was just bone lucky to find this stock. I have not been able to secure a box of MINIS before they are put on display, in fact the shops I go to will not release the stock to the consumer as an unopened box. I think there may be some rules in place related to this style of product. I have tried a few times to order boxes of MINIS as complete cases, every time my order is refused. If ever I wanted help from Mattel it's this series of toys, but hey I did it the hard way, spent way too much money trying to understand how they were being sold to joe public. In a single year I easily spend $20.000 on toys, thats just a sad fact of what I look at online. Lots of toys never make it to review. I should showcase the ones that get sidelined, and explain why one day.

Hey Leo thanks for showing that the Gold Thomas is in Series 4! He's probably my favorite, or the ice Skarloey. And about Mike, he was one of the Aresdale engines from the original Rev. W Awdry books, the books that started the Thomas And Friends series off! Suprised to see him back! Now All we gotta wait for is Culdee and the rest of the mountain engines!

We watch loads of unwrapping minis videos. This is our favourite. Such detail. Such passion. Such trainwrecks. My 5 year old says "The DC minis I like are Thomas as Batman, and Charlie as The Riddler. I have lots including Superman and Harley Quinn" my 5 year old also says "wash your hands, guy!" 😛.

Wave 4 have some amazing Minis. Just ordered some online and got them today. Been looking for a long time but they haven't been stocked in stores near me yet... sadly. Probably because they order heaps of the same Wave and it doesn't sell after a while, because everyone has them. My favourites are Neon James, Robot Millie, Winter Skarloey and Batman Thomas haha. This won't be the final releases of the Minis, they are so popular that Mattel are designing completely new themes such as Sweets, Creatures and Sports. Super excited! :)

I bumped into wave 4 yesterday at Walmart but could only find a few bags...I did however find a few four packs with 3-4 trains I needed... And a couple single bags... We only need 75-Ben and 82- flash... They're are 3 DC box sets 1, 9pack and 2, 4packs ... There is a 50 pack box set that has 5 exclusive warrior theme trains. An advent calendar which also has 5 exclusives Green lantern is in the second release play wheel SDCC had the exclusive batman and cyborg

Something interesting I noticed about the waves. In each wave the first engine is always a Thomas, the second is always a Percy, the third is always a James, and the fourth is always a Gordon.

I just visited my local walmart and they only have up to #60. guess I have to wait to surprise my little man with the golden Thomas. instead of buying the wheel with Thomas, I have bought him some bead organizers, the minis fit perfectly and we have painted thomas on the cover of the boxes. :)

you keep apologising for using the iPhone camera but honestly if you hadn't of mentioned it I probably wouldn't have noticed. Even though you did say there wasn't a noticeable drop in video quality, these 'phones' have very decent cameras these days. Favourites from this wave would probably be the paint-splattered James. I'm still not necessarily a fan of the range overall but I think I might look into them at some point, maybe just pick up the 'classics' as they're the only ones I'm really bothered about.

+Tidmouth Milk I remember a few people asking for me to do a toy review video only using an iPhone, well in the end this is it. The iPhone camera works better outdoors in sunlight (just like a gopro), the part you never saw was the massive job of colour correcting this video. There is also lots of motion blur Vs the Minis wave 3 video. I think fast moving little trains need to be presented crisp to the viewer. Weird how both my cameras failed within a week.

After a long search today (3 Coles, Kmart and Target) I had no luck finding this wave, but I found the Advent Calendar (which wasn't even meant to be released in AU as far as I know) at Kmart for $59... This is a very very nice wave, can't wait to pick the rest of them.That display track/wheel/thing is a really awesome way to display these toys; you're spot on with the painted wheels, they're mesmerising!! Interesting that they've tacked the DC ones onto the end... I wonder how long they were planned... In terms of characters, the introduce the new ones so they have some addition to the story (from a SiF interview); the wanted Gator to be scary to tie in with Tale of the Brave. Still good footage, though the exposure is what gave it away to me

mike the miniature engine and his friends were part of the old books. it would appear they introducing the old characters again. these locos in real life live on a railway in the uk called the ravenglass and eskdale railway.

Awesome video! I have to admit that Wave 4 is the best wave yet, especially because they released the Chillin Skarloey. I know that other people have already told you about Mike the Arlesdale Engine but I'll just tell you a few things anyway. Mike is from the Arlesdale Railway which was once the railway where Duke, Stuart and Falcon worked. He was first introduced in the Railway Series book, "Small Railway Engines", which was written by the Rev. W. Awdry and was released in 1967. The reason why he was put into the new movie was because the writers wanted to celebrate the 70th year anniversary by bringing out some character that he created which never came into the original model series. I hope Godzilla gets his teeth sharped, because if he can't bite into Metallic, he can't do anything. I can't wait for your next video :)

Looking for a new camera? I have my eye on the new Sony RX100 IV. Very small, does 4K and can do 1,000 fps for those slow motion videos. $1,000 in the U.S. So probably $1,300 in Aus.

+kkehoe5 Thanks, I will investigate that camera. Dare say the trend these days is use a DSLR camera, but for me they have too many buttons and seem complicated, also not keen on removable lenses. All I need is something that has good close up ability and shutter control thats deeper than a sports shooting option. I also really like the idea of a manual focus ring, I just don't feel comfortable without one. What I liked about my old JVC cameras that have now gone bust was the microphone position, it was perfect for talking during my little reviews.

+kkehoe5 I just took a look at that Sony camera, looks like they are copying the style of cameras Casio were doing a few years ago. But with much better resolutions. I used to be a Sony person for many years, but have not used sony for the past 8 years. Basically all my RU-vid time was not using Sony products. Again thanks for you idea about looking into that camera.

+kkehoe5 Don't buy that Sony, big overheating problems and only short bursts of slowmo available, thats useless unless you can pull longer than a few seconds of shooting. It's totally overpriced for a camera thats got some big limitations. Audio quality is rubbish as well.

Leo, the only thing I think is wrong with the Thomas Minis is where are some of the classic characters such as Boco, Duck, Donald, Douglas, Oliver, Rheneas, Sir Handel, Peter Sam, Duke, Rusty, Duncan, and Mavis. These were among the classic era when I was growing up, back when ertl Thomas was in its prime. Besides the missing characters these are great little toys, now all they need is some basic rolling stock and they would be good. Great video as always Leo.

+winston jian The apple iPhone 5 has 120fps, the iPhone6 has 240fps settings. This was shot with a iPhone5s, I'm banned from using my wifes iPhone6 because I damaged it with explosives in a previous video
