Daniel Marrs and Nikki Getman from Thomas Nelson provided an overview of the Wiersbe Study Bible during my recent visit to Nashville. It will be available in February of 2019.
I have this Bible. What a blessing! It has wonderful features for a study Bible. I have vision impairment but I am able to read from it for prolonged periods of time with no issues. The darkness of the print helps tremendously.
Thanks for the review. I bought the black letherflex/imitation leather version. I love the NKJV because it is more literal than the NIV, ESV, RSV, etc. We get the benefit of 60 plus years of Pastor Wiersbe's scholarship and Bible knowledge.
I hope in the days to come that the WSB will be available in other translations. The NKJV is a good translation but not everybody would be willing to let go of their favorite translation in order to buy this edition. I do hope that it enjoys a wide readership and use. I could easily see the WSB notes paired with the NASB, ESV, NIV, CSB, etc.
I have a bunch of bibles on Tecarta bought during promo periods, and it gives you the option of combining any version you own with any study bible content. For instance if you prefer ESV, NIV, NASB, CSB you can read that along with WSB notes and feature content. Actually just purchased a hardcopy WSB. I've not explored other electronic platforms but their offerings may be similar. But Tecarta does a nice job, I like to view two parallel versions in left and center, then study notes in right column on my iPad. Very flexible column presentation. I'll wait for next promo to get WSB there as well if I think the price is satisfactory.
@@Suomitenango Thank you for chiming in about Tecarta's flexibility. I do have a CSB-dedicated version of Tecarta on my Android phone. Sometimes, I bring a different translation with me to church based on our co-pastors' preferred translation choices (neither use the CSB which I love) but always have Tecarta on-hand for comparison. When I was in Bible College we actually received college credit for buying Logos and completing a training course. The dominant translations used there were the NASB & the NKJV so I'm very accustomed to switching it up. If I decide to become more tablet/iPad focused for my Bible study, I will keep keep you recommendations under advisement. Suomi - I recognized that as my wife's family is Finnish. What does tenango mean?
@@jerrynkathy Good to hear your reply! 'Tenango' is a suffix that you find in the name of several Guatemalan towns, it means 'wall of the Gods' although I just looked that up, not recalling the meaning. I have a Guatemalan born family member so that's why you see the two respective flags in my avatar. To me, it's simply a Guatemalan reference that I used in a mash-up of sorts with the Suomi - which reflects my dad's family ancestry and therefore mine as well! I'm with you on the version mix and match, on any given day at church we use NKJV for sermons and ESV in our adult class. I go back and forth on print vs. online, but the version switching is convenient on a tablet. 10" is probably best for that purpose. And if you do get interested, this is usually the time of year to do it most cheaply, both for the tablet and the Tecarta bibles where *most* study bibles were 7.99 and standalone versions were 1.99 last year. I did spend 14.99 for ESV Study Bible on promo. There are a few commentaries out there too. Otherwise I'm not savvy on other platforms like Logos or Olive Tree, I just kind of 'fell into' Tecarta because I needed an NKJV when we joined our present church and I liked their presentation best out of all the apps I could see at the time.
Awesome! I have trouble recommending study bibles - but can't see why I wouldn't recommend Wiersbe - have to see how the editors put his notes together on some of the eschatological sections and creation section.
Hello. Audio wasn’t that clear but was able to hear the main points to this Bible. Still unclear about index of outlines, which really don’t have outlines for said topics.
