Germany's javelin stars joined us on the sofa for Episode 4 of our How Well Do You Know Me series. So how deep does the friendship run between Johannes Vetter and Thomas Röhler?
Vetter seems like an overconfident guy. I recall the interview he gave to an Indian Media house saying "Neeraj Chopra is good but tough for him to beat me" but on the contrary, Vetter failed to be in the top 8 list of Men's Javelin Thrower at #Tokyo2020 and Neeraj won Gold there. Lesson to be learned: 1. Don't be overconfident. 2. Don't see your competition as weak. 3. Stay humble and fire when it matters the most. 4. Wait for the right time to respond.
He is humble. He said it was tough competition for someone to beat him. He consistently threw 90+ but just couldn’t deliver on the day. After Neeraj winning gold, Vetter said he is very happy for Neeraj Chopra’s achievements.
too bad Vetter is a quitter and rolled over in the Olympics, I saw him fake the leg injury, I wonder how much he got paid for that. Rohler is the real champion, not a pretender like Vetter
