Whites never to see block man doing good for his country. They come underground to spy and fine ways to distract you and your governments and seize your plans ideas to turn it to their own,at the end they want you to become a borrower so that they will say they help you in another wards stealing you, lets unite Africans brothers and sisters.
I am so stunned that my history class taught me more about George Washington, Napoleon, Queen Elizabeth, Winston Churchill and all other overseas leaders and never taught me enough about people like Thomas Sankara. Let me be honest, I just came across this video by accident and from where I am (South Africa) there is not much documented nor even said about leaders of his calibre and this was the first time I even heard that he existed. And from now on, I shall dig every piece of history about him... Rest in peace, Son of Africa.
+Qhawe Teyise Our war in Africa is with VESTED INTERESTS and they certainly do not want many Thomas Sankaras running around in Africa with such esoteric ideas as good leadership, modesty, self sufficiency, respect, accountability and the likes.
where you were two years ago is exactly where i am two years later. This great man of Africa was never taught in the books of history in Kenya. I'm saddened, even our systems choose to omit such great people from the history. From now on, ill dig deeper into this man's past.
Qhawe Teyise south africa is as bourgeois as any other country that isnt cuba or the dprk and as a communust thomas sankara is a threat to them which is why they dont teach about thr reality about communist hustory
Although I agree with you, I think you all should said "One of the best leaders of Africa". You are very young and don't realize that before Sankara, there were Leaders that were like Sankara. They were killed before some of you were born. So please, do some research on some before saying that "Sankara best African leader"
Sankara is the greatest African leader. He lived a life and died a hero. It's such a shame there are many unsung heroes from Africa that aren't taught in our schools. RIP Sir. I'll forever love you.
Adeola, I don't know how to thank you for this amazing video for my country Burkina Faso! Stay bleesed your whole life! I love you! May God bless Nigeria, Amen!
True, but there were positive lights before him. Like Ghana's Kwame Nkrumah and Nigeria's Nnadi Azikiwe & Obafemi Awolowo...but colonialism made sure their stars just like Sankara's never saw the light of day, and ever shrouded in the clouds of their evil grip.
This will never get old. Thanks for sharing with the entire world a pure paradigm of an upright man, President Thomas Sankara. I’m from Burkina Faso 🇧🇫.
Sankara my namesake, was truly a man of the people,in 4years of just being power alot was achieved in his country,That is the type of leadership Africa needs,May his soul rest in peace.
I don't know why the continent doesn't honor Thomas Sankara. He is the best there was, the best there will ever be from Africa! It has to be mandatory to learn about Thomas Sankara. A quote from the man himself about us Africans "We must dare to invent the future. Everything man is capable of imagining, he can create"
Thank you sister for representing this video again to the world about our hero forever. As a Burkinabe, the pain is still a challenge to take away... Thomas Sankara was and will still the true father of all the Burkinabes. Stay blessed 😘
Women have always been strong and courageous in revolutionary struggle for the liberation of the oppressed. Thomas Sankara A TRUE REVOLUTIONARY A FRIEND AND BROTHER OF THE OPPRESSED.
Tomas Sankara was one of a kind. A true African hero. Burkina Faso lost a great man. And Africa lost a great, young, bright, visionary and incorruptible leader and revolutionary. A huge part of Africa died on the day that Sankara was betrayed and murdered by Blaise, with help from his French masters. Sankara's blood will forever be cast upon Burkina Faso. Hopefully, his blood will serve to cleanse things for that country.
Thanks a lot Adeola. One think you did not mention. Thomas Sankara was the only leader in the world, that his car used to stopped at a traffic light when the light was red. He was truly a leader not a ruler.
Abraham Alarape An Africa leader who needs more attention and study is Seretse Khama, the first president of Botswana. He laid the foundation for Botswana's democracy and it's better run economy. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C1iWS7BQlqc.html
I wish we had such a powerful voice of history and social scientific perspective in journalism in respect of a culture of liberation born from the fire of truth in the United States. I am sold on this channel. All respect to this young woman.
Sankara a great leader with an excellent vision for the future of Africa. I hope that the current Africans leaders follow this model. Sankara’s spirit will be with us for ever:
Abraham Akuok be like him starting from now... don't wait for that kind of opportunity... it may never come. what matters is that we're doing what we can from where we are
Thank you very much Queen for the education. I’ve just watched this video for the second time. After the initial view, I had to watch the history of Africa’s greatest leader in my opinion Thomas Sankara. I appreciate your channel and all that you guys do. It’s so entertaining, I see his spirit in your work. I never would have known so much about Africa if it wasn’t for your channel. May the God of Abraham continue to bless you guys. You guys are priceless to me.
it's NOT my country but after watching this i cant help myself tearing up. In every weak nation's history there's always a patriotic man who tried his best to change people's lives for the better. Sad to say he lost his life bec. of friend's white master. Hope to hear someday that this man~Sankara will be relocated in a peaceful place with a hero's burial ceremony😢😢😢. Whata man to remember!
Kudos to the people of Bokina Faso for overthrowing that greedy for power puppet and murderer, who took the life of this brilliant young Panafrikanist who did so much for his people. RIP Thomas Sankara. Thanks for sharing my sister.
Great video! It's so true about killng the ones we should celebrate and celebrating those we should get rid of. Let's start celebrating the great minds before they're gone...
Thank you so much. This is a real tribute to Sankara. Of course, there are many more brilliant things he tried in the country. The loss is unspeakable, but we don't despair. There are new virtuous cycles in store for Burkina Faso, and for Africa.
I have to say, you're amazing in what you do. We are continually inundated with the west's polution and no one ever speaks about our reality here in Africa. The great deeds of these African legends are thrown under the carpet but the nonsense of the outsiders becomes the face on the news. keep up what you're doing, hopefully one day we will celebrate in a better world.
The death of Thomas Sankara re-vibrated around the world. I remembered vividly as a little boy traveling to Lagos for the first time and hearing the news. As long as Africans are not loyal to one another, this is what you get time and again. Thomas Sankara was told of his friend's plot to assassinate him but he did not believe it. Good people see no evil and hear no evil. RIP Sankara, you've done your best and history will judge all.
Thanks Adeola, I was looking for a short clip to educate me about Thomas Sankara and yours did the trick. Great job! Great presenting!!...Great keeping it real!!!
Good people don't last long. I see why they got him killed. The Europeans did not like the self sufficiency of Africa he was promoting. He is the best leader africa has produced. I will watch his documentary & read more about him. I would like to learn more about him.
how would Africa being self sufficient hurt Europe? if anything it would help..imagine Europe being able to keep all its foreign AID $$..think of it this way...If I loaned you $$, would it benefit me for you to lose your job? of course not..losing your job guarantees I wont get repaid
@Ayres Official the West isnt "stealing" African resources..think of it like this, if the West were stealing Nigerian oil, then how does Nigeria make billions from that resource? usually if you steal something you dont pay for it..the more accurate way of saying it is, the West gave African countries crappy deals that benefit them way more than it benefits Africa..and that needs to change...
@@carsonc29 It definitely hurts Europe, at least at this time, this is what the white powerful men thought. If Africa is not self-sufficient, it says alot about their management and use of resources leaving them open to exploitation. Money is just printed paper, used as a medium of exchange, for the transfer of resources. Getting your money (paper) back (that you yourself printed) means nothing, if you are getting 10 times the value in natural resources.
Thank you for covering this! I am not from Africa, or black, but people like you will always have my support and gratitude! Sankara is on my very short list of admired political figures, maybe the headliner.
Well said and true, Adeola Fayehun. Thomas Sankara was cut before he could finish his exemplary work. But it is strange that the younger generation of presenters like you do not cover the whole of modern African history. How come Mwalimu Julius Nyerere of Tanzania is never spoken in such breath? Have you done enough research and seen his achievements? How he contributed (together with Ghana's Kwame Nkrumah and Ethiopia's Haile Selassie ) in forming the African Union (then called OAU) in 1963. How he made Tanzania headquarters (alongside Algeria and Ghana) for other Africans still struggling for independence. How many former freedom fighters and refugees may testify to this including some of the present African leaders in Zimbabwe, Angola, Mozambique, South Africa and so on. Even some of US Black Panthers settled in Tanzania and Ghana as a result. How he boldly led Tanzania to recognize Biafra (during Nigeria's civil war and genocide of 1967-70). How Dr Nyerere, single-handedly led Tanzania to topple Idi Amin of Uganda, a military killer who butchered at least a quarter of a million Ugandans 1971-79. How Mwalimu tried to steer Tanzania towards self reliance through Ujamaa (family) policies. Have you heard of Ujamaa? Some of its tenets are what the bold and courageous Thomas Sankara was trying to implement in Burkina Faso. Free education, health and opportunities. Even though Ujamaa failed (1967-85) Nyerere was the most original of the African leaders. Before anyone starts he was not even a Marxist. He resigned and did not have millions of cash stashed in foreign banks like some of his thieving colleagues. As a result of his principled stand and ideas, Tanzania remains one of the most (if not the most) peaceful nations in Africa. We haven't seen civilian war, (comparatively speaking to the rest of the continent) since the Maji Maji rebellion of 1905-1907...(when Germans ruled Tanganyika). Tanzanians have one language. Kiswahili a unifying non tribalistic language. Thanks to Mwalimu (teacher), Nyerere. Do more digging my dear and do justice to some of our departed ancestors. Meantime, keep up your excellent work. We adore what you you do.
Never underestimate women with wooden spoon! No truer words have been spoken sister. My mother was like Michael Jordan with a wooden spoon. SLAM dunk every time.
I am dedicating today to Thomas Sankara. A great leader he was. A leader who had a mind for his people. Honestly if we could have such leaders who don't have a compromised African mind which is toward the western orientation.
Well said, but why not even mention the great Moammar Gaddafi, founder of African Union and biggest supporter of independence and freedom of Africa.Sankara considered Gaddafi as his brother and guide.Nato and alqaeda gangsters desttoyed Libya while all Africa just sat and watched.
We could have send human shields to Tripoli. We are very much culpable in Qaddafi's demise. African leaders were so ungrateful. Only Musevini and Mugabe spoke against Nato's presence back then, but they didn't send troops to defend Libya. Sub Sahara Africans killed Qaddafi. His only crime was that he loved us so..
The same scenario always happens in Nigeria as well. Late Tunde Idiagbon the then deputy head of state under the military administration of Buhari introduced and formulated so many policies that was reviving Nigeria from her shallow economic pit but Babangida who was also part of the government then for cell took over the power tru coup and brought corruptions, political assassination, bad governance and many evil to Nigeria and there we are till today. I think all Africa youth most come together because we needs mass revolutionary movement to kick out these bastards of Africa and let Africa be.
A true President of an African State,President Thomas Sankara. His fellow Presidents detasted his uprightness.I wish he was still alive to show others the way to go
This is really educative... same thing happened to Abiola all becuase they knew he was going to turn around the fortune of the nation... thanks Adeola for making us know more about Thomas Sankara
Fela was loved and appreciated by all Nigerians, irrespective of ethnicity or religion, when he was alive and now. Adeola was probably not born when Fela was alive, that's why she thought that Nigerians did not celebrate him when he lived. She was right on point, on Thomas Sankara and Burkina Faso. I cannot wait enough for the Burkinabe government to restore Sankara totally by bringing Blaise Campaore and his gang to justice.
I have never hard such name or come across an icon like Thomas. Even all the politicians in my country and state have never ever used him as example. Or to do more better than him. Neither they will give instances from European world.😂😂, I must share this video. And tell the story to my children. I miss you Thomas Sankara. RIP
I really love Adeola.. Love from Uganda. Thx for keeping it real. It's sad how the real men died and were replaced by stooges. I believe that other Sankaras are rising .Africa must be free .
Thank you so much for the education I and the world has been missing. I first came across this clip of you on facebook talking about Thomas Sankara, I believe last year and because of you was able to do some more research on him. Unfortunately reading along with watching hour long documentaries is a big issue in our communities, however having you present the information the way you do makes it easier to educate the masses about this great African Leader and eventually we will have real econimical change. Thank you, you're truly amazing keep up the good work!
I'm a new subscriber in the US, and honestly, I know very, very little of African history--am trying to start to learn now. But this man was a wonder. That he was not corrupt, at least at first, did so much to encourage the people to be self-sufficient. Of course, it is sad that his gov't also had torture and human rights violations, harassment after the teacher strike, considering the other very good things--the medical improvements/innoculations, food sufficiency, elimination of corrupt govt officials. In my birth country, we also had a revolution and Marxists took over, but they became oppressors, tyrants, instead of liberators, and the country plunged into poverty and human rights violated consistently. It is always sad when someone who starts off doing good devolves into less good, but it's also sad when colonizers can't just STOP meddling. Let nations self-rule. Thank you, Adeola, for some history here. And it gives hope. IF a country can start turning things around in four years, it gives hope.
