Hey Guys,
A post holiday shave, I had all these ideas of doing this and that while away but no I just got this Thomas Turner Special Hollow Ground razor ready to test shave. I'm going to put some nice new scales on this one and it's going into my current keepers as its a rather splendid razor in my eyes and shaves great. A super close and tight shave was had by this quiet near wedge type razors.
Thomas Turner has a very good rep and made some fabulous tools, he's razor's are considered top notch by many and definitely me. I believe I was the first to really hone this and the grind profile and finish are wonderful. A nice weight and feel to this razor in hand.

Cheers Jaguar was a lovely break. I've got another Thomas Turner coming with some nice etching, some rust though so were have to see how well that one comes out. And you fella, a bank holiday day here today.

Hello, I've had a few come through me but this was the first one that spoke to me and said "keep me" All honed great and shaved top notch though. I do another video when I've re-scaled it..

I think early Sheffield makers were a bit lagging with the hollow grind tech. Hollow grinding was a krout invention after all 😂. Thomas Turner made good knives too . Glad you all had a good break with the scents and smells of the new forest, your very kind James my moustache will mature a bit before I decide its fate 😅🙏.

Yeah and they held onto there ways for quite a bit but to be fair I think they had a point as all my very best shavers are generally half hollows or at least not super fine hollows. I've got some barbers treaties and such from over a hundred years ago and they all state that the super fine hollows are not as good at shaving but are easier to maintain.. I've got another Turner coming and I've got a double razor Thomas Turner coffin box, just have to see what it's like when I get it as the pictures weren't that great. Great video my friend! Taconic was my first soap that actually gave me good results, before that I would use the generic shaving creams. Happy shaving!

It's a great soap and performs well, my only complaint if it is one is that I don't like how its in a little metal pot and its a bit hard not to get it coming over the sides. Have you put the puck in something? I might get myself a nice new shaving bowl for Christmas as it's the one thing I've not really got..

@@Sustainashave I completely agree, I usually save my other shaving pucks for example my used a&e I use for other soaps that have metal containers like taconic.

I did have spares but got others in them now, have to wait till Christmas to up my shaving bowl game! I'm not planning on buying more soaps always said I wouldn't go mad on them and now got about 10,lol...
