I already knew most of this. It’s nice to know that people will be able to find out that the mythological Thor wasn’t really “Point Break”. 😂 One thing, though. I thought Thor’s belt of strength doubled his physical might, not increased it tenfold.
I’ve tried to research this more and to be honest… I don’t think there’s any reference to a multiplier. In Gylfaginning, which is the first part of Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda, after Prologue, verse 45 refers to Thor's power-belt, The line "Hann spennir sik megingjörðum, ok óx honum ásmegin" means "He girded himself with his belt of strength, and his divine strength grew" (or something like that) so I think “double“ or “ten-fold” are just using common phrases to say, ‘his strength grew a lot’.
OMG now i won't look at Thor and Loki the same. Thor was an asshole I still like Loki though. This is sooo cool thank you Eddie for this informative story 🎉
Amazing stories. Seems like the comics find a name, read a succinct description and just run with making up stuff as they go along. LOL This is more interesting. Thank you!!
@@MystOfMythology Oh, I was a huge comic book fan. Had all the superheroes. They were lighter and more fun than now. But I must admit, I get a kick out of Deadpool. LOL
The allegorical knowledge and meaning behind this is far more incredible than the actual story. Same goes for all Pantheons of "gods" and the attached stories.
Awakening to the truth, I find myself drawn more to Loki than Thor. There's an undeniable allure to Loki's complex and unpredictable nature, his cunning wit and mischievous charm leaving a lasting impression. While Thor embodies strength and nobility, it's Loki's multifaceted character that truly captivates my imagination
Soooo in other words if someone wants to fight smartly against him, Instead of attacking Thor he focuses on destroying the belt making Mjolnir useless since Thor can no longer lift it ....huh.
It's always bugged me how often Thor is depicted as blond when he should be red-haired. ⚒ It's almost as irritating as how Hollywood and its foreign counterparts continue to depict the Greek heroes in Classical armor when they should be clad in the magnificent Bronze Age armor of the Mycenaeans and Minoans.⚒
Agree mate. When I research and read these stories, I can just picture them in my head. I think it needs to be a Ridley Scott production: a little bit dark, and a little bit rustic.
@@MystOfMythology now that you mention Ridley Scott, you might be right. He did get dangerously close to it. If you look at some of the swords in Exodus, you will find they are Mycenaean designs.
Interesting you say that, not all Jotunn were frost giants (all in my giants video) and most believe that his mother was Jörð who was ásynja and a Jotunn. Jörð is the personification of earth, so she is both.
