I just want to say thank you for everything you do. You never had to any of this but you did and I am forever grateful!! Thank you for basically teaching me how to use adobe after effects!!
Hi i love your tuts but just thought I would say that close up shot of Thor as he stands up and his eyes are all lit up is entirely 100% cgi.. I worked on the shot 😁👍🏽 You've got a very accurate look tho in the eyes 😎
Had to make a dodgy matte painting covered with blur to make that work. Thank Video Copilot and Andrews awesome storm cloud Advanced lightning for that effect.
Hey Grant -- LOVE your channel. You stand out from so many other Tutorial Vloggers by teaching stuff we actually want to know, in the context of the coolest stuff to use it for (namely Superhero films). How'd ya get that background of Asgard, with lightning in the clouds and everything (and a small Parallax effect it looks like)? Ripped from the film for educational purposes? I'm going over your Green Screen tutorials now in order to replicate this exact effect -- I gotta step up my skills in order to produce the fun short film ideas I'd like to explore, and Ragnarok is such a fun film to draw knowledge from.
love ur vids mate..u got a new suscriber ..new to AE and u r a great help...got a question for u if u got 5 mn...about this pre comp ur footage so u can track it...my comp is vertical... phone style..so when i rotate 90% to fit the comp...all my tracking is tripping...not sure i understand this precomp thing...and caint find no one explaining it..watch ur vids like 50 times trying to understand but failed ;) could u give me a bit more detailed version?? keep posting mate...loving ur channel.power to u
Love your channel! Great for learning! That After Effects Face Tracker is a bit hit and miss with accuracy tho! I ended up just taking the keyframe approach :')
hey Grant you know how spidermans lenses glow blue in Avengers Infinity war,can you please make a tutorial on it for a movie im making or is it the same as this mostly
Very large amount of work. I was in framestore when they were testing tech on this.. it all starts with a very accurate body track of rdj.. after that it was heavy amounts of Houdini fx trickery.. polygons climbing up the body.. liquid metal like fx that form solid shapes.. a third layer of plates and then some hand keyframed elements too.. pretty intense work.. that whole 5 or 6 shot sequence took about 2 years with multiple artists 👍🏽 Not wanting to leech viewers I did a very rough fx test on my Thanos model in one of my vids a while back 👍🏽
Also, ( the settings ) works if you have a 4k cam. But most people, in general have a 1080p cam. I tried everything u said and its blast out all colors. I don't even see the inner eyesball anymore. Even by reducins settings, or opacity, or anything.
Awesome tutorial! Is there a way to do a similar effect but to an object? I have a scene where a character is holding a gun, and the gun is yellow+black but I want to make only the yellow part of the gun glow.
This was happening to me as well, once I made a comp from the clip it fixed the issue! I think this is what he is talking about at 1:33 - I almost broke my laptop in half over this, I hope it helps your issue too!
Having a problem when pairing the adjustment layer with the right pupil. The tracking is off by a lot. I have pre-comped the footage. The footage is also vertical at 9:16 ratio
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I got the effect to work on one clip, and now when I'm trying it on a second clip the exposure effect won't come through. When I remove the connection between the position of that adjustment layer and the right pupil in the tracker it appears. I'm following the steps the same as last time, and I'm in a new project.
awesome tut dude, i have a question, i don't have a green screen, is there any software to make rotoscoping? i heard about some software called silhouette or something like that, thanks again for the amazing tutorial
Why did you not make lightning like in the strike pack.......can u at least tell which plugin do you use for making the strike pack...is it trapcode particular or something else??? I really dig that strike pack!!!
