Yes, it was clear he needed to *level up* more so to speak. Though odin is often shown sparring mortal creatures even if their absolutely evil. I remember he had annulus at his mercy but opted to just throw him back in the negative zone for instead.
Don't think so. Odin vs. Gorr...Odin is still under the same threat, because of the All-Black, which is a super OP weapon on all of Marvel. Not even Gunguir comes close to killing Celestials.
@@davidshirley4696 i thought he was "scared" of his lighting which can break his conection with the symbiontes, not of thor himself. that would make no sense.
Thor vs Knull will be interesting as Thor has some experience with the Necro blade and has a weakness of Knulls(lightning) Gorr really displayed how powerful Knull is in a way.
@@thorodinson8900 He might still have the power cosmic depending on the timeframe but I think he's going to appear at the end of issue 2 since all of the avengers are being controlled by Knull
man, your boy Sentry got ripped in half, Knull is OP af, looks like Venom beating Superman in that crossover, wasn't PIS at all, symbiotes are also OP.
@@superkryptonian4506 I read the story, Yeah I already knew something bad was going to happen to sentry nothing new and of course Knull did sentry was screwed regardless because he had the void in him as well(plus he wasn't merged) and that crossover isn't even canon so it wouldn't matter regardless Lols not only that but that story was wayyy before this storyline and before Eddie got amped so you're wrong there.
One thing comic fans have to understand is that writers have to write stories under the constraint of what the publisher wants to do with the characters. People give a lot of flak towards Aaron about Jane foster Thor but if you look at Aaron’s other works with more independent publisher’s you’ll see that he still is a talented writer
Great music! Love the far shots of the art work and the coloring! The facial close ups I found a little cartoonish but not the worst. Thanks Fernando another great video!!
Thor used his ability as the God of Thunder to surprise Gorr and survive, but Perun was Thor's counterpart for the Slavs, and he got slain easily enough apparently. That being said, other than just regular plot armor, I suppose the experience of his youth with Dagr helped as well
Does anyone remember the old Hercules tv show with Kevin Sorbo, where he fought Thor, and Loki collected the blood of this entity that could kill a God, i wonder if that entity is where they got the idea of Gorr.
Though I’m of the opinion that Gorr should have never returned past this story, he is still one of my favorite marvel villains! The always has something morbidly interesting to say, and they way he uses the necrosword here is *so* much cooler than how any of its other wielders have even the revived future gorr pfft! It was like fighting a living Rorschach test, each blade rese, bled a symbol, any tendril could have become the shape of some bird or insectoid creature from a forgotten world!
I love the thor of aroon, I love the song, goor is a very successful character, I hope they do it well in the film, especially that they manage to make it serious despite the presence of the Guardians of the galaxy
Watching this again reminds me how wasted Gorr was in the movie. Other dialogue that could’ve worked in this story is Gorr scolding Thor for leading mortals to raid and kill for his fun.
I want gorr to be lay back in the movie, like I don’t want him to be a psycho killer obsessed with killing gods I want him to be calculating and chilling.
@@filippocuneo6118 Aaron wrote the Jane Foster Thor, and his writing became both ideologically possessed and incredibly lazy and lacking in any kind of character and nuance. If you pay attention to how he writes Odin here, for example, the way he speaks with wisdom and of knowing what the difference between fighting and murdering is, you'd be _quite_ baffled as to why he's suddenly a belligerent, posturing blowhard in the Jane Foster Thor, given that it's the same person writing both issues. I haven't read "God of Thunder," admittedly, so I was taken aback by how well this was crafted. Even this small, edited fight carried a lot of good writing and character study, about who Thor and Gorr are, and why they act the way that they do. Conversely, Jane's run as Thor - which I _have_ read - is full of nothing but "Girls are awesome, have no flaws, gods all suck, and guys have toxic masculinity, lawl." There's very little character building or philosophizing, or anything resembling nuance. So I have to say I'm phenomenally disappointed to see that he basically lost his marbles in the span of a single run.
@@Adorni Yes, in fact, changing the characters around Jane is a bit of a flaw but then the story didn't turn out badly. Making the gods unworthy was an interesting novelty, Jane is a poignant character
@@filippocuneo6118 We’ll see how they do it in Love and Thunder. Cant imagine it’ll be too good, especially if the movie ends up like that woman team up scene in Endgame. Shit was cringe. Like Marvel didnt fucking destroy an entire warship in 10 seconds.
So pretty soon we will be getting Gorr and "Cancer"......Are the plans to still keep up with the Dumbass comedy?? Don't get me wrong. I loved Ragnarok but because I saw Surtur, Thor vs Hulk, very well done "Big Action Scenes "Learned more about the Gods and Hela was Badass.......Had NOTHING to do with the comedy. Would REALLY prefer my Thor more" Infinity War" and A Lot less "Endgame"🙄
I got chills waiting for him to say “Thunder”. Thor 3 was great , but his coming into lightening didn’t have the same effect of the thunder as they just turned it into a light show. Would love for them to do actual thunder for him.
If these two somehow manage to beat Wonder Woman, then it's gameover for Justice League, other members wouldn't last even a second without her, Wonder Woman basically is the only reason why JL even win battles.
