Love how atmospheric thornhill can be and how you just lose yourself in their music

This whole album is my def of modern metal in its near highest state. The new one is great too, but this album, ooooooooooh man sooooo good.

That outro starting at around 3:00 with the ambient synth keys fading out gets me every time ❤️

Their sound is so unique and captivating, each song draws you in and leaves you wanting more and I mean that in the best way possible. Based on what I heard so far we have an AOTY contender on our hands!

I honestly can't put into words what this band does to me. I can't recall any other band making me feel what I feel when I listen to Thornhill.

Thornhill always manages to implement odd angles to draw you in and keep you interested. Truly unique.

Maybe not even loving yourself for what you look like, but at least loving yourself for trying to do something about it is pretty much what it means to me. Body image is a very hard one in our society in how we perceive ourselves is pretty toxic and I definitely suffer from it pretty bad, and trying to find enlightenment in your own self worth has been a bloody journey and a half.” Kel: “Yeah it would be. Especially in the position you’re in, you know, frontman, all eyes on you..” Jacob: “Yeah, it doesn’t help. Seeing all the videos, I’m like ‘Fucking hell, I look so ugly. What is going on there!”” Kel: “But you know no one else is thinking that. No one else is scrutinising ourselves as hard as we’re scrutinising ourselves, but that doesn’t necessarily change it.” Jacob: “That’s it. I read somewhere that you look 10% better than you think you do or something. Which is tight!” Kel: “Yeah [laughs]. Like, when I think about someone, I think about their smile and their disposition and how it feels to be around them. I don’t necessarily think about their body shape or how great their skin is or anything.” Jacob: “Yeah, and the thing is that the only people who really see that is you anyway. [laughs] It’s such an irrational thing.” Kel: “It really is. It doesn’t mean it’s not affecting you strongly.” Jacob: “Yeah, that’s exactly the point. It’s like, it’s not a big deal but it’s always going to be a big deal to you no matter what. You can have a million people say you’re good looking and one person say you’re fat and you’re fat. That’s just the way you see it. And it’s the same I guess with negative comments.” Kel: “The 5 out of 10. [laughs]” Jacob: “Yeah yeah, you see a 5 out of 10 and you’re a 5 out of 10 band. Oh man. I’m glad it’s become a meme though, because everyone seems to be happy about it again. I’m glad MVD was on it. None of us actually saw it and he was already reposting it and then we saw it. HOW IS EVERY SONG SUCH A FUCKING BANGER

I still hear it ring in my ears

I genuinely love this band with all my heart... another song that I can relate to so personally. I too have always struggled with my appearance, having an eating disorder and bulimia throughout my teenage years all to try and make myself happy with how I look. I'm 22 now, I've stabilised my diet and overcome my bulimia, but I still hate the way I look. Hate my belly, nose, eyelids, hair... All movies and media I go onto I just wish I could look like them and not be me. Joy from their last EP is all my all-time favourite song with yet again another personal connection with how I feel towards my family/ peers and feeling alone, but being happy. This song is shaping up to be the contender for Joy and playing the song on repeat for the year. Thank you so much Thornhill ❤️

I've said it before an i'll say it again, which i think is a HUGE complement, getting Karnivool'esque vibes from these new tracks. Just enough haunting beauty in both the guitars an the vocals, mixed with super solid grooves. Amped for the whole album

and it all started from me wanting new songs to jam to, which is similar to hollow threat's "don't fall asleep". a few swipes on spotify, saw thornhill's profile. listened to sunflower, and was like eh this is different but still good and never looked back. 2 more days! the last time a band from 'straya got me this stoked with an upcoming album release was make them suffer. just something about their music man, so hard to explain properly. you can literally hear the band's collective soul in each of their songs and i really vibe with that \m/

I was recomended thornhill a little while ago and i initially thought they were pretty ok, i had listened to an ep song- reptile, anyway after that this song came up in my playlist andi was like wow, this is more my style, later i heard the other songs and loved the album, i couldnt hear al the lyrics too well though so i gogled them, they were very philosophical, i watched the get to know thornhill video and knew this album was the best ive heard in the last decade for metal music. I love this album!
