Man this channel is great its so cool that youre going over the history that always gets overlooked as an armenian your channel has me learning new things
I always believed to be pure Arab until I did a DNA test revealing my Armenian blood from Cilicia. God have mercy on my ancestors souls. Can't imagine what happened to them
I don't want to be annoying or to self promote but you moved all the crusader states "one promontory too high" let's say, if you don't mind you can use the borders on mine or any video on the crusader states, but yea, please fix that, it looks disturbing. Also, Sis was not yet the capital, it only gained importance during the reign of Leon II, the capital was Anazarbus.
Many sons of Thor tried to bore their way into promised land. The Bled Pirate Roberts had many "me too" false flags, and still do, so well hidden is the bloodline of the true Christ
Man, what a crazy life. The recurring trend of familial betrayal in the greater Armenian leaders like Thoros and Tigran is wild. I'm curious if that need for independence/carving your own kingdom stems from the mythology of Hayk Nahapet vs Bel of Babylon.
For more on Eddessa and its significance to the early history of Christianity, check out Ralph Ellis's book "King of Eddessa", et. al. He is also featured on many YT shows/channels. It's a fascinating new take on the "events of the Bible". It's the most intriguing take on NT scholarship in decades.
Good video, i wanted to ask if you could do a video about Alexander I "Great" pls, it will be very important knowing his history because he is in very importnant place of knowladge Rn. Knowing him will lead us to understand why did nation collapsed eventually.
@@StoicHistorian AAH i got you my friend sorry for my mistake i said Alexander I "Great" Of Georgia i already watched your video of Alexader III of macedonia and even watched full documentary of Kings and generals.😅 Sorry for mistaking you with this.
4:11 Notice he is NOT "aiming for the eye", but behind the shoulder blade so as to pierce the heart and lungs, just like modern hunters do with a bow/firearm. Do you even watch your own vids?
So sad that no movie about Armenia and its history, even movies about genocide mostly created or sponsored by Armenians, know why? Cause of Turks, they are USA ally, and Hollywood don't want to tell story about Armenians in "Turkish lands"...
"....as seen on "Game of Thrones"." Wow that's some intense "research" you're doing there, Buddy. LOL! However, you'll again note it was a literal "Boar Spear" they were hunting with. No "arrows to the eye". Go ahead, try to shoot ANY living/fighting animal in the eye with arrow. Show us that :)
why did the cilicians resist the byzantines? Wouldnt they have been safer under the protection if a fellow cheistian emperor? the stupid christian infighting duiring the crusades was sad
@@musichd8422 true that was bad but the chance of survival would have been much greater had the byzantines controlled the land. Muslim states aould be more hesitant to attack it since it wouldnt be a small rump state any longer.
The Byzantine Greeks wanted us Armenians to be Greek Orthodox Christians, we refused. Why? First Armenia was the First Nation in the world to become Christian, in 301 AD, before the Greeks or Rome ( 313 AD). Second, Greeks wanted to control us as slaves and not equal partners. Third reason Byzantium was jealous of Armenian successes in wars, culture, construction and ability to build huge buildings and churches. We asked for help from the Emperor around 1001 AD against the savage Seljuk Turk barbarians. Help was refused unless we accepted Greek Orthodoxy. The end was murder for both of us, Armenians and Greeks later on in 1453 AD. Long live Armenia and Armenians. Thank you God Almighty for granting us survival for 5000 years.
@@georgehagop6718 I read about how the Byzantines persecuted the armenians and stupidly disbanded the army in armenia and deported many armenian lords to cappadocia, leaving the Armenia open for turkish attacks. Its mostly the Greeks fault that they lost their land and destroyed the safety and freedom of Christians in the middle east forever.... Its as if the greeks were suicidal or possesed by demons... madness...
