@@OldDocSilver So you bought it brand new? Funny,My Uncle had a brand new one,my Dad did and these were reliable great handling cars! Did you know old cars had a 5 digit odometer, after 99,999 they rolled to 00,000...They NEVER shown over 99,999...So your 50,000 mile Cordoba was 250,000 miles as by the late 1980's that was the average mileage on those cars!
My first car was a 1975 dark blue Cordoba with a white halo roof, turbine rims, dual sport mirrors and HP 400 4 barrel. I inhereted it from my grandfather in 1984 with 32,000 miles on the clock. That was one amazing car for a 17 year old boy in high school. It was a Camaro killer in its day.
These are really good handling and driving cars! If you have lean burn swap it out for Mopar orange box ecu, vacuum advanced distributor and a bigger carburetor, not a smog version..Then they will smoke the tires and be actually quick..Even the 318 will run 15's in the 1/4..The 400 can run high 13's...Our 75 400 4bbl with 3.21 axle did! But a cam swap/head job these will be as quick as you want! A guy in our club has a 79 Cordoba 360 4bbl that runs mid 12's and is a hwy cruiser too!
When you didn't mention the Corinthian leather during the description of the interior, I was very disappointed, but I'm glad it made an appearance before the end of the video, lol
These were nice looking cars when they came out, really good looking, but towards the late 70s update , made it a bit clunky looking, not as trim and clean as the early models
Chry was always late to the show after the muscle car era they put the 400 as standard hoping to cut in to the fire bird as being the only 400 c.I. motors avaliable in a pass car. but by than it backfired.
Cordoba was not considered a muscle car,it was a personal luxury car,and it would beat the 75-79 Firebird! Chrysler was the one who invented power...The 1951 Hemi blew everyone away...by 1955 they had 300 hp,GM/Ford were in the 180 range to low 200..1956 Chrysler had 360hp..57-60 375-415 in a fullsize car.. How did the Cordoba backfire? They sold like crazy,Chrysler didnt have the factories to produce more..
