H has single handedly ruined the reputation and legacy of his mother. As with everything else, people are looking more indepth at her behaviour (instead of taking the long standing puff pieces as truth). Unlike with M, there were excellent parts to D's legacy, but undoubtedly there was mental illness, including paranoia, bulimia when pregnant with H (potentially adding to his mental issues), feeding the media and numerous affairs - including with married men - before Charles strayed. None of this would have been talked about now if it wasn't for H's obsession with D.
