I hope AOE 1 multiplayer can make a comeback being put on the AOE 2 engine. This was my all time favorite RTS and was a big hit on the MSN gaming zone back in the 90's.
I don't like it. Centurions vs gunpowder is too fantastical for me. I know there's goths and huns but those were mistakes. Don't need to do more mistakes cuz they put bad time period civs in 1999. The aok original game box literally said "rome has fallen and the world is up for grabs" Plus the 3 months of bugs and OP ballista boys all over the ladder gona piss me off too
To me the big question is what the niche of the civ will be from a gameplay perspective, honestly. If they can carve out a unique identity that will go a long way. Once the DLC drops in a couple days, I will probably do a video on how I would consider balancing the civ for the ranked ladder (since the whole reason they're delaying it, presumably, is to see how it shakes out).
