Outrageous!! Especially when they've raised a paltry $1.2 million. Which equates to 0.048% of Oprah's own net worth! To put it in perspective that would be like having $1000 and donating $0.48 cents! Perhaps they could have made the video as a call out to their friends of which the top 15 celebrities have a combined net worth of almost $50 billion!

Oprah needs to REFUND the money including hers and dissolve the Charity. She lead by example with donating $5 mil. but people are so ungrateful saying she should donate more. She made a plea for EVERYONE to donate. Some how certain people say she is only asking from the less fortunate, who more than likely have NOT donated but instead use it as an excuse NOT to.

This fund was started by them for a reason, they can get tax write off’s for their donations, but the common man who wants to help and donates to the “people’s fund of Maui” doesn’t, that money will someday return to their pockets.

If every billionaire donated just 1M dollars to help that would make a huge difference, and 1M to a billionaire ain’t shit. Instead of asking the people who are out here breaking the backs just to scrape up enough money to barely survive, why not ask the richest people on Earth to help, we are in a recession right now, do you understand what that means? I think this Situation is being misunderstood. They aren’t begging for money but they are starting a relief fund for the people. And people bring up their networths but they need to realize that that net worth extends to assets and stuff they have.

Let’s not forget that Oprah took her film crew with her to the shelter, so that she could be filmed handing out supplies, and the shelter manager would not let the film crew in. There was a long drawn out argument between the shelter manager, and Oprah, refusing to let the camera crew in before Oprah finally gave in and went in without them. That shows me it was meant to be just a photo opportunity for her.
