Thank you for the video. My mom wants to sell their membership, because she can’t use it since my father passed. I’m thinking of maybe taking over. How would I do that? I do have an older RV. We’re also looking at retiring this year.

We received a Zone Pass Thousand Trails membership with the recent purchase of our rv. It hasn't been a positive experience for us. The reservation process is very difficult. Additionally, the first come, first serve sites are a problem for bigger rv's. We eventually nabbed a site in Russian River for our rv shakedown. We drove 4 hours to find that we could not fit into any of the 4 available sites and returned home. I watched other videos where RU-vidrs would say they "always" were able to get a site. Yet, I would get up at midnight, when reservations would roll over, and repeatedly get the message that the next availability was beyond our 60-day window. Other RU-vid videos say the Trails Collection is a level 60-day window for all memberships. So, we bought one of those. Thousand Trails now sells the Adventure package that provides a 180 day booking window. So, I repeatedly received notifications that the next available booking is 180 days out. We cancelled the Trails Collection and are merely going to use the membership as a filler on trips until it ends.

A Camping Pass holder must employ a strategy to get the most from their camping pass. Same goes for the Trails Collection as opposed to the Trails Collection Plus, especially in high density California. Since you traveled to Russian River and purportedly could not find a campsite to accommodate your rig, what type and length of camping configuration did you take to Russian River? Did you have a camping reservation for that size rig?
