STORYLINE:
Thousands of supporters of Bolivia's President Luis Arce marched on the presidential palace in La Paz on Friday, more than than two weeks after an attempted military coup.
Miners and members of the country's main trade union federation took part in the demonstration in the centre of the country's administrative capital.
President Arce addressed the crowd at the palace gates, telling supporters Bolivians "want democracy to be respected".
The coup attempt led by the dismissed and imprisoned former Army chief Juan José Zúñiga has deepened internal struggles within Arce's Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) party, between those who support the president and those who back his mentor, former President Evo Morales.
They are both seeking control of the party, which has dominated Bolivian politics for 17 years, and the official candidacy for next year's elections.
