also the point about AI, the scare about artificial dead labour replacing living labour has always been around, but it will never happen as long as capital is around. simply because capital NEEDS a reserve army of labour, 'bayam romba theva.' the gig economy is a very in-the-face example of what happens when automation is increased, instead of workers being freed of work (as it was prophesied by 90s tech bro types) they were just subjected to more and more menial, schizoid type of work environments. for instance, a 25 yo fellow driving uber, delivering swiggy/zomato, and doing data entry in the time remaining is something i have actually seen happen, i know him irl. AI will just perhaps replace workers in mainstream production, but workers will just be relegated to more and more degrading work. a friend and I were joking about this, we made up a job -- lighting cigarettes; using an app one can call a person nearby to come light their smokes for them for 5-10 rupees. this is a pretty huge and complicated topic, but nothing too esoteric or beyond understanding.
