It would be great if you could show how to create the Gcode for thread milling. Thanks!

That hole has to have a bunch of chips in it.

Change the peck cycle so it doesn't fully retract it will save time and tooling wear!

Wonderig why ur end mill retract soo much after it been detected by height sensor , u dont need that retraction , with 0.5 mm can do the job ok , u need only na offset to measure again with low feed that is only what is doing .

If he didn't retract fully, the endmill will crash when moving back to the part.

That seems extremely inefficient. A thread tap would’ve been done with both of those holes by the time that Threadmill got done with half that first hole.

You are correct, but, in the same time, you are not thinking. A thread tap requires synchronization between spindle speed and Z feed. Not all CNC machines have that feature. AND, you need a thread tap for each thread diameter and pitch. On the contrary, a Threadmill does not require any synchronization,, and can be used for a range of diameter and pitches. It is slower, but it is a very budget-efficient solution.

@@LeBearCNC Plus the fact that you get all of the way to the bottom, and you never have a broken tap in the hole.

The tap would break at that depth@@gangleweed

You can buy threadmills with drill tips to drill and thread simultaneously, then run a chamfer on the edge with the same tool. With something like a combination drill/tap, you need to swap out for different diameters. You must factor in even more tool changes if you're using dedicated drills and taps.
