This was so helpful! I had to hem pants in a hurry and had never used this sewing machine before, thanks for making helping me get finished in time. :)
Great job on your video. The shots of the machine are excellent. If I could make a suggestion, keeping the bobbin case lever extended with the bobbin inside will lock it in place. This way, you don't need to tilt your machine.
Thank you Cody. I only tilt the machine because my school students need to see where it all goes. I guess I just filmed it the way I teach it to my Year 7s, primarily.
I am a 61 year old man, single, never used a sewing machine and inherited my mother's Bernina 1000 Special sewing machine. Frustration in reading the manual forced me to look online for better explanation of threading the machine from the top and the bottom. I found it, thank you, thank you, thank you. You have saved my day.
your an inspiration to us all! this was a touching beautiful video. would hope to see more from this channel! your making a great impact on this world, love you work xo
Thanks... This has been a big help for my coursework (believe it or not, on my Film Degree - Don't ask).. Now need to find something similar for an overlocker..
Thank you so much! A machine was donated for our missions trip - and I had no idea how to thread it. It's an 811, but this really helped. (to those snarky remarks - if you don't need to learn how to thread a sewing machine, you shouldn't be watching a video on it.)
@@nataliegarcia9492 , ok, yes it did. I wouldn’t have accepted it without. Hang in there! Everyone has to start somewhere. Are you going to make quilts? I highly recommend Missouri Star Quilt co. They have a ton of videos and most are pretty simple quilts.
Thank you for this video. Does anyone know where I can buy a genuine Bernina 1008 bobbin case? My Bernina 1008 came with only one bobbin case, and I'd like to have an extra bobbin case just in case the original bobbin case goes bad.
good video except you forgot to mention before you thread the upper part of machine to have the presser foot up. this is very important since if it is not up the tension discs are closed. They need to be open in oder for easy and proper threading, so when presser foot is up it releases that pressure on the tension disks.
