Another Ipswich Transport Museum running day, and three "Ipswich" vehicles on a convoy to the Chantry Estate.
Firstly ex-Belfast Citybus 2526 a Bristol RELL with Alexander bodywork, "154" is not what it seems, as it never ran for Ipswich, but rather had been painted into the Ipswich scheme to resemble the similarly looking Irish B21s that Ipswich bought in the 1990s.
Following is the Museum's own "bouncy" AEC Swift 82. 82 has a rare Willowbrook bodywork not usually favoured by Ipswich, but gives a feel of that standard 1970s saloon vehicle where capacity and efficiency was key rather than the more public service feel of the 60s and before.
And finally, representing the early days of Chantry operation, Doug Flory's AEC Regal BPV8 is one of a number bought in 1951 specifically for the first Chantry service (12 to Birkfield Drive turning circle). With its Park Royal bodywork, its a provincial version of the popular London RF type.
