Why do you have so many mods for sportsters? You seem to hate harley-davidson and take every opportunity to rag on us Harley guys. Where's the other guy?
I'm definitely a more trains and motorcycles guy! I just grabbed myself a 2019 Sportster Iron 1200 so I appreciate you sharing your journey here! Hope to get some ideas from you as I'm coming up with my wishlist!
Oil around the intake and throttle body is probably from the PCV system. I would find a way to vent that to atmosphere when changing out the air cleaner tbh.
the absolute best upgrade for my sportster was converting it to a suzuki sv1000. it was a really easy job, dont need any tools at all and very little mechanical experience. the difference is amazing!
I got the feeling that your heart just wasn't in it in this video , I understand that Harleys aren't your thing. It's probably just me , but I think it would have been good to see Whitney in front of the camera assisting (if she is willing to do that sort of thing) in some of the work on the Soprster.
One more thing to add to your comment about the 9k lbs hummer. People love to bring up how much raw and precious resources make electric vehicles very dirty to produce. A motorcycle is more sustainable.
There is so many options to choose from its all about what style the bike is. Smoked out light are a trend but I would prefer bright lights over the smoked out. You could also relocate or eliminate the turn signals and new mirrors.
You could add a cam to it and if you're feeling really froggy at a hammer performance 1275 kit, with a tune, you should be able to make closer to 100 horsepower which is more appropriate for this bike
Got to get LED lights on there, I highly recommend the kuryakyn tracer blinkers, and hogworkz ringmaker headlight, and an LED taillight as well. I've got those on my sporty and they look so freaking good, and I feel much more visible out on the road especially at night
Of course more trains is good, works fine here as well. Less cars, less accidents, less traffic jams better for the environment. So more safe for motorcycles.
There is so many cam options for these bikes, and it really depends depends what else is done, or what the plan is for the bike. I'm currently running the Feuling 505/515 cams in my Sportster (videos on my youtube), and I absolutely love them! With the setup I currently have they are perfect.
I see these all the time on Harleys and I always wonder if they have issues. My grandpa has had 12 Harleys at one point, rides over a thousand miles to Sturgis every year, and used to run a repair shop. Out of all the mods I've seen him do on his Harleys, I've never seen him do a pod filter like these. So I'm guessing there are some downsides, at least if you want to ride as much as possible.
More trains? It depends on the city. Here in Sydney we have a huge train, light rail, tram & bus public transport system that works well. If you live near a train station that is. Penrith (west) & Campbelltown (south west) are both roughly 57km from Sydney CBD, but are 55km away from each other, so you can imagine the huge triangle of residential suburbs sitting between the train lines. Where I grew up it was a 30 minute bus ride to the nearest station, and that was only 4 stations from where the train lines converged. In those areas having a personal vehicle is the only way to get around. Accessible public transport has undoubtedly helped, but we still have the problem of around 50% of people driving alone to their office jobs in big SUV's. Switching them over to small hatchbacks, or better yet, motorcycles & scooters, would significantly ease congestion. Good luck convincing people to let go of their SUV's though.
Absolutely. More trains, more public transportation, bike lanes, better land use so cities are walkable. I love cars but you should’ve be forced to have one just to survive.
Yeah that's a fucking horrible idea. More wasted tax dollars on shithole cities. Raising the cost of living inside shithole cities. It's the utopian dream that life should be easy for everyone...it doesn't work and the only time it does is at the expense of others.
Where I live, trains and public transit would not be viable, and honestly I would NEVER buy an electric vehicle until they can be charged up in similar time and have a range comparable to my old gas powered Mercedes. But by the time they get to those points, I'll probably be to old to drive. I'm 64 now!
1st of all; He says it's "Standard hotrodding." while HD says it's "Beginners experience towards hotrodding (stage 1)" Lol Also, why there isn't a push for trains from city to city, & allow cars/motorcycles transport on them. It is possible & done, just US doesn't want to push for it.
I WANT MOAR TRAINS! I live with in walking distance of one of the Austin light rail stops. I'd love to take it to work, but a few problems. 1. Final stop is in downtown. I work close to the airport. 2. doesn't run 24/7. The 1st train doesn't even start till well after I need to be at work. 3. Everyone and their dog is trying to kneecap it at every turn. "Well it doesn't work and no one rides it." Yeh cause you've made it impossible for it to be useful. Also you know if we shut it down we don't get that money back right? I just don't wanna have to ride home from the airport to North Austin in rush hr traffic. That is apparently too much to ask. Edit: Also motorcycles should be able to use to toll roads for free.
The more content i see about HD bikes on this channel, the more i realize that i never want anything even remotely related to Harley 😂 Everything is just "a harley thing" or "character" when in reality its just production techniques from 40 yrs ago and heavy iron instead of modern stainless steel or aluminium etc
Yah... Take out the Pan America and Sportster S. Then get back to me. Kind of like saying Ducati is only ferringed sport bikes or Triumph is only street bikes built to look like a BSA. That is their primary branding only. A word of advice... "Better to keep your mouth closed and have people think you are stupid, rather than open your mouth and prove it".
I miss the off-road content they did. I thought it was great but understand that at the end of the day they can’t spend the budget on videos that don’t bring in views and ad revenue. A shame but as a wise man once said “it is what it is”
I ran the 2-1 upsweep exhaust on my 1250cc Sportster when they were first released and I absolutely loved it! Unfortunately it got damaged in an accident when I got ran over and they were backordered at the time. I have a couple videos of the current setup and with the other exhaust/motor setups, the 1200cc with Feuling cams, fp3, 2-1 upsweep and s&s breather was a hoot to ride. Since then, I have continued modding the bike, and it continues to be a blast to ride!
I'm pro-trains, trails, and public transportation if we can find a way to make it more accessible or start accounting for it in newer planning projects. The problem is the distance between everything, since auto manufacturers and oil companies had a hand in a lot of our city layouts. Some people shouldn't be on the roads. This would give them time when traveling to not pay attention in a safer way. Then, people who generally enjoy driving would be safer too.
@@rainbowbunchie8237 there are a few Am Track lines that run on primarily cargo rails. Maybe we need more of that. However, a lot of rails have been out of use for over half a century, since road trucking took off and passenger lines were replaced by cars. There's a bike trail I live near that was built over a railroad that went between multiple small cities.
Anytime someone brings up trains I have to remind them of two things. 1. The US is massive compared to most countries that have sophisticated commuter rail systems. It would be crazy expensive and our government can’t be trusted to file paperwork for under a billion. 2. See 1. The super cool HSR system that was supposed to revolutionize travel in California still isn’t done and has cost insane amounts of money. I will not be arguing about this
In New York you can't get a motorcycle inspected unless it has a stock exhaust I had ☹️ to buy one on eBay and put it on my bike just to get it inspected since I threw the original out
Honestly most of my thoughts on trains and stuff are the same as Not Just Bikes' channel, I'd recommend you all check him out if you're interested in public transit
That notion seems silly to me considering that motorcycle riders back in the 50’s and 60’s didn’t have fat ass cruisers with trunks and soft suspension. If anything they’re pussies for not eating 500 miles on a bobber and no windshield.
Im almost 6ft 2 and it fits me well with forward controls, and it handles better than the other Harleys. Dont listen to people like that, they say those things just because they think their bigger bikes are more manly.... Sp if you have a smudge of confidence then its really just a matter of taste and wallet. :)
I designed that intake then I was an Vance & Hines 😅 the mounting bolts are super close the the stack but that was the only way to get the largest size velocity stack in.
hey yammie, I've been binge watching your videos for a few months now. got my first motorcycle today, 2022 yamaha mt-07. learned some valuable information from your videos so I appreciate that.
Careful what you learn from this guy he's a squid through and through. there's entirely different communities and riding styles, don't get stuck thinking it's sports bikes or nothing.
Yam, I bet if you did an upgraded master cylinder, some braided steel lines, and some better pads it would stop quite well. I’d argue that master cylinder is the biggest braking let down…
Idk... I've got an 883r with the extra front rotor and it stops rather well. Now... if u add boiling fluid from track days I might consider some upgrades, but I don't ride my harley on the rack lol
