The moral of this story is: DONT FORGET THE BUGSPRAY! On this adventure, we battled through hordes of mosquitos up to the south ridge where Tim was forced to overcome his fear of heights with the 1000s of feet of exposure (we helped him overcome these fears with the aid of some fixed ropes). We climbed the final bits to the summit only to find ourselves in the middle of a very intense fly hatch (and they bit too!) . Overall, super fun mountain, but don't forget the bug spray!

Wow! I’d seen a couple of videos on Three Fingered Jack and that exposure is scary. The nature of the mountain also makes me wonder about the quality of the rock.

Soloed it in '06 along with everything else in line from Hood to Broken Top for my 50th birthday summer long walk. Replaced the tat on that chimbley rap station. Hordes of butterflies whipping over most of the summits. I kayak smooth water now. Just watching this got me gripped. Oi!

Nice! The bugs at the top looked awful! Would you guys of roped up if the guy with a fear of heights wasn’t there?

Not for the Crawl, its only class 4, and no one else actually used the rope there. If it was just me, I would only use the rope for the rap down the chimney. but most people do prefer to set rope on those parts, so its just personal preference.
