I have been doing mixed media journalling for a couple of years, and yesterday I accidentally opened one of your videos about bible journalling. I feel like God had a plan, it introduced me to you and the other wonderful women on RU-vid doing Bible journaling. Thank you so much I feel like it's a great gift from God. I ordered my Bible yesterday and it will arrive today. I can't wait to get started and live in the word. thank you so much. God bless
I am an absolute beginner and not artistic so I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to make this video..How fun and creative!! Please do more!!
Your writing is the best I have ever seen. I am going to look for your tutorial video on writing this way and will practice, practice, practice. Love all these techniques and will be trying them all.
2023 Update: By some magical God Awesomeness - This post has come back in my mentions 5 years Later, Lol - I think that's a sign😉 So here's my updated take - LIVE YOUR AUTHENTIC HIGH VIBRATIONAL TRUTH -" Don't worry 'bout it sweetheart 😘" Love , scribble and color your Bible in whatever manner meets the Holy Creator in the Garden of Your Spirit - Be Love, Live Love, Give Love - For we are all one and God is not an isolated being in one devotion, religion or space but a FORCE unimaginable and limitless - Untethered by man's opinions or predilections😉☺️🌻🌼 Live Baby!!!♥️♥️♥️ ------------++++-----------------♥️🌟🌻 Covering the word of God feels wrong. I love the art but for larger spreads I'll just use a blank journal or the Interleaved Bibles that leave a blank page.
Keiona Anderson Yup and that’s totally great! It’s a personal decision for everyone :) I even mention with the finger painting how you can do it just in the margins 😊. I’m all about Bible journaling and using your creativity in the way that speaks to YOU ❤️
It isn't for everyone.. but if you think it is wrong, why are you watching it is my question? we aren't to judge each other... we love each other and our differences because we are wonderfully and uniquely made different each one of us by the Hand of God Himself. I have been living for God for 35 yrs and this last 6 months of learning Bible art journaling has opened my mind to deeper studying and thinking on the scriptures and given me an even more intimate relationship with Jesus and that is what He desires from all of us.
Valerie Millikin I totally agree. It is actually Cat Woods who also has a channel on youtube, that got me into bible journaling. Before I began bible journaling, I was just reading scripture, without any intimacy with God. Now I actually take my time, write down the scripture, say what it means to me and how I can apply it to my life and write down words within the scripture that stands out to me. After I have done all of this in my A Woman after Gods heart bible, I then go to that same chapter in my journaling bible and express my feelings of that scripture with art. I like you don't understand if you thinks its wrong, then why are you even on this page. That's whats wrong with the christian body as a whole, we are so critical and judgmental.
I don't like to cover the words neither. I have to be able to read them. So what I do is, avoid touching the words or use a light color that you can see through... Just an idea ;) GB
All of these techniques look like fun and I want to try with my 7 year old granddaughter in her new journaling bible that I introduced her to two weeks ago! 💞
Such beautiful, simple techniques. Thanks for the tutorial. Your handwriting is so beautiful! If I had handwriting like that I would be writing on everything, all the time, not just in my Bible. Jealous! 😆
My goodness this video was so much fun. I’m not very creative or artistic but I like to bible journal and I’m definitely gonna try these techniques. Thank you for sharing!
I love these ideas/techniques with paint. I am not good with paints at all and these are some very creative ways to use them. Thank you for sharing!! I will be trying them out. :-)
Love these suggestions! This is a different version of smush painting than I have seen elsewhere, but I like it. Will definitely try the bubble painting, too. Your lettering is really lovely. Thanks for sharing.
You are so adorable! And these pages are great. This is the first of your videos that I have watched, and I'm so glad I've found you. Very much looking forward to checking out your others.
I have a few Bible in different2 languages. Love & value all of them & can never thought of covering the WORD of GOD with no matter how beautiful a picture is. 🙏
I'm just coming across this video now... and this month's By the Well 4 God's devotional kit for this month is under the sea themed! Perfect for that first bubble technique!!!
Your writing is beautiful!! You should try scribbling on the sandwich bag with different color washable markers then sprits with water and lay that over the page and smoosh it that way. 👌🏻
I love your techniques! I"m a crafter and those techniques are fun in my world too...not just Bible journaling. Your pages are beautiful and your writing is amazing :) Hugs...Janie
I know you are busy with the new baby so you may not answer. But what is your favorite bible to work with? I can’t afford the spiral one but I’ve used the journal the word and the beautiful word bibles. I’m looking to start again so I need a new bible and new supplies
I’m a new subscriber and I’ve really been enjoying your videos. Your yellow journaling bible is the same kind my first one was. 😀 Could you please say again what type of water color paints you have?
As a scrapbooker, Bible Journaling is my latest project that I have come to love sooo much! I still stress a bit over how it looks, haha, but the best part is , TRULY, letting the words soak in that you're working on. I have already purchased a 2nd Journaling Bible and have learned so much from your videos! Thanks for sharing your gift with so many! Blessings
I love all 3 of these techniques. I am just curious as to why you chose not to prep your pages first? Did any of that bleed through? Many Bible jounalists always say to pep the page first.
Nope, I only use supplies that don't bleed-through. So mainly I don't prep my page because it's unnecessary and I'm too impatient to take that extra time. I also don't like the way watercolors act over the prepped page.
Thank you for sharing your techniques. Have you tried smooshing by putting the paint on the plastic, then going to the paper? That is a nice effect, too.
New subscriber! I can not draw for the life of me! Your ideas here are making me think twice about bible journaling! I would not however touch the word of God! To me it seems so wrong! Thank you for sharing!
I know you posted this a few years back, but I recently came across your video and was wondering what kind of black marker/pen did you use to write with?
Martha Roark it is just another way to worship and study the Word. I can usually still read the text, but I made the personal decision not to worry if I cover the scripture in my particular Journaling Bibles because I have other Bibles I read and study from. Lots of people do only create art in the margins to ensure they can still read it and that is perfectly fine! It’s all about our personal walk with Christ and how we choose to illustrate it.
