@@rhettmitchell it makes me sadder bc Sylvain in the character models looks really cute imo?? I am probably biased a little since I have him in Dark Knight armor for every map, but he looks cute in support cutscenes after the timeskip. the 2D art doesn't show everything. same for Felix.
@@naurrr Sylvain’s is easily one of my favorite timeskip outfits. It’s the perfect mix of streamlined, simple, and detailed. Plus it looks like an actual outfit someone would wear in a war, and not tactical thigh highs and armored corsets
@Merciless Freak Nah nah, she is one of the DEFINITIONS of a glow-up. Like, you can see the history in her glow-up. Her fit is okay, kind of reserved, depressed and looking like she kind of doesn't care for herself. To full on putting her whole Crest (the thing she was most ashamed of herself) as a front piece of her outfit, looking up, being tidy and with a slight smile. It's not the glow-up you think of normally (like Annette's or Lorenz), but it's just playing by different rules, because SHE glows up, not her fit, she tells a story by how she glows up and that's insane. Her fit is pretty good and a clear upgrade, but it's not killer (except for that Crest of Maurice piece), her hair is pretty nice but it's more of a sidegrade. But she just...oozes a glow-up aura when you compare both versions.
Calling academy Lorenz' hairstyle "a purple Pac-Man eating his scalp" completely took every integrity of this character design from my further playthroughs. 😂
Clearly in the minority but I actually prefer Dorothea's post-timeskip look. It's a more understated, mature and serious look which reflects where she's at in her life, and it's more operatic too which fits in with her backstory. The hat was great pre-timeskip but I think she needed to lose the hat.
If she were to keep a hat, I'd think a black floppy hat with a flower on it or something would fit better. She needed to have that mature look to her to represent her character post timeskip.

Petra is just perfect ! Before and after the timeskip. Lorenz is the absolute glow-up ! When he is a teenager, he looks like he is trying too hard to be original. When he is an adult, he looks like an extravagant and elegant knight.
Considering Edie and Dimi are basically in a war with Claude caught in the middle, accurate the fans are kinda the same way. Agreed with most of them, but they did Dorothea and Sylvain DIRTY 💀 Dorothea’s post-time skip design is one of the best ones imo and I’m glad they got rid of the hat tbh. It was cute when she had it, but it just doesn’t fit how I think she’d mature. As for Sylvain, he’s already such a handsome character that idk why they expect a huge change for him lol I think it capitalized on the characteristics he already had in a more realistic way.
Nahh I gotta disagree. Raphael still shows his personality through the timeskip, but Sylvain just looks... generic. It's so weird considering how well written he is with his ideologies and intelligence, but instead his design says that he let himself go.
Oh please! Ashe deserved a higher ranking. (Alright, maybe I AM an Ashe fan, and maybe he IS my “type”) But please, the glow up was so real. I only S-supported him BECAUSE of the glow up. /lh
Yo hey this tier list is going well- *Bernie B tier* ARE YOU KIDDING ME CHAT, PINECONES INSTEAD OF A BRAIN? She's probably one of the only characters that gets a real glow up and not just a redraw. Her face becomes more woman like and you can notice that she actually takes care of herself now by just looking at her hairs. Def S tier if we look at the "Glow Up".
I agree mostly with this list but Dimitri and Sylvain should both be higher. Dimitri honestly has the best design no question IMO. Also Bernadetta should be lower, it’s a straight up downgrade in every aspect.

I'm surprised how many people in chat liked Edelgard's time skip. Her hair absolutely ruins it for me, with her 'princess Leah but with horns' look she's got going on, plus her pre time skip design already being good so I was expecting to maybe see B, or a low A if you gave her alternate hair a chance. --But personally I'd put a tier in those scenarios--
I mean even as a big Dorothea fan I can see where they’re coming from, most people can agree that her pre timeskip design is much better, I still like her timeskip design but it’s fine, I’d say she goes in low b for me

S+-Tier (exceptional Designs): Lorenz, Petra S-Tier (close to exceptional): Leonie A+-Tier (big glow-up): Annette, Caspar A-Tier (decent glow up): Ignatz, Marianne, Hapi, Lysithea B+-Tier (slight glow up): Edelgard, Claude, Ferdinand, Dimitri, Hubert B-Tier (minuscule glow up): Dedue, Cyril, Ashe C+-Tier (sidegrade): Mercedes, Dorothea, Linhardt, Felix, Yuri C-Tier (slight downgrade): Hilda, Constance, Raphael, Bernadetta D-Tier (absolute downgrade): Sylvain, Ingrid, Balthus So I think that would be mine and if you put the + and normal ones together it doesn't end to much different to your version. Biggest differences are Petra and Dedue, maybe the Lords I guess, but everything else is relatively close. Maybe should slightly add something for Dimitri and Hubert: I think both are actually a big glow-up, BUT I think they are still kinda ugly and to kinda reference that they are actually just B+ and not A or A+ for that.
I Think I no joke prf Ferdinand glow up over Lysithea like sure the color is a good fit (tho perso I think it way to bright like a darker purple would have been sick but it kinda of a sick purple and it just make her look even more sick... and I can't like Lysithea for me is a ... Yah I will say it C... like the outfit just look stupid and the color doesn't help... I think her hair is kinda nicer but that about it... she doesn't even look more confident in herself or anything Perso I 100% prf Raphael to hers like... I know it sad alot of ppl like her glow up... But am just not felling it like it a downgrade for me. But yah I think c Tho ok Leonie is S tier that glow up is like bassicly as good a Lorenz glow up (no joke) Like she going form badly put together tomboy to hot tomboy The hair man also The confidence in herself and I like the fit that still super tomboy she doesn't care about that but she just get her hair done perfect.
It is my personal belief that Lorenz only got S tier glow-up because there is almost nothing you could possibly do to make pre-timeskip design (aka the HAIR 🤢) worse than it already was. When that’s your starting point, just about anything is an improvement.
Holy hell, I'd never seen the dlc characters post time skip... they all looked like huge downgrades to me. All dlc timeskips tasted bland and lazy. Way more thought was put into the pre timeskip outfits...
Unpopular opinion but I was disappointed by Marianne's post-timeskip look. I wanted to see her with her hair down or something, it just felt kinda boring.
