Tenkaichi budokai. Means “strongest under the heavens tournament.” Budokai means “gathering of the strongest” and tenkaichi means “tournament” since Japanese grammar is different you put the noun before the verb so the correct terminology is “tenkaichi budokai” but to better associate the game series with the “budokai” series they swapped the words
"Tenkaichi Budokai" means "Strongest under the Heavens World Martial Arts Tournament". For some reason, they flipped the phrase for the Budokai Tenkaichi series. Maybe the localization team just thought it rolled off the tongue better.
I think the logic at the time for Atari's marketing division was to tie it into the existing Dragon Ball Z: Budokai series so it would sell more (as Budokai was definitely selling at the time!), rather than call the series by its Japanese name of _Sparking!_ Basically, the same reason why Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Blast was called Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi overseas (except in the case of Budokai Tenkaichi/Sparking, the game was actually fun on its own even though it wasn't actually Budokai). And yeah, the other half of it was absolutely just being able to simply flip the name of Tenkaichi Budokai to come up with the overseas name of the series.
@@FieraDevilWings right the marketing definitely just wanted you to think it was an "evolution" to the series when in reality it was just a different dev team, but that didn't matter because ATARI owned the distribution rights so they called it whatever they wanted to for marketing. The original Budokai weren't even called that it was simply Dragon Ball Z, DBZ2 etc, nothing special.
Nah, might just be a coincidence. Who would ever be excited about a widely renown, beloved series of games getting jumpstarted after 16 years of absolute silence?
Any of you tried to ring out roshi or videl in final battle because of there scripted rush attack all I did it's jump when match start they will either rush attack and ring out themselves or fly around ring Also all 3 of them not using forward flying square triangle square combo to ring out enemies annoying me little lol
Damn that Dragon Ball Fusions OST in the beginning brings me back memories from your older videos. Good stuff man keep up with the awesome content Rhyme
I thought you guys were gonna join the tournament at the same time but regardless it's still a fun video to watch and I'm only a minute in and I know it's going to be a good video lol.
Future tip for Tournament mode, the higher a fighter's health is, the easier it is to recover in midair from directional attacks. The lower it is, the easier it is to make them fly like you would want them to for ring outs.
Lets all take a second and be grateful that these 3 guys, found each other, became friends. And ALL 3 of them make content on youtube!!! The 3 of you together is ALWAYS the best!. LOVE YOU GUYS!
Chaotzu is actually the goat in this mode. Hes small (hard to hit, harder to knock out) but can still fly. Also he has psychocinesis into hard knockdown ohro (one hit ring out).
Fun fact, the Tenkaichi Budōkai is the world martial arts tournament, translating loosely to strongest under the heavens Budokai Tenkaichi is the video game series we all know and love
Ooh nice. Can you guys make a sim training video? That's my favorite game mode It's the game mode where you can train up characters like Bardock to beat Perfect Cell
Can we talk more about Deion's bracket being fire 🤣 SSJ2 Gohan vs Hirudegarn, Beerus vs Kid Buu, Gotenks vs Gogeta, and rematch Jiren vs 17? Wish we coulda spectated some of those 🤣
Seeing Chiotsu VS Oozaru Vegeta was an epic moment! ....mostly for the Great Ape though. XD Nah I tease but it was cool watching you ring out people as one of the least appreciated DBZ characters ever.
This was hilarious lol and you guys were getting the hang of it slowly If you fly at them with X then press Square they will 90% of the time vanish that, so fly at them with X then mash triangle for ki blasts instead to leave them stunned, then SQUARE at the end should work. Another method is flying at them with X then doing nothing once you are near the CPU, start a new combo or side step on their backs to trick the CPU. I really want you guys to demolish the CPU lol They are though yeah but they have weaknesses you guys need to exploit more
In my head when Rhyme knocked great ape vegeta in the entrance way, they had to rebuild it before the start of his next match just for him to knock giant slug into it again 😂😂😂 not to mention they life’s he took and destroyed according to Doto. 😅😂
