When Dino said "I will tribute 3 of my monsters for the legendary..." an ad came on that said "Mr.Clean!" Lmaooooo only the legendary Mr.Clean can defeat Seereax
His special ability is to clean the opponents field getting rid of all monsters and spell and trap cards on the whole field except for Mr. Clean and Mr. Clean Related cards
I love these compilation videos. Sounds weird, but I usually fall asleep to you guys. And it's always a good start to the day when you hear Doto say the most... out of pocket, sus as fuck, banned in most countries shit first thing when you wake up.
My Main man. You have no idea how amazing these compilations you guys are doing truly are. I watch y'alls videos as they release.but while I work or.im.busy I put them on for.background noise again after the initial watch. And these are gonna be so good. Love your content and the energy you all bring Thanks for the laughs and amazing times! Hope the coming year is better for you all and you guys keep.doing what you guys do!!! Much love wutizgoinevry!!
OG for me. I stpped after XYZ was introduced, then I met someone who's been playing Yu-Gi-Oh I decided to bring my deck to play, I started and he immediately stopped me and I go "what do you mean I can't draw on the first turn?" The rest of the game plays out and I don't even know what's happening, i don't even recognize the game anymore
I didn't even realize the length of this video until like 10 minutes in. I love watching the "Three Idiots" content. Honestly I've been drawn in to the whole friend group lately.
Old Yu-Gi-Oh. Reason 1 - Much more back & forth rather than whos board has more interruption and negates. Reason 2 - I understand Old Yu-Gi-Oh has long duels but here me out on this one, 1-2 turns with the newer format is pretty much a whole duel on older formats. Dont get me wrong i see the appeal with New Yu-Gi-Oh but there so much of a difference with how much interaction there is
Older, because modern yugioh is way too fast and basically boils down to "who can OTK who first" which is incredibly dull and just results in people playing solitaire or giving up because the other guy dropped a hand trap to cuck the OTK only to do an OTK themselves. Basically, Modern Yugioh is a race to OTK and modern players will just give up if their initial combo gets stopped because most modern decks rely on OTKs.
Not exactly modern but I do think Duelist Alliance or Maximum Crisis was peak Yugioh. Why: The power level feels strong but nothing really feel unfair in comparison to each other and each deck feels fairly unique in how it operates. Along with just amazing concept decks like BA, Shadoll, or Qli/ ABC, True Draco, Metalfoes. I do think you guys should visit these formats.
Agreed, any age of yugioh is better than goats. There's nothing fun about everyone running the same 25 cards or using simplistic beat down strats that punish any cool or fun plays. It's lame. And the meta strategy of the time is essentially "don't let your opponent play the game ever" You'll notice that they rarely summon a boss monster in all of these and if they do it's usually because it's a boss that you get to the field for free like the lvl monsters. It's so boring
As someone who's only gotten into it recently. I'd say I prefer modern BUT casual YGO (casual as in either non-meta decks or weird ways to play meta decks). I like the speed of modern YGO but when the game is mostly played by one player no matter who's turn it is it's kinda boring going through all their effects before I can have my normal summon negated.
Old YGO is easily better than modern YGO for one reason: you actually get to play the damn game. Modern YGO is based entirely on negates. If your opponent gets to play the game you just lose, so the entire goal is to go first and then make a board with 6+ negates and just kill your opponent’s entire hand and not let them do literally anything. It is horrible game design and is just not fun to play.
Personally I think modern yugioh while people love to hate the amount of staples is way more accessible. People like to not only speak about how “creative” goat was. Or how exciting Edison is…. These formats were before Konami became as “generous” as they are now. While cards still typically go for a good bit there’s way more accessibility to build decks and you’re now able to test your deck through digital means before committing. Here are some examples of cards that weren’t very accessible in early formats. Keep in mind back in the day we didn’t have access to TCG player, you couldn’t reliably buy singles and the platforms to buy them weren’t fully developed. At one point the best beater was an 1850 atk monster that was ultra rare in a tournament pack.. Now while people dislike the roughly 11-20 staple cards that modern yugioh uses we have to look back at old formats to see that this was always the case. Old decks pre ban list ran the power 11 of yugioh. even if they weren’t control decks they delinquent duo, forceful sentry and so on. Very powerful cards. And qualities beloved in Edison laid the foundations for the bountiful archetypes we have now. Now is genuinely the best time to get into the game since there’s so much accessibility to get into the game, and I think the idea of “zero interaction” to an extent has always been around as either floodgate decks, stall decks, and burn decks have always existed in the game. The only difference now about zero interaction is that it seems worse because combos can extend so long. In reality wether it’s a one turn combo that can end the game and a stall with flood gates where you can’t activate effects, play spells or traps, you’re not playing the game either way…
I love all of Yugioh. But I hate that you really can’t play whatever you want. If they would just power creep all archetypes, it wouldn’t matter. I have to do olympic gold medal level mental gymnastics to play my favorite old school cards, now.
Still digging old school YuGiOh. Hate that my buddy is hooked on Making newer and more annoying shit. Enjoying fighting newer shit but hate that everything anymore is reliant on handtraps and having forty summons a turn. I miss having to setup over time and that setup being important. Ya, having a handtrap and stopping a move is the same. The difference is that that 1 handtrap can make the difference in living and dying in 1 turn compared to being able to having a chance to scratch back. My buddy and i play with 10k life points because it helped extend when we originally ppayed and even when we started back up back around the time Master Duel dropped. Now i feel like we should bump it up to 20k or even higher. See how things change. Just for those who may be curious, back when i first stopped playing, Heroes were a thing. Played a Fiend/Dark World opression deck. When we got vack in to it, he made a Red Eyes deck while i made a Rose Dragon deck. Now both those decks are useless against almost any set that releases now. At least a deck that feels pure or on theme for archtype. I love making pure decks and they struggle against anything even remotely optimized. Genuinely curious what the best deck is that is as pure as can be? Id love to know anyones opinion on that matter. One more complaint and ill stop ranting.... Maybe.... I hate how almost every extra deck has the same monsters. Cards that easily plug in to almost everything are anmoying to see every time you turn around lol wnat no one to misunderstand, love everything they add to YuGiOh, aside drom Pendulum. The game is always evolving and adding. Just wish it would have evolved alittle differently hahaha
The comment from Seereak in episode 12 about stopping playing yugioh in school but playing with ur brothers at home hit me. Legit the exact same scenario in my case. Now I just don't care and play on my own time for fun but wish I didn't stop and played in those years I briefly gave the game up.
Never got to experience the older formats but from what ive seen, it looks pretty fun. I think it would just be nice to have the choice of different formats
DM-5Ds is my favorites from the series, so I'd say the original duels are the best. Duelist Kingdom was wild with the summons, Battle City was the original template, GX built on it and 5Ds added synchro summons. It was fresh and new but it still held the Battle City template. Easy to understand and not confusing with all the new stuff like pendelum and link summons. Plus, I'm old school.
In that first match, Doto screwed himself so many times cause he was scared of the wrong things, it was kinda triggering, he could've easily won that first match, but he was just being scared the whole time.
Personally I prefer pre pendulum yugioh the most, so old school for sure. The game had simple effects that you could utilize to make incredibly complicated combos. Now a days, your card.has 4 paragraphs of effect to read, multiple conditions, different trigger response times, and so many ways to populate your field to bring out all your boss monsters at once, or prevent your opponent from playing anything with zone lock.
@@naransolongoboldbayer8030 kashtira is definitely a part of it, won't even try denying that. I stopped playing pre pendulum and came back to it last year on master duel. I just get nostalgic, tbh
Old YGO - I agree that watching 15+ mins while some bloke sets up their board is boring AF, I want to actually play the game. These long videos are great BTW 👍🏻
Older yugioh. Reason is because in older yugioh, you don't have to wait 30 minutes for your turn. You don't have to worry about going 2nd then as soon as you draw you get blow up with 10k plus damage.
My childhood was an older kid on my school bus coming back to my house and stealing most of my cards and trying to sell me back my own blue eyes for $30. The only cards I found that he missed were BLS and Dark Paladin
I'd say I prefer the old school, like Forbidden Memories old school. GOAT was good, but everyone played the exact same deck. I still have a collection of 3x All old school Normal Monsters and even the new school. I have a few friends that play those Old School duels with me, like example "I Summon Great White, and set one card, Your move!". However I must say that some new school cards have that old school vibe and sometimes we include them in duels. Edit: The Why part. Simple, I find old Yu-Gi-Oh! to actually be a duel rather than a game of Time Attack with a "You must win within 5 minutes or else the planet will burn" type of match. It's like dueling a Dementor, just sucks the fun and happiness of Yu-Gi-Oh! out of ones Soul. Yes I do play tournaments, but I typically bring a deck that's more "fun" orientated rather than "Have to Win at all cost". Example, last locals I played, I played a pure Obelisk deck and ended up 5th out of 28 people.
Old Yugioh is just so much bettre imo. Modern is just so annoying and not that fun to play. Its also to complicated and can get really unfair really quickly. Hand traps are also beyond annoying and the card effects are just nuts now.
I love gx era cuz every card is good and Playable and there is so many different decks and styles, with out too many crazy play or destroy opponents with one càrd that's not even can stopped
Not so much on the buffing, but i would just love to see more old school boss monsters brought back and have decks built around them. Vampire Lord, Dark Ruler Ha Des, Masked Beast, Dark Master Zorc, some actual worthy support for Summoned Skull, maybe even some new Toon goodies. On subject of old decks, i would love to see an Archfiend Chess deck, Toons, a personal Destiny Board build, and XYZ. Mayhaps even a Ritual deck. Im a big fan of Rituals even though with the nice support they have, theyre useless. Currently my favorite decks I have are my Dark Worlds, Vampires, Cubics, and my Ruin/Demise Ritual decks. I love pure archtype decks, so several of them could be optimized better, and because i want them to be useful, im *gag* adding stuff *gag* that makes them more meta.... I wish i didnt have to, but to be able to play against most the optimized insanity nowadays, its a necessity. Even though its only about 20 cards (extra deck mostly) my Vampires can actually do something now lol Now i just need to finish tweaking my Rose Dragons to see how they hold up. Only deck that i have mostly pure that doesnt feel like it needs much tweaking is my Red Dragon Archfiends. Dont have the new shit, but plan on getting it. It already kicked some ass with ease lol Favorite old school YuGiOh cards would have to be: Trap- Nightmare Wheel Magic- Soul Absorption Monster- Terrorking Archfiend These were the 3 main staples of my deck that did work. It also consisted of Injection Fairy Lily, Dark Necrofear, Dark Ruler Ha Des, Invader of Darkness, and even a Lava Golem. Miss my old devastator of a deck. All my friends struggled for wins lol
You should do Starter Deck Yugi vs Starter Deck Kaiba, plus draft pack of 10 Legend of Blue Eyes and make a deck battle! Then do Starter Deck Draft packs!
GOAT is the GOAT. Cards are actually meaningful and every draw really means something. Current format is boring and basically just a click ability spam
Personally I like long duels, and I miss the days where everything was more equal. I miss 60 card 40 turn duels like in old Yu-Gi-Oh. Also I like how old doesn't summon a full field turn 1 and there was no immune to everything without either a big equip or equip effect combo. So my vote is old is much better then new.
Although I like the old school Yu-Gi-Oh, I gotta say I prefer modern Yu-Gi-Oh. My reason is that even tho the older stuff is iconic, the newer stuff adds to the game as a whole and really made it so that an old game like Yu-Gi-Oh could still be refreshing in the world today. Of course there are some negative things that make you hate the newer things like the annoyingly repetitive metas people won't stop doing, but still that's bound to happen regardless of which generation. As we grow and change, the game does as well and I love that.
Hey Rhyme i can an idea for classic suels in your videos that would really capture the anime moments. Playing character duels you play 60 card decks each character decks have cards locked to that specific character another character cannot use that card(example mirror force is locked to Yugi or Jaden +Harpy cards being locked to Mia) you get the picture. Build chards played by each character also you can only run 1 copy of any card within the deck.(it will have less consistency but more pool of cards and plays of the specific characters plus by running only 1 ofs. And a 60 card deck your duels will never feel like a Construct. I do this with Friends of mine to us its really enjoyable. A slower paced game that you feel your playing the role of that anime character. Also for extra deck there is only fusion summon that exhisted in that Era. But what we did do since BEUD does require 3 blue eyes we decided to allow twin burst that way a blue eyes and another that replaces a material could be used. Also have 5 headed dragon and First of fhe Dragons ect so their were fusion options. We also made sure to put in at least 15 vanilla monsters in each deck for more fun.
First off I don't need to explain myself but I do like GOAT format but that is because it reminds me of the old times I used to fuck around with cards with my Brother. I would be open to see some modern stuff I just don't like seeing only meta cards where the play is to completely shut out your opponent but instead to build a big ass board as quick as you can but can be interrupted until it is set.
Master duel said they might make my cards. Please if you want harpies deck to be able to compete please send this to master duel too. Harpie sisters or lady’s should have a fusion harpie card like maybe one called Harpie’s Rulers (OG harpie sisters but royal battle armor) and its attack can be 3450 defense 4100. It’s effect maybe it can target 3 cards on the field and return them to deck or hand plus this card can attack three times but not if you have already used the other effect. Finally this card cannot be destroyed by card effect. Must be fusion summoned by tributing either 3 harpie lady’s or harpie lady sister and harpie slasher. You do not need to use fusion spell to fusion summon this card. And another fusion card called “Harpies ultimate pet dragon) atk 3200 defense 3800 (art work- harpies pet dragon with the 3 harpie sisters each holding a chain above the dragon). “This card gain 200 atk for every harpie lady on the field or graveyard, quick effect any card your opponent controls that targets a harpie lady card is negated. If this card is sent to the graveyard or banished, then special summon 3 harpie lady’s or 1 harpie sisters from your graveyard. This card does not need a fusion spell to summon it. Must tribute from hand or field 3 harpie lady’s/ or 1 harpie lady sisters and 1 dragon type monster. And another fusion card called "Harpies ultimate pet dragon atk 3200 defense 3800 (art work- harpies pet dragon with the 3 harpie sisters each holding a chain above the dragon). "This card gain 200 atk for every harpie lady on the field or graveyard, quick effect any card your opponent controls that targets a harpie lady card is negated. If this card is sent to the graveyard or banished, then special summon 3 harpie lady's or 1 harpie sisters from your graveyard. This card does not need a fusion spell to summon it. Must be special summoned by discarding or tributing 3 harpie lady’s or 1 harpie lady sisters and 1 dragon type monster.
