Three Item Limit Hacks You NEED To Know! | Disney Dreamlight Valley 

Hey Candi! I totally understand! Sadly, the item limit has more to do with hardware limitations! In fact, there was an update several months ago that increased the item limit for advanced hardware like PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S! If you're on one of those platforms, I can tell you how to double your item limit in the settings! Unfortunately, with Switch, Xbox One, and PS4, this isn't an option. Only because the increased limit would be extremely difficult for the hardware to load and render, and the game would become unstable. 🙃

Thanks Kristin! You know, I like to kind of just take things one section at a time! It makes it a lot less overwhelming for me! So, if you do want to rework your biomes or valley, maybe just pick a little area to work with and when you feel satisfied with it, move on to the next!

I'm the same. I've started just once a day, I spend a couple hours on design and that's all I do in design so I don't get overwhelmed. Then i spend rest of the time farming and doing gameplay quests.

My issue is that I love my existing decorating, and don't want to have to tear things down and remove decor I like to be able to use new items and decorate other areas. I don't want tons of the same limited number of items everywhere, I like variety and being more creative with the perfect items for each spot.

For sure! The item count can be a real headache and going over this stuff helps me too! Especially since I will soon be working to build out the Sunlit Plateau. I'll probably try to shave another 50-100 items off of my limit before then!

Switch, PS4, and Xbox One unfortunately can't use the extended item limit. As of right now, it's only supported on PS5, XBOX Series X/S, and PC. The problem is that the other platforms don't have the hardware to render and load that many items without causing major stability issues.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Ilona! Many friends of mine play and switch, and unfortunately, it is the most limited platform in terms of performance. This is definitely more prevelant in the late decorating as there is so much more to render. Hopefully, there will be some kind of optimization fix. I know there's been some adjustments made to assist with optimizations (adjustments and balances with lighting, textures, and render distance), but the Switch still seems to struggle, especially when it comes to decorating. I just hope the changes you desire will be available in time. I still experience occasional freezing and lockups on my PC, which is powerful enough to handle most next-generation games. Hey Michelle! I get asked about that item ALL the time! It's called the "Well of Souls" and is currently the only item from the "Hercules Collection" we have in the game! Unfortunately, the "Well of Souls" was exclusive to the Halloween Star Path, so for now it can't be obtained through other methods! Maybe in the future there will be a way to trade it! As for the glowing palms trees, those are available in Scrooge's Shop and they are part of the Moana collection which includes many glowing beach items! Hope you find them in the store soon! @kristin stevanus Well, I'm not TOO far along in my Minecraft build. I've made a labor camp for my villagers (lol trading hall), and I've got a decent farm that mostly focuses on wheat and sugarcane. (Sugarcane for paper and wheat breed cows) These two crops allow me to make nearly endless books to roll for the best enchantments. I've managed to score some amazing armor and weapons in my hardcore world, but I'm usually overly cautious... considering if you die in hardcore, you'll never be able to play in that world again... because of that fear, I haven't done too much in terms of mega builds, but I may someday.

I doubt we'll ever see terraforming in this game because of the way it's coded and structured. That said, I really wish that was a possibility! At the very least, being able to move or remove our ponds and rivers would be AMAZING! The item limit certainly is a pain, but I understand why it's there for now! Even with the item limit, there is SO much to do and decorate. I hope things change one day with the limit! For now, I just dance around it! 😁 Thank you so much for the kind words Layla! Actually, I don't think anyone has asked this. It's a good question. The answer is yes, they do still count towards the item limit if they are outside your home!

To answer your question, each chest you place outside will count as ONE item regardless of how many items you place inside of it. Personally, I place a few chests outfdoors for convenience, but I keep the other 95% of my chests indoors so they won't contribute to the item counts. Cheers. 😊

Yes. That's actually a really good thing to bring up. I did this behind my house in the plaza before I upgraded to the castle skin. Though doing this where visible may look a bit weird/off, it would effectively shave off more items from spawning!

The cellestial pillars can be purchased from scrooge upon unlocking them. The same applies to all the pillars you unlock. Most crafting items appear naturally once you have the required ingredients. Hope that helps!

@Warz Shadow no not quite! Back in the day, when the game first launched, anything you crafted could be bought from scrooge. They took that out with the very first update. Items you purchase from scrooges shop floor, items you unlock by leveling your character, and items you unlock from leveling villagers can all be purchased from scrooge if you speak to Scrooge in his shop. (You'll have a dialogue option with scrooge to buy anything you've bought or unlocked previously. Up to 25 items a day can be bought directly from Scrooge upon speaking to him. You'll have a whole inventory to scroll through!) Items you craft cannot be purchased. If you want more crafted items, you'll have to craft more.

Oh no! It disappeared? This is something you'll need to reach out to Gameloft about. You can email them through the official DLV website, OR you could reach out to them via their official discord! I've never heard of this happening before, but bugs can happen! The only thing you can really do is report it and hope for a resolution.

Hey Tina! Adding things inside your home should not affect your 3000 item limit! The item limit pertains to outdoors only! However, there is one condition! For me (at least on PC), if I've hit my item limit outside for some reason, I can't place items inside even though the items don't affect or add to the limit! I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended. My guess is that it's a bug! Hope that helps! Cheers!

@@Probably_Senpai My file doesn't seem to have an item limit. I was suggesting that maybe putting stuff in your house and not outside would give you less stuff in your inventory so low numbers on the limit. Like you'd still have say 3000 as your limit, but you would have only 300 things so it would it wouldn't matter. ( I just couldn't think how to word it, which is bad because I am an author and I guess I had like a writer's block on how to phrase what I meant to say.)

@Tina Rash Ah, okay I see what you're saying. You're an author? That's amazing, my mother is an author! Unfortunately, placing things inside will not help solve the issues players have with the item limit. I spend most of my time outside my home when I play DDLV so I prefer the outdoors to be well decorated. Same with many players, which is why I made this video to help others! As far as you're game file, you do have an item limit. Though, it probably hasn't presented itself as an issue if you haven't placed 3000 items outdoors yet. The game is the same across all platforms. Every game has an item limit. 😁 You'll only run into a wall with your item limit if you place a lot of items and thuroughly decorate outside. If you'd like to see where you're at on your item limit, you can do so by going outside and selecting furniture to place! Once you're in the furniture placing menu, look at the top right-hand corner of your screen. Keep in mind that in order to see this, you'll need to select a furniture item to place. While moving the furniture to the desired location, you will see your overall item limit! Players typically hit the item limit in the late game. (I'm sitting around 650 hours played myself)

No. Indoor items have no impact on your limit. Also eternity has it's own separate limit which is the same size as the valley limit.

Mining rocks respawn after exactly 5 minutes. (These are the various mining locations in each biome that drop minerals, stone, coal, and ore.) They do not count towards the item limit. However, the items that fly out of them do count towards the item limit if left on the ground.

Yeah, you can definitely decorate your whole valley with 3000 items but some players struggle with this because everyone's approach to decorating is different. 😁

@@Probably_Senpai I think what kills you is all the tiny stones. I see so many people do paths and then cover them in stones, it’s cute. But it horrible for the item limit

@riri williams Nothins killing me or anyone else. 🤔 My whole valley is decorated! 😁 Every biome. These 3 item limit tricks helped me work it out. That's why I'm sharing it. (Also, it's a lot more than "tiny stones." Any small item will drive up costs. Crops included. It's simple math. 😌) This video was made weeks ago, and I actually haven't had a hard time decorating my whole valley. Come by twitch sometime, and I'll show you. Either way, you may be misinterpreting things. It's not that people are unable to finish their biomes... it's that many of us would love to add more. It's not as much an issue we're struggling with... but an addition we'd like to see, if that makes sense! 😅 It's the desire to continue being creative even at 2900 items. Even after you've decorated the whole valley, like I have, you may still want to add more.

I see them using a lot of stone in paths, and that takes up a lot.. and for the items limit. I’m pretty sure it’s to deal with the lag. You ever played the game ark? Where the servers are so packed you can barely move. Maybe that is why it’s only 3000. Im sure a little bit more wouldnt do a lag. But if it was unlimited. Im sure that would make the game unplayable. Especially on a switch. And lastly the game is still new. What we are playing now. Will be so different year from now.

@riri williams I get that... but why are you talking about the other players? They do have a right to complain and voice their opinions on the game, you know? Let's not try and invalidate the frustration other players deal with. Player's complaining about struggling with the item count have their own unique editing style and sense of design technique. Maybe they like using the stones? They should be able to use them. Also, comparing this to Ark is a HUGE stretch. You're talking about a massive/expansive open world. This video isn't about anyone complaining, so I'm not sure why you're making this a topic. 😅 This video provides players with ways to strengthen their item count budgeting so they CAN decorate the way they want. I feel like calling out a player's choice of decor shows you're missing the point of the video. 😊 Also, the only platform that lags consistently is the nintendo switch. This has more to do with the Switch's limitations than it has to do with rendering rock clusters. DLV is capable of rendering A LOT more than a simple rock path.

I wish! Or allow us to somehow disable herbs from sprouting up randomly in every biome! I don't need 157,894,121 bundles of oregano or mint 🤣 😅 We're still in early access for now, though! So who knows? Maybe it's a change we'll see in the future!
