The Lusaka Magistrate Court has sentenced PRECIOUS NKUNIKA and her two other co-accused to FIVE years simple imprisonment for stealing a baby at the University Teaching Hospitals -UTH in Lusaka.
Lusaka Magistrate CHRISPIN HAMPUNGANI found PRECIOUS NKUNIKA, 28, a stores officer at judiciary, EMILY HALL 37, a nutrition demonstrator at UTH and REBECCA MKANDAWIRE, 42, a maid at UTH guilty of stealing a baby in May, 2022.
Magistrate HAMPUNGANI has also sentenced NKUNIKA's mother GRACE SISKA to two years simple imprisonment for harboring a child.
Meanwhile, NELLY KASALO 41, a nutrition administrator at UTH D-block has been acquitted of the offence.
In delivering Judgment, Magistrate HAMPUNGANI said he was satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that the prosecution through their witnesses had proved their case.
