Something similar happened to our dog. Her previous owners accidentally ran over her when she was three-months-old, and she was rescued by a vet who didn’t want to put her down. She has had three surgeries on her left leg and she needs a fourth one. We have to decide whether to amputate or give it one more go.
My dog is going through the same thing sadly she got hit this morning and she loves to run and i was scared she might not do it again but this gave me hope
So sorry to hear about your dog. I wish her a smooth recovery ❤️. It took my dog some time but he eventually got back to functioning normally after his accident.
How is your Doberman doing now? Our Doberman came home today from surgery removing her right leg also. How long was it before he started feeling comfortable walking around and keeping good balance? Thank you
@@enginehobbies9483 He is doing great. He is a super tough dog. He’s had cancer twice, was heartworm positive when we adopted him years ago. He is 13 or so, but for an old man he does well. He walks around the backyard no problem. Making turns is challenging and walks longer than 100 yards or so is very tiring, but he loves car rides and chewing on beef bones and laying in bed getting belly rubs and hanging out with our 3 others. He seems very happy. Take your time. Use a sling or some soft cloth under their back end to help them learn to walk without that leg. Great ve her lots of love….she’ll be fine. Good luck to you !
My dogs story is the same she lost her leg when she was 4 because she was hit by a truck and the had to take her back leg so is 15 years old now and it does not even effect here
It didnt affect her? That's great. My dog got ran over to and probably will have to get his back leg removed so I've been watching vids and seeing everyone's comments
Hey is this organization is only for Boxer? My doggy was hit by a car surgery is really expensive and I’m looking for some kind a help his left leg needs to be removed and I came to see this video to be familiar how his life is going to be. Thanks
Hey I wish your dog a smooth recovery. Hope you’re doing okay. I know they help rescue dogs but I’m not sure exactly how they use their funds. It would be best to reach out to them for more info
How long did it take him to balance? My dog had an operation today to remove his right back leg 😔. I’m worried he’ll have trouble walking and balancing. Thanks for this video
I am so sorry to hear about your dog! I actually adopted my dog within a few weeks of his accident. He was walking around when I first met him. I don't know the exact amount of time, but I would estimate a few weeks. I hope your pup recovers well. Best wishes
I’m sooo sorry for all of you❤️ I just got som disturbing news today from my vet. She is concerned about a possible tumor on her rear left foot above her toes and her ankle. There is not a lot of room to play with as it is in a challenging area wen attempting to remove it. I’m trying to bee optomystic, but it’s hard.... she’s so agile n loves her ball! Breaks my heart❤️💛💚 Hang in there :)
Hello! I have a boxer who just was hit by a car. Similar story. He has a bad open wound on his leg and one of our treatment options are to remove his leg. This video helped me see that he will be able to still have an amazing life if we did go this route! Was wondering if I could reach out to you for so more information about life as a 3 legged boxer! 😊
Thank you for educating us about three-legged dogs. I'm considering adopting one, but was hesitant because of her disability. I'm glad to see that Lucas can still run and doesn't seem hampered by his disability.
My 11 year old Doberman just lost a back leg to cancer. It’s been maybe 8 weeks and he sometimes gets up and gets down the hall but thats about it. He seems to still be wobbly. Are we helping him to much by using a brace under him to help him walk ? We are hoping he’ll be a little more independent eventually ??? Thx !
I actually have a dog like this same breed and everything but it’s a girl her name is mocha but she doesn’t live in the best environment because I live in a small apartment :(
Thank you for this video. My dog will go from four legs to three legs tomorrow. He will lose his left rear. He’s athletic and loves long walks. I was wondering how far your dog can go? Our normal routine was 4 to 6 mile walks before the accident.
Sorry to hear about the accident. My dog lost the same leg, his left rear. Despite his handicap he still has endurance. When we take him to the park he plays normally and he can walk/run as far as we are willing to take him. 3-4 miles is typical for him. After fully recovering from his accident he is now well adapted to 3 legs and appears unaffected by it. I wish your dog a smooth recovery
My dogs story is the same she lost her leg when she was 4 because she was hit by a truck and the had to take her back leg she is 15 years old now and it does not even effect here and she still at the age she is she can run forever
Thank u for this post ... my dog just had surgery today .... she had her left back leg amputated due to soft tissue sarcoma.... i need positive comments please
