Another enjoyable video Eddy. Loch Lomond and it’s surroundings is truly a magical part not only of Scotland, but of the entire world! I was fortunate enough to spend a bit of time around there years ago, but never had the opportunity of experiencing a long walk through. That view of the loch and Ben Lomond in the background is seriously stunning and definitely worth the physical effort. I remember Loch Lomond having many islands. Thank you for all the work that you put into these videos, really looking forward to the next two in this series, regards Rob.

Great video Ed. I did this walk a year or two ago in the opposite direction. I had forgotten about it until I seen your video just now. It was indeed a great walk and I’m going to do it again soon. Thanks for the video.

Just curious, Ed. When you do these multi-part walks like the Three Lochs, do you stay overnight in places like Helensburgh or do you return to home base each night and set out fresh the next day? PS I echo the comment made by someone else about lunch - I love to vicariously share your lunch on these rambles!

I've just been doing these one day at a time and travelling to and from each start and end point. In the past, in the Pre-Video Era, I generally tackled these walks in a oney, although the strange thing is I've never done the West Highland Way - Scotland's first long-distance walking trail - in a oney. First walk I ever tried, and my knees decided they had had quite enough thank you by the time I reached Auch (an appropriate name for an end-point if ever there was one!).

Lovely walk Ed. It's like that isn't it - once out the door it's a whole different story. The lochs and the land opened up for you there. It's those impressions and the wind and the scent of the air we breathe in and take back with us. I did a wild camp beside Loch Long - my first time in Scotland. Here's my take on it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-krqdbFkYU8k.html I hope you enjoy it. I certainly did. All the best up there. Mark

Do you mind me asking what software program you use for editing your videos?
@EdExploresScotland
@EdExploresScotland 3 года назад
I use Movie Studio 15.0. It's at the lower end of the video editing software spectrum, but certainly up to the job. I believe there is a more up-to-date version.

Driven the road from one to the other so many times. Never thought of walking it. Next time it’s a dry weekend it’s booked. Can you point to any online map a for the walk
@EdExploresScotland
@EdExploresScotland Год назад
Many thanks for your comment. I always recommend having a paper Ordnance Survey map at hand, as batteries on phones can run out. The paper map in question is Ordnance Survey Landranger #56, 'Loch Lomond & Inveraray'. Balloch is just on the edge or just off the map and runs into #63, but I think you can get away with just #56. As far as online maps are concerned Ordnance Survey provide these same maps online. Alternatively, if you do a web search for 'Walk Highlands Three Lochs Way', you'll find that excellent website has online maps. Enjoy the adventure.

@@EdExploresScotland update as at 28th lol. After watching the wife and I decide today to try the 1sr walk. Parked at the Maid of the loch (out the water and being repaired finally) from start to finish a lovely walk all be it tough on the old legs (I am 44lol) amazing views and wel worth the trail. Even the burger lunch in weatherpoos In Helensburgh at the end. Bus back to pick up car was only a few bob. Had it not been for seeing your film this morning we could have been at a loose end. Keep them coming. We will try the other two walks soon.

Thanks for that. Sometimes it's only when you get out there, in the great outdoors, that you realise what you've been missing. Enjoy your next adventure.
