Drugs were a big thing in the 1980's. I remember baseball players being arrested/suspended, left and right, because of the stuff. It was always in the news. Cocaine especially. It was everywhere. You couldn't get away from it. It was literally the "Fentanyl" of the 20th Century, that stuff!
I may be in the minority here, but I love the sequel even more Three Men And A Little Lady. It pays off a love story that we didn't even know was started with this one. It's really, really great. ❤️😊
Three Men and a Baby was the highest grossing movie of 1987, the 3 leads were huge 80s stars. It is a remake of a french film Three Men and a Cradle. I remembered when it was filmed in my home town of Toronto. The City was excited Tom Selleck & Ted Danson were living in town for 3 months. Tom always wore a Blue Jays hat on Magnum P.I. so when he was in Toronto the Jays had Tom come play with them for the day. Tom was knocking the balls into the stands. Spock himself Leonard Nimoy directed Three Men. There is a sequel "Three men and a Little Lady"(1990). I liked it.
Such a great comedy. The 3 main leads had great chemistry and totally believable reactions to having a baby thrown into their lives. I'll never forget when my daughter was born and the when we first brought her home. It was literally putting her down in her crib and looking at each other saying, "Well? Now what?"
A naked baby wasn't nothing back then. We didn't think like that. This is like when cable first came out so you kind of knew who your local perverts were but child pornography wasn't quite a big thing until the internet came out. I mean it was out there but how they traded it is beyond me.
The creepy ghost kid is what always comes to mind when ever I see or hear about this movie 😂 I know it’s been debunked but it sure freaked me out when I was a kid!
I still don't quite buy the debunking explanation. How did somebody put the Ted Danson cutout in the window then take it out all within a straight scene (where their are no cutaways or places for edit)?
I 100% agree with commenter who said the Three Men An A Baby sequel, Three Men And A Little Lady is a worthy follow up to the original movie. I hope you do seriously consider checking it out and or reacting to it. Best wishes to Samantha for a safe and healthy delivery her baby. May the birth and arrival of your first child bring you both TBR and Samantha more joy and happiness then you ever imagined was possible. I am single and have no children but have heard that being a parent is one of life’s greatest joys despite the challenges that come with being a parent and a raising a child. Great reaction. Love and enjoy your reaction channel.
"Look who's talking" is a comedy movie about the world through newborn's eyes. John Travolta starring. "Undercover Blues" - 90s action fun movie about married secret agents that go on maternity leave.
Oh I love this film! I was a child when this came out, but even then I could appreciate the gorgeousness of Tom Selleck :) Good luck for the birth of your child!
See the "ghost" haha. A long lasting urban myth. It was a cutout of Danson that got overlooked apparantly but some people still think the ghost of a young boy appears briefly.
I forgot how cute this movie was! And totally forgot about the drug plot as well. Glad you guys enjoyed it! a few other baby movies you might like are: A Simple Twist of Fate (94, with Steve Martin), Look Who's Talking, and Undercover Blues (93. The baby isn't the main focus, but it is a hilarious spy movie). ~Caroline
“BABY BOOM” With Diane Keaton and Harold Ramus and Sam Shepard is very sweet, funny and cute too!! Diane’s character inherits a baby and similar to this has to learn how to care for a baby and try to continue her career and care for a baby (not quite as young as Mary)! Adorable!!!
Cute ‘update’ story - a few years ago, Diane Keaton wrote an autobiography (??) and was on a book tour. At one stop, 2 women talked to her and brought up Baby Boom. Those women were the twins that played the toddler in Baby Boom. Mini reunion in the middle of a book tour.
Wow!! Would love to know what they look like now!! They were beautiful babies!!!! Loved the movie!! So much that I bought a copy of it and have seen it at least five times!!!
As someone who got thrust into being a single-parent, let me give you some old lady knowledge: Remember that advice is just a fancy word for opinons, and you dont have to take it. This is going to be learning experience and everything you do is going to seem wrong, but it wont be to the baby. Listen to your gut, your instinct, and you wont go wrong. This is not a race for First Place; sleep when you need to sleep; eat when you need to eat. You CAN sleep with your baby without fear. Cuddle, hold, snuggle as much as your heart desires because you cannot spoil a baby with too much love. You do what's best for YOU and BABY, not what's best for someone else. YOU are your baby's PARENT. Many blessings to the three of you! ❤
Always loved this movie. You have to realize this was a different time and mindset. You saw a babies bottom and thought, thats so cute! Didn't think a thing about it. Congratulations! You'll be fine, great parents.
This was a remake of a 1985 French Film Three Men and a Cradle (Trois hommes et un couffin) which was hysterical and had none of the ridiculous nonsense of the heroine. The sequel is pretty good too. And this was a HUGE hit when it was released in 1987 for obvious reasons. And don't worry guys, you'll do fine when yours arrives!!
It's been about twenty years since I saw the French original, but I certainly have memories of a drug package story element. As in this, it formed the basis of the "package" misunderstanding.
Wishing the best for you both. It will feel like chaos at first. But over the first few weeks you will settle in to a new routine. The lack of sleep will get to you, but just keep remembering one very important thing - this part is temporary. It will feel like forever, but the first weeks will give way to the first several months, then first few years. And you will wonder how those early days all went by so quickly.
The only speed-bump for Dansen was his CSI role, and he was fine. I just expected a different Sam Malone or growling Becker... my expectations were too diff. GOOD PLACE blew all of that out of the water because, well, it was such a WEIRD tale and setup, and always had unexpected's along the way. For me, that was like a palate-cleanser for MY version of Dansen's career. I grew to expect nothing! Sadly, I haven't warmed to Tom without being Thomas Magnum. His films are pretty good, although his small town drunk-ex-cop wore on me - that TV film series (JESSE STONE). But his MY ALIBI and KILLERS (Heigl and Ashton) are top notch. His HIGH ROAD TO CHINA, MR BASEBALL, etc. all fun. Guttenberg...well...
@Atlas_Redux I just rewatched Season 2 of Fargo in which he played the world's most attractive older CatDaddy. And a good cop & a good man. And of course Sam Malone will always be one of my favorite TV characters of all time. Just felt a strong urge to rewatch the "Cheers Has Chili" episode. Kaboom!💥💥
Steve Guttenberg is known for starring in the first 4 Police Academy movies (Police Academy is another movie you guys should check out) as well as movies like Short Circuit and High Spirits.
I actually know him the best in Short Circuit. That movie is sooo badass, but there’s a lot of curse words especially for an 80s movie. Otherwise, I love that one too!😊
This movie was directed by Spock. There was an urban legend that this movie had a ghost caught on film. You can see a small figure looking into the house from a window. But it turned out this was a cardboard standee of Ted Danson. In a deleted scene, Ted was seen carrying the standee into the home.
You two will be wonderful parents. When you have difficulty, reach out. Take the help. It works out :) This was a great movie. Lots of fun. I like how it showed men being involved and experiencing fatherhood. It wasn't always that way.
I love this movie. This is a remake of a French movie, which is actually even funnier (Trois hommes et un couffin-Three Men and a Cradle). Congrats to you both!
Congratulations guys i have a 3yr old and 7 month old. Trust me all u need is patience and understanding for the baby and each other everything else will come together and Google every question lol
Back then, I did graphic arts and marquee posters for a company that did that for Paramount, Universal, Disney, Buena Vista, etc. The first marquee poster I ever worked on was this movie. Brings back fond memories.
Steve Gutenburg was Mahoney in Police Academy, thats why he looks familiar. Also Tom Selick and hoochie daddy shorts are like bacon and eggs baby, the ultimate combo
Also the baby was played by Twins. Hollywoord tries to ALWAYS use twins in case one baby is acting up, they can use another. The twins names were Michelle and Lisa Blair. Michelle never acted again, but Lisa had 1 more role 12 years later as a young version of Sarah, the main character in a "B" movie Morella. (it was not a good movie)
Thank you for the reaction, we watched this movie a thousand times when I was a kid and I just love it. I wish you two (three) the best on your incredible journey with your first baby!
"Three Men and a Baby" is a hilariously wholesome flick. I went into watching it, as a kid, thinking I was going to hate it (because I was about that age, and had different movie interests). But I came out of it actually thinking it was decent, because it was so entertaining.
"Yeah, beat the 💩 out of Jack!" Peter goes full Magnum PI for a second when he thinks they came back for Mary. His love for her is my favorite part of the movie.
OMG, I love this movie, it has humour but it was nice to see the growth of the 3 bachelors from living a carefree life to becoming mature and responsible dads
I am beyond excited that you guys did this one. It's one of my favourites - but not well known among the reactors. Love their growth throughout the movie - and their love for Mary. Another one of the best baby movies is Look Who's Talking with Kirstie Alley and John Travolta. Another adorable kids movie is One Fine Day with George Clooney and Michelle Pheiffer. Cheers from Canada and congratulations. Have fun on your new adventure!!
I would also recommend if you haven’t seen it, reacting to “Nine Months” starring Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore, Robin Williams, Tom Arnold, Joan Cusack, and Jeff Goldblum if you want a Moore comedic baby movie.
Best wishes for a wonderful birth and healthy baby! Knowing Bradley and Lamaze breathing helped me! Home birth, natural. 💕💕💕read up or watch a video on both breathing styles.
Just a brief preview what you guys are in for. Lol congratulations on you guys's upcoming little one. These guys are hilarious and do this so well rising to the occasion. You guys have got to watch more of their work. Steve guttenberg has great in cocoon.
Loved this!! Would be keen for a sequel reaction. Saw Mr Mom in the polls too, that's a classic would be a great watch! Also, good luck on your own baby journey! :)
"Oh, Ted Danson, he's from The Good Place." This just killed me. Cheers is one of, if not the best, sitcom of all time, and they say, "he's from The Good Place."
@@incredulousdisbelief9841 Dennis the Menace, Brady Bunch, I Love Lucy, all of these things were before my time. I'm still aware of the classics and actors.
The actress playing Ted Danson’s mom, Celeste Holm, is worth further watching! Holm won an Academy Award for her performance in Elia Kazan's Gentleman's Agreement (1947), and was nominated for her roles in Come to the Stable (1949) and All About Eve (1950). She also is known for her performances in The Snake Pit (1948), A Letter to Three Wives (1949), and High Society (1956). She is also known for originating the role of Ado Annie in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Oklahoma! (1943).
You had Ted Danson that was on Cheers at the time, Tom Selleck that was on Magnum PI at the time, Steve Guttenberg was on a great streak of movies with Cocoon, Police Academy and Leonard Nimoy/ the one and only Spock directed it. Also, I will throw in Nancy Travis who has had a great career. Great movie and the 2nd movie is also worth a watch.
It's been a long time since i saw this in the theatre..i suggest that you also try watching "Look who's talking"(john travolta/bruce willis)..."Baby's day Out"(joe mantegna).
Fun fact: THE MINIYE I SAW YOU (the song over the credit roll at the end) was written by John Parr, David (The Hitman) Foster, and Marvin Hamlisch (A CHORUS LINE) with Carol Bayer-Sager.
You're never ready, but the payoff is so rewarding. My oldest is about to turn 8 years old and my youngest is about to turn 2. They have filled my heart with so much joy and love and keep me going everyday.
You guys know about the legendary "ghost" of this movie? The scene where "Jack" tries to convince his mother to take the baby, you can see an inexplicable figure in the curtains. It was talked about for a long time back then. Still now a bit.
Yup, it happens in 18:31... but it looks more like a cardboard cutout... If I remember correctly, it was said that a boy showed up in the background and according to the cast and crew, there was no kid in the set that day... I'm glad you can see it here.
Oh, OK. I never heard it had been debunked, but then again, that was something I saw a long time ago. What I do remember was that this and other "appearances" where part of this huge ghosts in film program. @@aveemarie268
