Tough call to pick one. I would say Alston Pass (3rd road) was a nice technical road and would be favorite in terms of experiencing a challenging ride. However, the the other two roads were absolutely perfect for mixing it up. That is, opportunities to enjoy the scenery as well as let the horses run (while minding sheep of course). Great video. Thanks.
I know what you mean about a 'tough call' - I often find its whatever mood I'm in that denotes what road type I prefer. Thanks for the comment and support - really appreciate that
Agree with all three but Middleton in Teesdale to Alston and Alston pass are also a couple of my favourite roads. Great Vlogs, hopefully I'll get to a few rides with biking buddies, I'm not too far away up near Durham :)
Benjamin Geddes yes I'd have to agree on the Teesdale to Alston road. Your more than welcome to join us anytime I post a ride. Just keep an eye on Facebook biking buddies as it's where myself and others post ride. Thank you for the support
I did the Butter Tubs going to Hawes last month fantastic run out, but one of them balls of wool with legs nearly had me off!! we do have some of the best roads and places to visit in the world... One of my fav's is still Stokesley to helmsley
Grew up in Alston and Newcastle, and have family in Penrith, superb roads around there - it's way better in the week when the roads are much clearer. Will need to try more in North Yorkshire now I live on Teesside.
Just the chap foam type but they are very effective and most importantly they are comfortable. This is a link to the same type but I dont buy them from Amazon; www.amazon.co.uk/Howard-Leight-Individually-Wrapped-3301105/dp/B0007XJOLG/ref=sr_1_1/251-2983798-1615025?ie=UTF8&qid=1472410577&sr=8-1&keywords=foam+ear+plug Hope this helps
They are narrow goat tracks (or is that sheep trails). A nice ride, a nice tourist road but hardly a biker's road. You really need to get yourself to OZ - steal a hanky, kill a lord, or what ever it takes to get exported these days.
It's all very east is west you know, hadn't realised the NE extended so far west :P a bit like Yorkshire further south pushing over the Pennines into Lancashire. I prefer the off the beaten track roads with the views, less interested in the so called biker roads, probably because my bike isn't very fast.
I know what you mean - the one thing thats great about bikes is that they allow you to get into new areas that you wouldn't get into with a car. Thanks for the watch and the comment - very much appreciated
Thank you Paul, I've been working my way through your videos, I really appreciate the effort you put in, your passion and energy shine through. I've not ridden for 10 years due to illness, but hoping to make an effort to get one of my bikes on the road soon, for just for a bit of pottering about. keep up the good work and thank you :)
Mate, that means a lot. The thanks should be to you not me - I enjoy riding and filming just as much as editing. I dont always get the balance right but I think I'm getting there. Thank you for the support
no worries, I've been watching a lot of bloggers on here lately, and I have to say I think yours are the very best I've seen to date. Hopefully I'll get to ride with you guys even if it is just for a short while. Just need to get my little Honda Dax on the back of the motorhome and head north a bit.
