Wilbur is a beautiful place. Great looking trout under tough conditions, especially when they cut that water loose.

You caught that brown about where I fell in last November haha! Had a rod standing vertically in my kayak behind my seat and it got caught in one of those shrubby trees growing out of the rock wall. Brrrr!!!

Taking a trip to Tennessee here in a couple weeks. Staying on watauga lake. Definitely going to make a trip to this lake as well! After some trout!

It’s called a Go Fish cam. Definitely check it out. I think it cuts down on the amount of fish you may catch but it also gives you some really good insight into what they’re doing down there

Another question bro is there a spot to bank fishing here as well? Gonna try it Wednesday before going out with the kayak to get a good look of the area. Coming from Johnson city seems like that bait shop is back tracking but seems the only local that I know of. Do you still fish here and the dam? If so may see you out there sometime soon.

Yeah, there are a few places at Wilbur Lake to fish from the bank. You can also have a lot of success down at Wilbur Dam as well. Occasionally, I still go down there.
