Welcome back knuckleheads for another adventure into Stooges home media history. Today, instead of looking at DVDs, we will go back in time and see some of the more unusual VHS releases.
To begin, we look at Vols. 1-5 of Goodtimes Home Video's 1990 Shemp releases, featuring several unusual 1950s offerings as well as several stock footage remakes (including 2 infamous "Fake Shemp" shorts.) Then, we look at some cheap collections from Monogram which feature public domain shorts, solo outings, and several of the films where the trio was still Ted Healy and His Stooges. Oddly, the films originally in color are presented in black and white...
Finally, we take a quick look at the mid-80s failure "Stoogemania." Weaving public domain clips with a bizarre plotline, uneven acting, and an attempt to be topical, who this film was actually made for is as much your guess as mine...
Hope you chowderheads enjoy this look at some retro Stooge releases! Spread out!
